It looks like NAP have a 10% off offer for new customers. Not sure that it's enough to tempt me back though...

Jooox · 04/10/2021 13:09

@MidnightMeltdown you’re like the angel on my shoulder convincing me to save my money Grin Please don’t ever leave this thread.

Anon778833 · 04/10/2021 13:11

I noticed that too @toffeeshock

wheresmyshoe · 04/10/2021 13:20

Fenwicks contents are listed at the bottom of this article: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.chroniclelive.co.uk/whats-on/shopping/fenwick-reveals-beauty-foodie-advent-21730580.amp

Thank you @ashmts , I’m going to go with your second comment about Harrods not tempting you, and resist 😂. I honestly don’t need another lux calendar and there must have been enough that I was happy with in Fortnums to persuade me to part with over £200 for it in the first place. I will stay strong haha
@MidnightMeltdown there’s a few things in Harrods calling me this time - firstly the Dr Sebagh Rose serum stuff which I’ve been wanting to try for a while, (but have just remembered there is a 5ml sample of in the recent Liberty GWP so I’ll give it a go tonight ), then there’s the Dermalogica eye stuff, the AB lip balm (nice change from the cream), some neck stuff, AA, the scrunches (hopefully boxed) as a gift for someone, the Elemis and even the mascara and eye shadow base appeal. I know I’m such a sucker for all this stuff that others wouldn’t look twice at 😂. I must be restrained though. I’ve signed up for the Liberty beauty drop and the first box from that should arrive this month, plus I’ll be building up credit there........ for some weird reason I just love looking at, holding and owning expensive skincare 😊

MidnightMeltdown · 04/10/2021 13:40

@Jooox 🤣🤣

I wish I was so good at convincing myself not to spend money!! I may not have bought the JL calendar, but I did spend a significant amount on wall art in there recently!

Also, I've over indulged in advent calendars for the past couple of years and have already tried a lot of products, so they need to be seriously impressive to tempt me. In 2019 I bought F&M, Cult Beauty, M&S and Space NK (although in my defence I did get space nk for about £85 with a damaged outer box - I hadn't intended to buy it!). I won't admit to how many calendars I bought last year... BlushBlushGrin

This year I've bough F&M, but also the next editors box and the Liberty directors cut so I really don't need anything else! That's why I'm fussy!

Housewife2010 · 04/10/2021 13:44

@Luvacuppatea I have the AB lip balm - it was in a Space NK box last year. It is such a good long lasting lip balm with gorgeous packaging. I wouldn't spend £30 on it (or any lip balm) but if it was half the price I would definitely rebuy. I much prefer it to the similarly priced By Terry Baume de Rose lip balm too.

MidnightMeltdown · 04/10/2021 13:54

@Luvacuppatea

There's an AA oil in F&M if that helps, it was one of the products that tempted me...

However, it does sound like there's a lot that appeals to you in Harrods so might be worth it for you. The mascara was in the next box so I already have that in my stash, along with the Elemis cream, and the scrunchies. I also have a few serums and eye creams in my stash which is why I'm not very tempted. However if I didn't I'd probably be buying this.... Smile

Giftwithpurchase · 04/10/2021 14:05

Anyone else tempted by the Fenwicks Food and Drink calendar rather than the beauty one Grin

Giftwithpurchase · 04/10/2021 14:12

Just revisiting NAP and Harrods - they're both so nice, not sure which to get - may depend if Harrods is discounted and suspect NAP may sell out quicker .. decisions ..

NAP and Harrods are quite similar, both with 111 skin, Barbara Sterm, Oribe, a lip balm, a neck cream etc. It's just a shame that NAP had to go and include the pink stone and red eyeliner, otherwise it would be a favourite for me.
Luvacuppatea · 04/10/2021 14:29

Your comments about the AB lip balm are very enabling @Housewife2010 and I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing 😂. I’m still pondering, but it’s a week or more before Harrods comes out.......
@Giftwithpurchase it’s the NAP packaging that put me off it - that box is very plain........ though I suppose it’s really the contents that are important

toffeeshock · 04/10/2021 14:41

I only buy a calendar if it’s really worth it for me. I don’t have a budget in mind and don’t look at the ‘value’ either. This year I have two (JL and ASOS) as both have products in them that I use anyway making the other items a bonus. A couple of years ago I didn’t bother with any. I tend to prefer product brands which have been around for years to newer ones that I’ve only heard about because they’re in advent calendars.

wheresmyshoe · 04/10/2021 14:51

If the 10% off works for the NAP advent then it's the one for me. The box is a bit dull but that doesn't bother me really. I'm reusing last year's F&M as a display calendar and refilling with treats.

LizzieMacQueen · 04/10/2021 14:55

I wondered about the 10% off at NAP too but I'm not a first time buyer. It does say exclusions apply .....

No release yet ; I'm getting impatient.

Ah see I'm the total opposite. For me the whole point of buying advent calendars is to try new products that I wouldn't normally buy. That's what makes it exciting for me. I also want value for money when buying in bulk, otherwise I may just as well buy products as and when I want. Everyone's different though I guess.

SuperStarRose · 04/10/2021 15:02

Aargh I totally forgot to buy the JL AC.

However last year I bought it when it came back into stock in November and it was my favourite ever AC because I loved most of the items.

toffeeshock · 04/10/2021 15:13

I enjoy trying new products but I like to know that I’ll love at least a few of the items in there. I was due to buy a few of the products in the calendars I have bought as I’m running low, so it makes sense to get them in the calendars (if they are full size) and then get the extras for free.

Giftwithpurchase · 04/10/2021 15:31

@Luvacuppatea I agree the NAP packaging is rather meh whereas the Harrods packaging is stunning. But I think the NAP contents are slightly better for me ... hmmm I don't know!! 🤷‍♀️

@MidnightMeltdown I agree re the pink stone but the red eyeliner I'm intrigued about - it's has great reviews on CB!!

MidnightMeltdown · 04/10/2021 15:44

@Giftwithpurchase

Oh that's interesting. Now you're tempting me to give it a go!

I have brown eyes and olive skin and can get away with purple liner (though I very rarely wear any). Not sure about red, but I guess it could work... maybe...Confused

Housewife2010 · 04/10/2021 16:06

JL AC back in stock online. Announcement from Really Ree.

MidnightMeltdown · 04/10/2021 16:06

Just has another look at JL online and I don't think that it is out of stock. It's saying currently in stock online?

MidnightMeltdown · 04/10/2021 16:07

Maybe they had a website glitch

clary · 04/10/2021 16:16

haha I reckon they took it off stock to make us all wish we had bought it... now it's back and we are thinking oooh must get it now...

Or is that just me? Had no intention if getting it, deffo planning on CB :)

MidnightMeltdown · 04/10/2021 16:26

@clary

I expect that you're right 😂. So many go out of stock (ASOS, H&B etc) and then, as if by magic, they find more stock.

Besides, this is JL, not Cult Beauty, I don't think that they'd disappoint their customers by allowing their calendar to go out of stock on the morning it was released. All the older laddies would be in their stores complaining!
