@TempleofZoom - oops sorry! Yes I was in Jl too - someone went into the fitting rooms while I was there with an armful of mila boletes. Maybe it's one of us?

ScottishMouse · 11/09/2021 16:40

What a shame about the long awaited harlequin dress @MrsCat1.
@faustina, the denim dress looks fab on you. I don’t think it looks too big.
The sale cotton linen herringbone jacket arrived this morning and is a keeper. Definitely not worth the original price, but it will earn its keep at sale price. Not the most exciting of purchases, but will be very useful. For anyone interested, I sized up from the size I have in the Hal denim jacket (8 in the Hal, 10 in the herringbone, I am a 10 in Toast tops usually and closer to a 12 in the real world). Also, the caviar is a washed black, but works with some (not all) navy’s too.

Saurus72 · 11/09/2021 17:11

@faustina the dress looks really lovely on you. @MrsCat1 a shame about the harlequin dress - I’m not sure whether mine’s been delivered or not as we’ve gone away for a few days. The Royal Mail tracking number isn’t working though and I’ve had no text from them to say they’re delivering it. All very strange - it doesn’t sound hopeful though!

In a continuation of our Toastie outfits, we’re just about to head out for drinks and dinner in Edinburgh - my dress is from February last year, I haven’t worn it very often cos of you know what…

Stunning Saurus definitely a case of dresses looking better on real people that models, enjoy your dinner and drinks!

faustina · 11/09/2021 18:10

@Saurus72 - that is very nice!

Loved this thank you!

I had the wrap pinafore in my basket, so was thrilled to see it in the sale. It arrived this morning and I utterly love it. It's kind of like two aprons joined at the shoulder seam and you can be a bit creative with how you tie it. I wore it today on it's own, but in the next few weeks it will be equally great with a top under, or cardi over.
I'm delivering some training this week and it's the first time since the pandemic that we are face to face, and I think it will be perfect -comfy but smart and a bit "different ".

ToastCosILoveIt · 11/09/2021 19:30

Talking about seeing Toast in real life and wondering if it is one of us, I was at brunch with a girlfriend this morning and there was someone in the cafe with the pinky check dress that was around over the summer and was popping up on JL a lot in the sale. She looked good. I happened to be wearing Cos for a change so there was no Toast exchange glances.

Last Sunday I was wearing the Aster floral dress in the street and as i passed someone I could see her clocking it. She was wearing a Toast floral dress from a previous season but we passed too quickly for me to call out "Hello fellow Toastie"!

@KingofQueens, I think I made a mistake not buying the wrap pinafore dress. I had it on my save list and have liked the look of it since it first appeared but felt the discount wasn't high enough. Now it is sold out and I regret it....

You never know, keep a eye out, they might find some stock hiding.

A huge thumbs-up for the tiered poplin skirt; it's voluminous and has a deeply satisfying rustle when I walk. Too much for me at £165 but worth every penny of £80.

TheChattyRat · 11/09/2021 20:08

@Bakingtraypan I would love to see the ruffle shirt on. It's on my wish list...

I have it too and love it. Have worn it already. My sale stuff is all keepers. Black/red pihu skirt. Waist is teeny but sized up. Still slightly neat. Love it though. Poplin dress - love it. So elegant. Linen gingham vest, lovely but a bit on the big side.
Stoic123 · 11/09/2021 20:28

@faustina. Dress looks fab on you. Mine has been so useful.

Bought the Crinkled Cotton Check Dress today. Now that does come up even bigger- but gorgeous material/lovely weight.

Stoic123 · 11/09/2021 20:35

@TempleofZoom

Maybe if we see anyone in Toast clothing we start fiddling with our collar/neckline? 😂

Laska2Meryls · 11/09/2021 20:49

Has anyone received the Harlequin dress yet? Looking forward to seeing it!
I wont be getting any of my Toast sale stuff for two weeks 😢... This is because we are off on holiday on Monday and I have had to have my orders ( Pihu skirt, linen vest top and blue grown on sleeve tee) sent to my Dads address as we wont be here..

Laska2Meryls · 11/09/2021 20:53

I have no waist so have sized right up in the Pihu skirt ( to a 16!) But hopefully it won't be too voluminous elsewhere ... I may get it altered id so ... usually I am a Toast S or 12 in trousers, but I know Toast skirt waistbands from old .... always really neat fitting

Laska2Meryls · 11/09/2021 20:56

Often in Alix or linen trousers I have an Xs.. I do wish that they could be consistent in their sizes..
Tops ( because of norkage) I go for a Toast L , but I also have tops in S !!) .. its really annoying, not having a clue what to order because Toast sizes vary so much...

Stoic123 · 11/09/2021 21:06

Any tiered poplin skirt owners- what is the sizing like please?

neveradullmoment99 · 11/09/2021 21:21

Well I sized up but I would say my normal size would have been ok.

The waistband isnt generous on the Pihu.
