As an avid reader of Just 17, I used to practice poses exactly like that in front of my mirror in the '80's, in the hope that the boy I fancied might notice me. Never did, as I must just have looked constipated or crazy.

The camera angle was weird though, they were filming her from the side most of the time.
DH walked in and said "what has she done to her face?"
