Snag tight?

I usually buy Primark cheapies but they're awful really. I'm a chubby 16 with short legs so they're either way too long or they dig in.

I'm balling at paying £20 odd quid for 3 pairs of tights though!

If you've found this page in search of tights that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best tights useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

I adore snag tights. They cost a bit more but are so comfy and the perfect fit. I buy a couple of pairs a month so I have loads of different colours. I don't buy any other brand now.

Winterfellismyhome · 27/08/2021 19:27

Love Snag tights!

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 27/08/2021 19:33

They are brilliant. Honestly, the best tights I have ever worn.

Makinglists · 27/08/2021 19:34

They are great. I am 5'8 and a chunky size 14/16 - they fit like a second skin and dont droop at the crotch. I buy size E and buy the thicker ones and they wash and wear very well. They also do some great colours.

StationView · 27/08/2021 19:37

Yes, definitely. I am evangelical about them!

Craftycorvid · 27/08/2021 19:37

Love Snags! So worth it for the comfort. I’m short and quite small (size 8-10) but with legs that have tackled a lot of the Pennine Way and have the muscles to prove it.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 27/08/2021 19:45

They are worth it. Trust me!

covetingthepreciousthings · 27/08/2021 19:54

Can anyone confirm if they're quite sturdy and long lasting?? I could do with some but usually every single pair of tights I put my finger through on the first wear Envy

Yes they are.

Snag tights are the best tights ever

FiveGs · 28/08/2021 11:31

Another one saying I love my Snags!

SmallGreenStripes · 28/08/2021 11:34

Yes snag tights are amazing.
Just got a pair of wool ones for autumn and they are

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 28/08/2021 11:35

Yes they are worth the money especially if you’re uncomfortable in normal ones.

Seagullsstopit · 28/08/2021 11:37

I've had a few pairs of mine for 2 winters so far
They are sooooo comfy, wash well, some of the older ones are bobbling around the ankles now, but I've had them for 2 years

OwlBasket · 28/08/2021 11:38

Sounds interesting but what makes them different to other tights? Different fibres? Different knit/weave? Im struggling to see how they can be that different to standard opaques without looking different tooConfused I wear a lot of tights and always feel bad about all the wasted fabric so, yeah, do tell!

OwlBasket · 28/08/2021 11:38

Wasted plastic I mean

Seagullsstopit · 28/08/2021 11:38

Oh, I constantly catch my nails on them too and they've not laddered or developed holes

cricketmum84 · 28/08/2021 11:40

Yep total game changer! I love my snags.

The chub rub shorts have completely changed my life (and I don't say that lightly).

SirVixofVixHall · 28/08/2021 11:40

My aunt is very short , possibly under five foot, and a size 16, she is in her seventies and only wears dresses so I thought i would put some tights in her Christmas stocking, this sounds positive, are they ok for her height ?

dannydyerismydad · 28/08/2021 11:42

They are super comfortable and suit my large bummed, tiny waisted shape well.

I've not torn or laddered any, but I do find they live up to their name and snag a bit.

The one downside is I feel like my thighs are getting bigger as the tights don't compress them to where I'd like them to be. But I think lockdown and sheer laziness is more to blame than the tights.

They have a useful looking sized guide based on height, dress size and whether you are a curvy or athletic build.
dudsville · 28/08/2021 11:47

I don't know their tights, but I recently purchased their thigh rub shorts and they are so light and comfortable. I thought it was a really good purchase. If you buy three then you get a discount. My plan was to return two if after trying one I didn't get on with them, but they were great.

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 28/08/2021 11:50

I love them. I'm 5'8 and a size 10, but I have very wide hips and have always struggled to find comfy tights. I would size up if you're between sizes, I measure a C but find a D more comfortable.

AntonMeyersNo1Fan · 28/08/2021 11:50

Another fan here plus DD15 had some fur school last year and they’re still going strong - she loves them and is a teeny tiny slip of a thing unlike me so they’re good for all shapes and sizes in our experience.

helentomelon · 28/08/2021 11:53

Yep they're brilliant. I don't know how they make them but they don't bobble or ladder and they size up width ways as well as length which is just brilliant as normal tights are just longer or shorter

I haven't ventured so far as to try the different colours but I love in my black opaques throughout autumn and winter

I believe it’s a different weave that stretches well in both directions whereas normal tights stretch more horizontally.
