With thanks to @MrsPear for starting the what item of clothing would you love to find but can't, what beauty item ditto? Makeup/skincare/hair/tools?

For me, an oil free, silicone free but long wearing foundation the colour of an extra milky latte coffee.

The perfect tinted lipbalm-the consistency of lansinoh with colour.

nopuppiesallowed · 19/08/2021 18:54

Another vote for dark eye circle remedy. I don't want to cover them up, I want them gone. And something for the lines above my lips and between my eyes. In fact, I want the elexir of youth....

Somersetlady · 19/08/2021 18:55

Totally magic. Comes out of the tube white. Develops to your skin tone instantly.

That was for you @SummaLuvin

@brokenbiscuitsx i too loved phwoar paint, i stocked up when boots discontinued the range, and was bereft when i finally ran out. i’ve found that primark do one really similar, it’s in a little pot and is pretty much exactly the same as phwoar paint. honestly the best £2.50 i’ve spent in ages! it comes in loads of different colours too.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 19/08/2021 18:59

@Suprima try the elf putty primer

sunshineandshowers21 · 19/08/2021 18:59

not sure if photo will upload but it’s called soft focus concealer.

Cocolapew · 19/08/2021 19:05

The bluey red lipstick I wore constantly 30 years ago from Next.
I want them to bring back Chloe Narcisse perfume, they discontinued it last year and Im gutted.

@Winederlust

A hair product that tames my wavy, frizzy, bushy hair and actually keeps it frizz free when there's a bit of moisture in the air, but isn't greasy or oily.
You need a Goldwell Keratin Treatment!! It does exactly what you're looking for!!

Thank you for this! I’m going to check this out too! When I heard they were discontinuing it I bought 21 (I think) of them!🤣 It didn’t actually cost me that much as they were buy 2 get 3rd free and used a lot of points. Lasted me ages! ☺️

@LemonCandle

Something that successfully covers (or cures) dark shadows around the eyes. Had it as a teenager and now, in my mid 40s, it's back, back, back!
Same thing. Considering tear trough filler. Mine are permanent though, yours might be lifestyle related as they come and go.
Gwenhwyfar · 19/08/2021 19:47

@buntywindermere

A concealer that covers my very very wrinkly under eye area, making it looks fine line free, and doesn't leave the area completely dry and patchy. I have tried them ALL.
Same.
@InTheNameOfAllThatIsHonest thanks for the coconut oil tip, it's probably the one thing I haven't tried yet!
I've tried everything and just before switching to coconut oil years ago, I was on the Shu Uemura high performance balancing oil. Coconut oil is a better make up remover, and a fraction of the price. Some people say it's not good for your skin but I've been using it for nearly ten years and my skin is looking rather good. I put a tablespoonful of coconut oil in the palm of one hand, rub it between my hands to melt it if it's solid, then rub it all over my face. Afterwards I take a flannel, run it under warm water, wring it, and use it to remove the oil from my skin. Then I moisturise. I wouldn't use anything else now.

A fake tan that doesn’t make my spotty legs look like orange peel.

A fake tan that doesn’t make my orange pigmented knees and milk bottle white legs look weird

A tablet that makes leg and armpit hair drop out and never return lol

allfurcoatnoknickers · 19/08/2021 19:54

A replacement for Becca Aqualumious. So a sheer foundation in a fair shade with yellow undertones. Can't find one!!

Have you tried the tinted lanolips?

A dupe for the Waitrose baby bottom butter - I make my own but would like to find a dupe.
Ooh I used to love this. How do you make your own?
ViciousChicken · 19/08/2021 20:59

An oil-free moisturiser for more mature skin. So nothing ‘mattifying’. I’d like to glow, and I’d like a decent amount of moisture. I don’t have oily skin but any oil in products does make me break out in whiteheads and spots, especially on my chin.

peppermintpat · 19/08/2021 21:05

@SummaLuvin

A natural looking, lightweight skin tint that works for oily skin - why do cosmetic companies assume that I want 36hour wear, super matte, full coverage just because I'm oily?!?!
Yes! Me too. 47 and very very oily but no spots.
Jerseygirl12 · 19/08/2021 21:08

A foundation I can tolerate the feel of, other than on my wedding day I can’t wear the stuff. It makes feel a bit claustrophobic and I have to wipe it all off.

Same sort of skin. I use The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors (oil and silicone free) mixed with a drop of their Hyaluronic Acid+B5 serum (ditto). It's been a game changer.

@NotMyCat
Thanks, yes I've tried the tinted lanolips, they are not as thick as lansinoh.

Bertiebiscuit · 19/08/2021 22:09

Decades ago Mary Quant makeup sold a very chic black powder compact, with a gorgeous translucent shade that had flecks of gold in it - for years I was never without one, using it every day - but if course the make up line is defunct now and I have been searching fruitlessly for something similar but have never found anything even half as good so I settle for cheap translucent powder from any brand - I would sell my soul for something as good as that powder was

KhalliWhalli · 19/08/2021 22:18

@peaceanddove I am a cosmetic formulator specialising in self tanning products. We could make this, but one thing you’d have to bear in mind is that the palms of your hands and soles of your feet would also tan!
