Mine is sort of separated into the boxes you get beauty edits etc in. It's not terribly organised though. Moisturiser has its own box as there are enough of them. Then there is one of serums, cleanser, primers, another with hand and foot cream. and of course there is an "other" box which has, I think masks, lip balm, toner, eye pencils, eye creams etc.
Agree with @QueefofSheena re the eye cream. They last forever.

RockaLock I’m quite awed by this. I feel I need dedicated and capacious storage though.

MidnightMeltdown masks were something I was going to step up using. I’ve had some Hada Labo products that I’ve nearly used up, the eye cream is taking longer than the other stuff though. I need to plan for what’s next.

There's a thread on here where people lists empties and give reviews as well. I find that this helps me keep track of how much I'm using. I used up 8 products last month and 4 so far this month.

I'm aiming for another 12 before advent calendar opening starts. I really need to start remembering to use my face masks more often!

I do similar to @chloechloe - new stuff separated into make up, skincare and body + hair.

But I have so much and some of it ive had years (I gave loads to a food shelter last year) which is why I'm trying not to buy another calendar.

@frogface69
You can put your email on the Advent Calendar listing on the John Lewis site so you will get notified when it's back in stock.

@QueefofSheena

Does anyone have any tips on how to be more organised with your haul? I feel like I’m drowning in sample tubes and a million highlighters. I need to stop opening several of the same things at once too, like mascaras.

I have a list in a notes app on my phone, separated out into categories, and I make sure I add on any new purchases /GWPs and mark off any that I've finished.

I move items that I'm using to the top of each list, and make sure I don't start anything new before I've crossed off the opened one as being finished

I even add little notes saying what I thought of each product.

I realise this is somewhat sad.

Thanks for the replies, I really do need to use or lose the small stuff. I did plan to do a sort of ‘Korean skincare’ weekend routine each week too, but it rarely happens.

I have a queuing system for different products! 🤣🤣. The moisturiser line is particularly long at the moment!

I also tend to use the smaller products first to get them out of the way.

[quote chloechloe]plantingandpotting I’ve had Liberty for a few years but think it’s very uninspired this year - so many repeat products. I’m going for Cult Beauty but was also tempted by Space NK. F&M also looks good but does not deliver to the EU.

For those of you outside the UK lamenting the lack of choice, Zalando are doing a calendar which looks good (not available in the UK though):

I thought the Zalando one looked really good but unfortunately, their UK site is the one that services Ireland.

Oh, jigger it. The JL is out of stock. Serves me right for dithering I suppose. Is it likely to come back ? It was the price that made me sleep on it but I really want it now !

I did an inventory - written in my personal planner, easy to see what I have and does help me buy less..

I’ve separated my haul into bags of skincare, haircare, body and makeup and then shop the relevant bag when something has run out (or I’m getting bored).

@FredaFox

Selfridges has come!!!
It's now waiting on top of the wardrobe with my asos and mums bonne maman
Just need to get my mums M&S and I'm done.....unless there are any Black Friday bargains 😂
I love advent calendars so much!

Oooh I like the selfridges box with the lilac and gold. Never had a selfridges one before.

I was sold on Space NK but Im wavering & I had it last year. Liberty is also a disappointment. I think I will get the ASOS box tomorrow as there are a few things I’ll use.

ASOS is great value and tempting but products not for me, lots to like though. Flannels looks good also. Does anyone fancy a Janvent M&S thread?

Report
plantingandpotting · 07/10/2021 11:19

ooh, thanks @Housewife2010

That Flannels offering is a serious contender now. Love the make up bits and the fact there's lashes in there!

I'm feeling the need for a roaring 20s style December this year Gin
