anyone else still prefer skinny/slim fit jeans?

Or is it just moi? Grin

Im not too arsed with trends, but at 5'4 and slender I look like a chump in wide/mom/ even straight jeans. If slimmer jeans vanished off the market I'd probably just wear skirts.
We are all different so I know we all suit a variety of styles, but im wondering if there are more of us who still prefer a skinnier fit. This thread is for us!

Also would love to hear how you plan to 'update' the slimmer leg look this winter! Anyone have tips on how theyre making their skinnies stay 'current'?

@BitterTits

I'm really pleased that skinnies are dead. My legs look like sausages in them.
So do mine but at least they’re skinnier sausages. Wide legs just make them look like fatter sausages 🤣

Good point @EllaPaella about not wanting anything tight over your tummy. I'm the same and I also won't be tucking anything in for the same reason.

To he honest I don't own a pair skinny jeans now as O find them too restrictive on my calves. Mine are all slim, straight or boyfriend but I can still wear longer tops and jumpers with my slim and straight jeans.

@brokenbiscuitsx - Re sausages. You should copyright this quick. Coming to a store near you! Brotwurst Jeans and Saveloy Jeans! 😂

I see lots of students (that age-ish!) around where I live wearing wide or mom jeans cropped above the ankle and 99% look bloody awful. It's not a flattering cut or length unless you are very slim and quite tall.
I'm 5'8" and hourglass shaped and look terrible in mom jeans! Skinny jeans or bootcut with a heel.

OnceMoreOnToTheBeach · 20/09/2021 20:47

I love bootcut! I'm tall and top heavy, so the slightly flared bottoms even me out a bit.

I look terrible in skinnies or even straight cut.

adrianmolesmole · 20/09/2021 20:47

I still prefer them. They just look better than other cuts in my opinion and should be a staple in winter because they keep you warm and just look good with boots. I also like wearing them with a thick/long jumper in winter and they make me feel slim rather than boxy or chunky.

@MrsMaizel

It's very odd that all these tiny young girls are going about swathed in acres of cloth right now - the big baggy tracksuit bottoms eg . This is the age when you can flaunt it . I look back lovingly at my 19 year old self in photos and tight flares . As regards the jeans you should wear what you suit and is flattering to you . For me this is slim/skinny depending on the brand . My favourites are Levis shaping slim .
Why do they need to 'flaunt it'?

Another thread has reminded me; there is one thing which makes skinny jeans really useful - if you want to wear them under knee boots in winter (which I do, as it is the only thing which keeps out the cold and wet), skinnies are the best.

Last weekend we went for a family walk to a well known place. Lots of people there. i saw a woman wearing a shapeless pair of loose fitting jeans with a blouse. They were flared and frayed, flapping half way up her legs. I tried hard to see the appeal. They did nothing for her at all. If that is fashion i'll be buggered
OnceMoreOnToTheBeach · 21/09/2021 07:21

I did see a really young and pretty woman in huge trackies and hoodie recently. I honestly thought it is so much better now than when I was that age and everyone tottered about in fast fashion high heels they couldn't walk in and tiny dresses on a freezing night.

I love the athleisure look which was everywhere last year. If I wasn't so old and fat, I'd be all over it Grin
