The Lego hair and super hero gloves comments have both given me a good laugh!

CliffsofMohair · 28/07/2021 21:14

Withering remarks

merrymouse · 28/07/2021 21:25

I suspect she is really good at controlling troublesome horses (if not always dogs) - perhaps that superpower can also be used on humans!

iknowimcoming · 28/07/2021 21:26

@merrymouse

She's like HM, always wears gloves

I think they would look better in a white or neutral shade. Unless evening wear dark gloves are more ‘super hero needs to protect humanity from special powers’. (Obvs Anne could also be secret super hero).

Yes sorry, I meant it was the colour choice that was odd, not the actual wearing of the gloves, the dark blue doesn't go with either outfit IMO

I LOVE the green dress Kitty's is wearing! I also like the blue one but it's got that slightly see-through basque like bodice which is just a little bit too risqué for my taste

mathanxiety · 28/07/2021 21:38

I'd say Fergie's spirit animal is a galumphing great lovable labrador with no brakes and a waggy tail that knocks stuff over.

Omg I LOVE Kitty's green dress too. Just....wow. And the necklace is beyond fabulous.
Hmm - Anne's superpower is cutting through BS! Also feigning interest when inspecting sewage plants and random car parks! 👍

LadyEloise · 28/07/2021 23:22

The blue and green dresses are stunning. Kitty looks great.
Great PR for Dolce and Gabbana.

Do we need a picture of the thread mascot, Prince Charles of Luxembourg? I think so.

We can never have too many pictures of Prince Charles! What a poppet!

AdaColeman · 29/07/2021 13:09

Just saw the first few words of Maireas's post, and thought it was going to be about the hilarious photo on the front page of today's Telegraph of Charles & Boris in the rain.

Boris is in his crumpled charity shop suit, unable to open his umbrella, whilst Charles is impeccably turned out as usual, with his side eyes look saying "What a Wally". An unguarded royal moment!

Eaumyword · 29/07/2021 13:19

We need to do a Neil. The Baby from Gavin and Stacey and call him Charles. The Baby.
I spluttered on my Diet Coke at M of Pearl calling Charles a poppet until I saw the photo, lol!Grin

Maireas · 29/07/2021 15:09

I'll need to find that one, AdaColeman!
Be careful, last time someone asked for a picture of Prince Charles' chubby legs, you know what I posted! 😁

I realised I was a generation older than the mothers I was friends with in my breastfeeding group when I said to my newborn son ‘oh. It’s me. Your mother’.

Blank faces all round.

Eaumyword · 29/07/2021 16:03

@CliffsofMohair I so get it. Genuine.
I'm old too Grin

LoganRoy · 29/07/2021 17:13

Tidy. Have you done Osama vs Obama yet? I wonder what the Biden equivalent would be.

Kitty looks poised but not exactly happy imho.

Timetoreflect · 29/07/2021 17:43

Fergie looks like she’s going to Filey for a Steam punk weekend

Maireas · 29/07/2021 17:58

Oh my goodness! She does, @Timetoreflect!

Had Charles and Diana stayed together, today would've been their 40th wedding anniversary. I can't quite believe 1981 was 40 years ago!!

Maireas · 29/07/2021 20:43

I know. I remember watching it on tv like it was yesterday! Such a huge event, and so memorable.

I was only tiny but I remember watching it with my mum.

Me too! It was so fairytale to 10yr old me but I look at footage now and just think bless her, she was practically a teenager. Anyway, there we go, it's a part of history now.
Maireas · 29/07/2021 21:51

She looked thrilled to bits, though! It seemed like a very happy day.

Wow - takes me back - we went to my Aunt & Uncles to watch it & then afterwards my Mum & Aunt watched The Sound of Music - first time I had seen it - they were "lusting" after Christopher Plummer - my teenage self did an eye roll at how "old"he was Smile
