With thanks to @MrsPear for starting the what item of clothing would you love to find but can't, what beauty item ditto? Makeup/skincare/hair/tools?

For me, an oil free, silicone free but long wearing foundation the colour of an extra milky latte coffee.

@LemonCandle

Something that successfully covers (or cures) dark shadows around the eyes. Had it as a teenager and now, in my mid 40s, it's back, back, back!
Colour corrector does wonders for me, then a bit of concealer over the top I use the Becca one (but it's being discontinued as the whole brand is going!) it seems to sort of reflect light off the dark circles then add concealer snd it's magical
Suprima · 19/08/2021 08:49
@Suprima I have a red tub - Clarins that works very well.
When I get myself up for a coffee I'll find it an update you!
Great!

Deathraystare · 19/08/2021 08:49

@ pheonixrebirth

Not sure if it is the same but I bought the one in a plastic tube from a pharmacy. Perhaps it is just repackaged?

girlwhowearsglasses · 19/08/2021 08:59

tops and dresses with straps - but not spaghetti ones! If you have a large bust you need nice wide straps - maybe 2cm or an inch, in nice fabric or ribbon. You need to cover your bra straps and need width to stop digging and bumps either side of straps.

Ditto bras - I wouldn't mind a nice inch wide strap that looks well if seen.

The perfect long length nightie that isn't flannel with characters on it, but isn't delicate silk with lace either. Needs to be supportive but not tight, and not low in the front, but not high either. Needs to be sleeveless, but, again, not spaghetti straps!

Not asking much am I?

girlwhowearsglasses · 19/08/2021 09:00

I've just realised this is make up not clothes!
The brick red lipsick I had ten years ago from Rimmel

IWantAllTheDogsInTheWorld · 19/08/2021 09:18

@InTheNameOfAllThatIsHonest thanks for the coconut oil tip, it's probably the one thing I haven't tried yet!

Gotthetshirt23 · 19/08/2021 09:20

@Suprima it's called Instant Smooth , I've got a mini pot as well as a larger pot so you may be able to get a trial at a Clarins counter or online ?

Works for me - sebaceous glands / large pores etc

Hope it works for you !

Gotthetshirt23 · 19/08/2021 09:22

@Suprima eBay has loads
Apologies should have looked before I messaged

Farevalah · 19/08/2021 09:25

A nail varnish that makes my nails look healthy, I've tried Dior nail glow which I didn't rate. Aldi Lacura used to do a nail whitener that was amazing but I haven't seen it for a few years.
I've tried lots of others, Essie, Mavala etc but nothing works.

MintyGreenDream · 19/08/2021 09:37

@IWantAllTheDogsInTheWorld baby lotion,I've used it for years. It doesn't sting and removes everything

pinkgin85 · 19/08/2021 10:29

Something to treat or cover hollow under eye area :( there is stuff for dark circles, wrinkles but nothing to make the hollowness better!

Magpiecomplex · 19/08/2021 10:40

A red lipstick which doesn't go either orange or pink on me! I found one once, cheap in Superdrug, but never again. Sad

PerditaNitt · 19/08/2021 10:44

A magic wand to hide my acne scars. Primers are helpful and a good foundation improves them, but I would love to see my face without them entirely.

I would also love a citrus/bergamot perfume that lasts for more than 20 mins on my skin!

I think that the L’Oréal magic touch root spray is the type of product that we would have dreamed of on this type of thread 10 years ago. That is as great example of an innovative product.

beguilingeyes · 19/08/2021 11:05

@ChiefInspectorParker and gives you a beautiful golden tan at the same time.

Blossomandbee · 19/08/2021 11:14

A foundation that can really deal with oily skin. Everything slides off my t zone. Doesn't matter whether I use it alone, with primer, setting spray, powder...nothing stays matte beyond an hour on me.

As others have said too, I would like something that gives an easy mess free tan.

Something that sorts out frown lines.

SummaLuvin · 19/08/2021 14:29

@PerditaNitt I don’t know the cost and how effective it is but laser treatments can be used to reduce the look of scarring and dark spots.

PerditaNitt · 19/08/2021 14:33

Thank you @SummaLuvin. I have had lots of different treatments over the years (medical grade dermaroller was the best) and my skin is as good as it’s going to get now (no dark patches and the scars aren’t deep). Whenever I’m tired and dehydrated they are more visible. I’m lucky that I consider it a minor annoyance rather something which significantly impacts my confidence (wish I could go back and tell my 20 year old self to worry about it less!)

TabithaTiger · 19/08/2021 14:35

Hair serum that smooths my hair and makes it shiny, but not greasy.

A black liquid eyeliner that goes on smoothly and doesn't smudge

Have you tried huda or fenty? Both disastrous on my dry skin! Also a setting spray under foundation

NYX epic ink or the haus labs liner have never budged on me

Tear trough filler. Not cheap but it really works (and no, it's not painful).

Some wonder product that would hide the deep pleats in my upper lip. And I've never smoked, either, most unfair.

DagenhamRoundhouse · 19/08/2021 18:19

Something that would get rid of rosacea.

brokenbiscuitsx · 19/08/2021 18:29

*A concealer like no17s phwoar paint. It’s discontinued now and I have tried many since including high end and nothing comes close. It was the holy grail, thick, good coverage and lasted all day too.

If anyone has found something similar I’d be interested in hearing any recs m ☺️
I think this was a dupe for the Benefit Bo’ing concealer. Used to come in a similar tub, but now is in a stick form.*

Amazing @Suprima thank you! No harm giving it a whirl!

Tomasinabombadil · 19/08/2021 18:46

@Oldraver

I want a pair of Startrite t-bar sandals but they now only go up to a size 12.5. OH has a blue pair from about 20 years ago so know they did go up to a 6 but no more
These Red or Dead are on EBay. They state colour Navy Blue which the photo doesn’t really show very well. I’be got two pairs one in dark cherry red & one in navy blue, bought years ago, they are really comfortable.🙂
