Is this a suitable outfit for summer wedding?

I am going to a wedding in a few weeks and cannot find a dress I like so I'm leaning towards a top/skirt combo. I know black isnt really the done thing for a wedding but can I get away with it as the skirt breaks it up a bit?
Would appreciate any input!
Also I'm not tall just average, top is just an example of the bardot style I like

I thought that too @wanderedlonelyasacloud but thought it could be dressed up with the top? It's not informal, and my partner is best man so I dont want to look dressed down!

Too informal unless the wedding is at a beach. The skirt looks a bit like a sarong

I don’t think it would work for best man partner, I think it looks very casual. The material of the top is the problem.

I'll be honest op especially as you say a formal wedding and your oh is best man I think that's just too casual

I used to work in the industry.

Is it a church wedding? If so many churches would prefer visitors not wear quite such a revealing top either, especially for a formal occasion.

I mean I doubt anyone would say anything to you on the day out of politeness, but I think people would think it was too casual

And yes black is considered a faux pas for many Uk weddings

Somewhere between office wear and pub casual is where you want to hit the mark. Hard to make suggestions without knowing your details though.

The black wouldn’t have bothered me at my wedding but the first outfit looks too casual (although nice) and the second is awful. Sorry.

The dress is better although the cut/drape at the back looks a bit odd in the video!

Sorry OP, top and skirt far too casual. And whilst the dress is lovely, it's not wedding material. Most weddings I've been to are quite formal.

Love both outfits but think they're a bit causal. What about something a little more formal from NFD?

Disclaimer - I am no fashion expert! I don't know what's "in" at the moment but I think for a wedding you go classic anyway, not least as high fashion dates in the photos REALLY quickly!
