Can’t see a thread so I thought I’d start one. Yes, it’s unbelievably early, but I noticed Glossybox have already revealed their Advent Calendar contents for this year. Saw this reveal on YouTube this morning:

Have to say it doesn’t wow me, but there’s plenty of time and many more Advent Calendars to come, I’m sure! Grin

Would the rituals one be good @tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz, so more stuff for body than face?

Piccalino3 · 01/09/2021 19:35

I want to know what's in the Liberty calendar. Come on Liberty...

I was hoping it would be today Sad

I'll have a look at Rituals, thanks. I am a sucker for nice body lotion and hand cream

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 01/09/2021 20:14

If anyone is looking at the Lumene.one last year I got it via Feel Unique. A lovely poster on last years thread gave us a discount code (20% I think) and there was a GWP if you spent £100+. The Calendar was £89 I think so after the discount and lots of little bits I ended up with so much stuff for just over £100 so that may be worth considering.

I liked the Lumene stuff but as a few others have commented, it wasn't quite as exciting all being the same brand. Oh and the full size mascara disappears on my piddly lashes too Sad

CountryCob · 01/09/2021 21:08

M&S have a page in beauty that refers to the advent calendar but no date/ details/ commitment style announcement. I thought it wouldn’t be there though if they weren’t doing one…

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 01/09/2021 21:12

I read a couple of advent calendars round ups (Cosmo and independent, I think) which both included M&S for thei year but said details TBC

Lumene is actually the only single brand advent calendar that tempts me - mainly because I've never tried the brand but have heard lots of good things about it. I can't really justify it though as I've already ordered F&M, and I will probably get Liberty and M&S too. However, if Liberty or M&S is a let down then I might consider it...

Piccalino3 · 01/09/2021 21:24

Oh and what about Net-a-Porter and Harrods - why is everyone so late this year??!

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 01/09/2021 22:21

Midnight your options sound fantastic!

MidnightMeltdown · 01/09/2021 22:37

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz

It's my little treat to myself to get me through the winter Grin

I buy very little in terms of beauty products throughout the rest of the year though.

I just came on to post that too, while browsing the new Christmas stuff I noticed the advent calendar notice, so good news for those hoping for the return of it this year. www.marksandspencer.com/c/beauty-box

I'm also very impatient to see what the Liberty contents are!

The Next calendar actually looks quite good for £69:

10% off beauty at Liberty today.

BurningTheToast · 02/09/2021 08:45

I like the look of the Next one - thanks for flagging that @RockaLock. Last year I sent the men's one to my son and he thought it was great. He was quite pleased that I'd stopped sending a Lego advent...

Last year I succumbed but I think part of it was FOMO. This year I'm probably going for Next as I'll use a lot of the contents and possibly M&S. And I'll keep one for January as it is the worst, darkest, most miserable month for me!

Next gets bonus points for the lack of black eyeliner. Sizes are small but for the price that's perfectly reasonable. It looks like a good one (although the This Works spray haters should avoid Grin)

RockaLock · 02/09/2021 09:23

Ochon, good point, I did Hmm at the pillow spray!

TheDuchessOfMN · 02/09/2021 09:35

I really like the Next one, but I got that exact Mac lipstick in an advent calendar 2 years ago and it was completely dried out, completely unusable on my lips. I’m not sure if it was just a dud or if that’s the way it is… surely not, as it’s an expensive and popular brand

Eagerly awaiting Liberty Grin

AprilLady · 02/09/2021 10:00

I’ve been quite impressed with some of the Next beauty boxes over the year, and I agree the Next calendar is looks pretty good. Smallish sizes but lots of classic products from classic brands at a reasonable price. And they haven’t tried to artificially inflate the value by including Avant type products at stupid prices.

LarsErickssong · 02/09/2021 10:03

The Next calendar looks great I would consider getting that and the H&B. I had been wavering over the price of CB which is top of the list for me at the minute as this month is going to be a very expensive month for me for various other reasons, but I've just found out I'm getting a pay rise from this month so I'm back to thinking I'll get it Grin

Nearlyadoctor · 02/09/2021 10:34

I know The Body Shop isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but Dd has had one for the past 3 years, although slightly disappointing last year that there was no new Christmas items in it. I had the Arran one but a PP mentioned it was a bit like having a calendar full of travel lodge toiletries.
This year we were going to splash out on the expensive BShop one , but having seen the contents it’s mainly hand cream, body lotion, body butter. There are 3 hand creams all in the old style packaging which has been revamped recently. The mid price one only has a full size shampoo this year whereas normally shampoo and conditioner (FS). No Christmas products either!!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 02/09/2021 11:41

The Next one is definitely a contender for me. Maybe coupled with M&S.

Alternatively, one big one. So far, CB is the only one of those I would consider. Waiting to see what Liberty are offering.

PomRuns · 02/09/2021 11:53

I also like the look of next. I might get instead of rituals. Plus either Fortnums or Liberty.
And M and S 😳

FreshApricot · 02/09/2021 12:36

I'm desperate to know what's in the Liberty one. I've been talking myself into getting it as a treat after a difficult year - but only if it's really good!

clary · 02/09/2021 13:32

This is tough! I love the look of the F&M one and fancy the posh day creams, but it has no make up, and I do like a bit to push me into wearing some. Also not sure I would use room sprays...

OTOH CB has too much makeup and that looks a bit samey...like the sound of the serum and the palette looks just what I need. Aaargh.
