Can’t see a thread so I thought I’d start one. Yes, it’s unbelievably early, but I noticed Glossybox have already revealed their Advent Calendar contents for this year. Saw this reveal on YouTube this morning:

Have to say it doesn’t wow me, but there’s plenty of time and many more Advent Calendars to come, I’m sure!

Penhaligon have released details of theirs - £375 with mostly small sample sizes so a bit expensive in my opinion. Box is a thing of beauty though - beautyadventcalendar.net/penhaligons-advent-calendar-2021/

If only companies would be open about whether they have to have their products tested on animals to sell in China, so that we could make informed decisions. But I'm guessing that would hurt a lot of sales, so...

Not that bothered about Penhaligon - they haven’t got my favourite (Artemisia) in anyway. Just as a funny aside, a friend of mine bought her DH a box set of their colognes for Christmas last year. Luckily she caught him late on Christmas Day opening one of the bottles to pour into a glass. He hadn’t read the label properly and thought they were flavoured gins.

18th September for Space NK according to the email I got today. I don't know if people on the waiting list and/or in their loyalty scheme get a crack at it a bit sooner though? I didn't get one last year.

One year I got 5 advents there is no hope for me I was quite tame last year with just two - Amazon & H&B. I started in November - had withdrawal symptoms in January... what does everyone else do if they have multiple ones?

One year I saved one for my birthday month…August, it was fab!

Last year was the first year I had multiples. I started Lumene and the homemade one based on the CEW beauty edit on Dec 1st. LF arrived mid December so I started that one then but on the correct date so went back to the 1st after the 25th.

To be honest, it was a bit much. I think keeping one for jadvent would have been a good idea but I really liked the discussion each day on here and I wouldn't have had that in January.

I opened my LF in December and H&B in Jan (I think) but agree with Ochon that part of the fun is following on the threads at the same time as everyone else

I had the feel unique one last year but not loving this years one and what’s with all the price increases? I paid around £90 last year. Previously also had the ASOS one, latest in beauty and a Harrods beauty one. So far not loving any of them really holding out hope for the Cult beauty one which I couldn’t get last year.

So lovely to see the old people here from last year. Hope the delivery problems disappear this year!

I had two and really enjoyed opening the December one, but less so the January. I think I'll stick to one this year - sadly the Liberty (which was a gift from SIL) has spoilt me, so need to decide which to go for. I think I'll only get one for DD too, as last year it was a bulk opening in January, that somehow lost the excitement.

Only three months to go........(until we start opening!)

Given the general demographic on here I'm pretty sure I'm old .

But yes, great to see the returners. Last year was a lovely series of threads, particularly with you and others being so kind to me over the LF debacle.

Last year I had Glossybox and while overall I thought it was decent, there were a fair few things that I just wouldn’t use. I do love the iconic eyeshadow palette though. That fast became the favourite in my collection!
I’m not keen on Huda beauty and I find the eyeshadows have very little colour payoff so I’ll miss it this year.

I’m hoping for Cult Beauty, Space NK or Liberty. I fancy a real treat this year. I really want Cult beauty to be good. It was top of my list last year until I saw the Huda beauty eyeshadow and went off it.

what does everyone else do if they have multiple ones?

I have been known to have a quick riffle through when they arrive. I remove any dud items that I don't want and replace with items that I do want from another calendar

I've always forgotten what's in there by December!

Can I just say I’m so glad people are enjoying this thread. I was unsure about starting it. I thought I might get my head bitten off by people saying it was too early! Personally I love Christmas and the run up to it with Halloween and Bonfire Night, so all this speculation about advent calendars just adds to it for me. I lead a very boring life..…!

I’ve NC’d since last year but I was on the thread. Had Glossybox, Rituals and Arran, thought the Arran one was rubbish. This year I’m either going to get M&S if they do one, or a more spendy one. Just can’t decide which.

I hope the M and S one returns this Christmas. I got the £59 Rituals one last year but although all the products were perfectly nice and usuable it just wasn't the same as being on the M and S daily opening thread.
