@Saurus72 - that is beautiful on you - I might try it on next time I go into a toast shop

AuldFox · 15/09/2021 22:29

@Theteapotsbrokenspout

After seeing that crinkled check dress on you *@Saurus72* I’ve decided it’s so nice I’ve had to order it. I ordered the small even though the website recommended a medium. I’m a busty 12 so hoping it will fit, all the reviews also suggest it’s very over sized. Couldn’t only order one thing so I’ve also got the wrap denim skirt coming.

Has anyone bought the Mila Bolete dress? I’m not really a 'yellow' person but I love the print, but at £170 I’m a bit hesitant.

I’ve seen the mila bolente dress and the website image is true to colour. It’s one of the loose cuts, I’d definitively size down.
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/09/2021 22:43

Thank you @AuldFox , it’s sold out in a 10 at the moment so at least that’s saved me trying to decide whether it’s worth the price 😁 .

neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 08:14

I ordered the mila bolette. Its neat on the bust. I have had other dresses like this and they are more generous. ( Have the pinwheel.)
If you don't have a bust, or are really slim backed, then a size below should be fine.
I have the 12 Atm in real life am a 12-14 and definitely would struggle with a 10 in the bust dept.
Its sadly bigger on the shoulders. Its a beautiful print though and true to pics.

neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 08:14

It also has no zip like other milas

neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 08:14

Unlike others I mean

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 16/09/2021 08:20

Hmmm that has put a whole new complexion on it @neveradullmoment99 maybe I should order the 12 🤔.

It also has no lining so needs a slip and I am sure other viscose dresses slightly shrunk for me.

neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 09:00

Its a difficult call as to whether to order 10 or 12 tbh. The fabric does have a bit of give.

crackegg · 16/09/2021 09:42

Hi, I’ve not purchased from Toast before, but recently fallen in love with their knitwear. I was very pleased to stumble across this thread and all you Toasties!

Has anyone bought the Wool Cotton Aran Cardigan? Is it as perfect as it looks? I’m concerned it looks short. Though I am only 5’4, so I’m hoping it won’t be an issue for me. Thanks in advance for any advice

ilovecherries · 16/09/2021 09:50

@savvy7

Does anyone know what happens with unsold sale items? I can see that the fading summer sale items are no longer on the website
They are usually really firm on sale end times and the items just disappear. I’ve found they won’t even do a direct swap for a different size when the sale ends. The items usually appear again in the next sale though - this year I did get the smaller size of a dress I tried and sent back two years ago.
neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 09:56

In the past @ilovecherries you used to be able to get things through the chat function. I did. It may have ended though with changes to website.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 16/09/2021 10:03

That looks lovely on you neveradullmoment I’ve decided to wait for the crinkled check dress and hopefully that will satisfy my dress need, otherwise I’ll see what sizes are left then. Still thinking £170 is a lot.

It is way too much for a dress that has no lining and is made of viscose imo.
neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 10:11

I think I will return it. Pity about that. Print is a beauty.

neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 10:11

I only really bought it to scratch the itch!

ToastCosILoveIt · 16/09/2021 10:16

@Theteapotsbrokenspout, I agree with @neveradullmoment99, the Mila is much smaller in the bust than other dresses of a similar design (and i have several of them). I am a high street busty 12 and have tried this dress on in Marylebone in a 12 and I definitely couldn't size down to a 10 as I can in so many other Toast dresses, including past versions of this style. Seeing all of this talk about the dress has made me go on line and buy it. Just as well as it now appears to be sold out in all but the 8.

I have also purchased the denim workwear dress in a 10 but am wondering, based on the reviews online, if I should have even sized down to an 8...

I must admit I have a small back size even though my cup size is large. The mila in a size 6 fit nicely around my bust and was completely loose elsewhere. I plan to purchase if it goes on sale, it’s too expensive for what it is full price. I have other Toast dresses in this cut, so sizing is straightforward for me.

Countmeout · 16/09/2021 10:43

That dress looks beautiful on you @neveradullmoment99. Love the colour.

AuldFox · 16/09/2021 10:50

@Countmeout

That dress looks beautiful on you *@neveradullmoment99*. Love the colour.
Agreed! The fit is good too (I like my dresses to fit similarly)

No, I tried recently and she said they had no capacity to do that, and once the sale ended, it was over. All she could suggest was phoning round shops to see if they had any stock.
neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 11:45

Yes @ilovecherries, that is what I suspected. Really helpful of them to say that to you [not!]
They really have become unhelpful. Remember I requested photos of the kanthas. Never had any email. Nothing. They clearly have 0 customer services now.

neveradullmoment99 · 16/09/2021 11:48

Thanks everyone for the + feedback on the dress. I slipped it in my wardrobe so perhaps its not going back after all. I am in love with the print. Strangely reminds me of the colours on a cadburys flake packet although its black with the yellow I think rather than navy. It also goes with the gorgeous yellow cardi you have @ilovecherries. Its th yellow cotton and wool one. Nearly said cotton wool lol...

faustina · 16/09/2021 13:37

what a shame about the shit customer service. I've quite often had to ask twice, or even three times, but usually in the end someone has done 'it' (whatever it was!). Very similar to John Lewis actually - if you get the right person it's brilliant

@neveradullmoment99 - do keep the dress, it looks so pretty
@ToastCosILoveIt - the shirt dress is VERY big. Size down!
