Best deodorant for dryness & smell?

TomAllenWife · 20/07/2021 23:29

So last week I bought a Sure Max Strength stick, it's shit, I'm not dry and I smell worse than I would with normal deodorant

Usually use a sanex roll on or sure invisible spray

Anyone got any great suggestions please?

Wow so Mitchum pretty unanimous
I'll be off to boots later

I like the idea of swapping summer & winter as I agree that they do tend to stop working so well.

Thank you

I use Men's Dove or L'Oréal for men (orange and turquoise can)

I also use women's stuff to top up.

gogohm · 21/07/2021 10:32

I use lidl men's roll on (well unisex)

Tinkletwat · 21/07/2021 10:39

I have about 4/5 that I rotate on a daily basis as they seem to become ineffective on me after a while. Mitchum, Sanex, Sure cool blue (the others don't seem to work as well for me).

Janaih · 21/07/2021 10:44

Sticks and roll ons just don't work for me. But I always used Mitcham because everyone says it's the best.
I once ran out and had to use a lynx spray anti perspirant deodorant that I got for Xmas and was amazed. Sprays all the way now. Currently using sure with flowers on, it smells very pleasant.

This Mitchum. It’s usually £5 but £4 at the moment. It’s hardcore Mitchum.

Mitchum roll on and let it dry before putting on a top (I often use hair dryer if in a hurry).

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 21/07/2021 10:59

I like Mitchum

Three0fivepointfour · 21/07/2021 11:29

Mitchum roll on. If you find the unscented stock up as it’s not always easy to find. Sometimes it’s in the men’s section. The Mitchum with scent smells rank IMO.

FiveShelties · 21/07/2021 11:33

Another Mitcham fan, have been using it for years.

elsaesmeralda · 21/07/2021 11:40

I might try this Mitchum stuff looks pretty popular ! I hate sprays they always give a sweaty smell after a while, roll ons work much better for me. There is a dove one I use cucumber and green tea or something and hinestly I do not smell at all with it even in this heat

GreyJeans · 21/07/2021 13:31

Dove for Men, the stick version works really well for me. It doesn't smell particularly manly. I prefer it to the mitchum stick.

TomAllenWife · 21/07/2021 18:12

Thanks to everyone on here

I bought the Mitchum spray to cover back, under boobs etc and the invisible roll on for under arms

I have very sweaty pits and think I'll try the men's ones too. I like the dove cream one and have just bought some for my sweaty teens. I miss Sure cool pink. The smell of my younger self.

spinningspaniels · 21/07/2021 18:23

I've tried most. Sure max, Mitchum men and women, Odaban, Trust.

Then I got a beauty box which had a natural deodorant in..... www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/native-unearthed-natural-deodorant-balm-activated-charcoal-60017090 and it's honestly changed my life. You have to use it sparingly as the bicarb can really irritate if you use too much, but I get no odour whatsoever.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 21/07/2021 18:29

I wonder why some antip/deos stop working on some people after x amount of time so you then have to use another brand then the same thing happens again then again?
Then you go back to the original brand your were using a year or 2 ago & it works perfectly for a a good while then the whole chopping & charging cycle starts again?
Does your skin flora change depending on what soap, washing powder you use or because of the food you eat, medication you take or illness?

peppermintpat · 22/07/2021 18:58

I'm late to the party with this one but if you have problem sweat then Perspirex applied at night practically stops the sweat ( and personally I only need to use it once a fortnight at bedtime then shower off in the morning), then you can use ANY roll on, spray etc that you fancy each day just as a back up (or booster). It itches like mad on application but soon wears off. You must shower it off in the morning.

PufferFish · 22/07/2021 19:10

Another vote for Mitchum. The expensive cream one. I tried the invisible gel which was the same price but it was sticky and made my underarms burn.
The cream one is £5, but worth every penny. I also use it on the inside of my thighs in warm weather if I’m wearing a skirt/dress. It works a treat, doesn’t show and doesn’t irritate my skin. It resolves both the thighs sweat and chub rub problem in one fell swoop Grin

heaveho · 22/07/2021 19:17

Mitchum black and white spray for meeeee

MerylSqueak · 22/07/2021 19:26

I find Mitchum stick gets a bit soft in th heat. I'm currently using Bionsen spray. I like the smell and it works well.

Juancornetto · 22/07/2021 21:00

@Divineswirls

And wash pits with bar soap not shower gel. It makes a big difference
I find this makes a massive difference
MrsBa · 22/07/2021 21:40

I can't get on with roll- ons it's like spreading jam under my arm pits, it goes all sticky and won't dry, are the sticks and creams the same? would love to not have to use sprays

NecklessMumster · 22/07/2021 22:07

Mitcham have changed the fragrance....or is it me? The pink or yellow one now smells worse than sweat so have to use the unfragranced one, and there's one that leaves no white marks

thenightsky · 22/07/2021 22:13

This one dries really bloody quick. I keep trying others, but always return to this. You have to make sure you pick up the one with the little logo that says 'quick drying' though.

Second the Mitchum cream one. Loads better than anything else I’ve tried. I try and get the mens one as the womens versions all smell really sweet to me.
