I’ll usually get bits from

John Lewis
Marks and Spencer
Mint Velvet
Sometimes, Phase Eight and Next

I’m looking for suggestions for online shopping that I don’t know or are unknown.

Thanks.

Since turning 50, I’ve started to ignore the size label and brand, and buy stuff because I like it, not because it comes from the latest trendy store.

So I’ve brought stuff from Topshop, next, m and s, Fatface, joules, lily and me, Dorothy Perkins and even Bon Marche (which is surprisingly good for basics).

Choose clothes you like the look of- ignore the brand name!

Standrewsschool · 24/08/2021 17:20

@playdatesgalore

Brakeburn ! They have a sale on . Just ordered a mac, a jacket and a top all for £55 !
Don’t tempt me!
Mintjulia · 24/08/2021 17:21

White company, Jigsaw (sale), local independent boutique, Boden, Esprit (T-shirts), Hobbs.

It's getting harder to find things I like, that fit. Most tops and dresses now, I could have worn at 7 months pregnant.

Such a good idea for a thread.
Edmontine. I’ve not heard of most of the ones you’ve mentioned. I know what I’ll be doing this evening .

Edmontine · 24/08/2021 18:23

Have fun!

Edmontine · 24/08/2021 18:26

Just realised there’s a typo. It’s ‘Camiel Fortgens’ rather than whatever my phone preferred.

Hoppinggreen · 24/08/2021 18:28

Hush, uniqlo, Boden, local independent boutique and a designer 2nd hand agency who know my size and what I like so ring me when something comes in (nice Mulberry as new for £300 last week)

pourmeanotherglass · 24/08/2021 18:38

Really miss Debenhams and havent really got a new favourite.
Seasallt is good but i havent got one local.
Used to get stuff from fatface but havent seen anything i like there for a bit.
M and S are ok for basics like work trousers, cardies, leggings.
Sainsbury for jeans.

I’m 62. I don’t think shopping is about age, more style. For me;
& Other Stories
Boden
Hush
Baukjen
I am awaiting my first order from H&M sustainable range.

AnnieSnap · 24/08/2021 18:49

Oh and Sweaty Betty

AnnieSnap · 24/08/2021 18:55

@Edmontine

There are brands in there suited to our age.

Really hoping ‘our age’ means the 21st century!

Me too 😂🤣
Positivelyrandom · 25/08/2021 07:18

And Other Stories
Forgot about that one.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 25/08/2021 07:24

I'm 60 and shop absolutely everywhere, i won't wear clothes for older people. My only concession is not wearing sleeveless, I'll always put a jacket or short on a sleevless outfit and watch the neckline because of crepy neck.

Naaaaah · 25/08/2021 14:13

Holland and Cooper too.

SoupDragon · 25/08/2021 14:17

I get a lot from Esprit.

Jerseygirl12 · 25/08/2021 14:20
