Is this a suitable outfit for summer wedding?

I am going to a wedding in a few weeks and cannot find a dress I like so I'm leaning towards a top/skirt combo. I know black isnt really the done thing for a wedding but can I get away with it as the skirt breaks it up a bit?
Would appreciate any input!
Also I'm not tall just average, top is just an example of the bardot style I like

@NotTheCatsWhiskers I think it depends who it’s on but could do 😂 I’ve seen a few people wear satin slip dresses to weddings this year and they can look gorgeous

H&m have a gorgeous black and camel stripe satin slip dress which I think would look fab with strappy sandal and an oversized blazer.
A lot of these dresses are giving me mother of the bride vibes you can still be modern for a wedding x

I like those slip dresses too with a boxy blazer or even one of those embroidered padded jackets with the wide sleeves?

I would invest in some seamless nude knickers and a strapless nude bra?

The Karen Millen one is really lovely- grey blazer, sliver stroppy sandals and a big oversized clutch would look so good!
