Should I keep this dress?

Or does it look frumpy? I love the colours (although not sure if they suit me) and it's 100% cotton which is a bonus. Not too keen on the belt and it's on wonky because of the way it was attached with the security tag.

Should I keep this dress?

Does it make you feel amazing?
I think it looks great! Relaxed chill vibes with birkenstocks

ArtfulScreamer · 24/06/2021 12:36

I think if you have to ask the answer is no. It looks like it burys you and whilst I like the colours I don't think it does all that much for you.

Mocha1978 · 24/06/2021 12:38

I agree with above. It looks fine but if there are a few issues and you dont feel instantly comfortable in it it will languish in your wardrobe-I speak from bitter experience!

DinosaurDiana · 24/06/2021 12:38

If you’re asking for my opinion then it’s a no as the pattern looks like curtain or table cloth material. But if you like it, keep it.

Watchingthetelly · 24/06/2021 12:40

In theory it's a nice dress but, in reality, I think it swamps you.

ShirleyPhallus · 24/06/2021 12:41

It’s too big for you, it swamps you

BungleandGeorge · 24/06/2021 12:41

I like the skirt but I’m not sure about the top section. Can tell as you’re atm is in the way! What’s the neckline like?

idontlikealdi · 24/06/2021 12:46

No i get it's oversized but it just looks too big on you.

peachescariad · 24/06/2021 12:46

Sorry it's a no - very unflattering. Pattern too big

rookiemere · 24/06/2021 12:49

I'm not sure when you'd wear it. It's too statementy to weat as a casual dress, but not smart enough to be a dressy dress.
I also suspect you have an excellent figure that's somewhat drowned in there.

Paq · 24/06/2021 12:59

That dress is wearing you rather than the other way round.

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking · 24/06/2021 13:02

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll have to accept that this current trend for midi dresses is not for me!

I like it!! The silhouette is very now, very stylish! The look of midi/maxi dresses just takes getting used to when you haven’t worn them before. The pattern is also right in trend. Basically if you feel good in it, take a chance and go for it! Sometimes it’s good to change things up a bit.

3littlerabbitsss · 24/06/2021 13:11

(Speaking as a recent convert to maxi dresses who always thought they’d swamp me etc. I bought one, think it looks great, and it is so so comfortable to wear!)

Wishingwell75 · 24/06/2021 13:26

Ooh is that from Mango? I keep looking at it on ASOS. I love it and I actually think it looks really good on you. This is one time that I haven't read all the responses on this thread before commenting myself so have no idea what the general consensus is, but as I said, I really like it. Does it feel nice on? I love the colours too

LakeShoreD · 24/06/2021 13:30

I like the shape of it but the pattern makes it looks like you had an unfortunate mishap on a day out and are having to wear the picnic blanket.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 24/06/2021 13:31

I love it

MrMeSeeks · 24/06/2021 13:34

I think its amazing.
If you like it wtf cares what other people think? What do you think?

TiddleTaddleTat · 24/06/2021 13:38

I think it would be better as a skirt. The top half swamps you. Full midi skirt belted at the waist might be a better bet?

ChuckNoWorriesMyWay · 24/06/2021 13:40

Honestly, it looks like you have an amazing body underneath a large printed potato sack. It also doesn't look summery at all.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/06/2021 13:41

I really love it. I don't think it swamps you, I think it's the style.

JaneJeffer · 24/06/2021 13:41

I like it. It's very Lucinda Chambers.

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking · 24/06/2021 13:42

Yes it is from Mango @Wishingwell75 Got it in the sale today.

There's quite a difference of opinions here. I like it but I'm not sure it's really me. I would probably get a fair amount of wear out of it in my line of work if I decide to keep it. Will see what the family think.

Thanks again for everyone's comments.

I like it, I looks really comfy and on trend and you can carry it off in that photo. Bet you'd find it useful. Keep it!

chaosrabbitland · 24/06/2021 13:45

i really really like it , , i prefer looser clothing that looks moveable in and the style and colours are great , it does suit you
