I don't know if it's knitted, but I'm struggling to describe the fabric!

@ajandjjmum That's a lovely memory to share with us. There are quite a few photos of the day, 8th June 1989, and as you say Diana is wearing a beautiful pink suit, in a gorgeous fabric, with a pencil skirt and bolero jacket, with the finishing touch of a stunningly huge hat. She looks fabulous!

Earl Spencer was there, and I think I can see one of her sisters, as well as Charles with a face like a wet Wednesday!

@Maireas someone could get injured if they stand too close to Letizia there!

I quite like Leti's dress but agree it's not her best look.
Kate's shoes are awful, I hope white court shoes aren't coming back in fashion! I agree @Maireas that bright yellow dress is a divine Wimbledon look.
Her outfit today would have looked much cooler with white sneakers, a crossbody bag like pp's have said and a longer skirt.

She needs to consult our collective style wisdom!

Oh I loved that film. Bits of it(!) probably not ok nowadays, but it was so brilliantly 80's!

I like Leti's dress but it does look a bit dangerous if you get too close

@Maireas I've searched high & low for Sophie's navy flower dress but I haven't found it yet only extremely similar dresses by Suzannah (one of Sophie's favourite designer's) so I'm thinking that it's a bespoke Suzannah design for Sophie.

Thank you so much, Tracy. She loves Suzannah, so that's a good supposition! I really like it. I'd like Kate's yellow Wimbledon dress as well, but suspect it's a premium value item! I can't believe that polkadot skirt is £1k....

I’m sure the polka dot skirt/white t shirt/navy jacket combo was basically what my primary school teacher’s dressing up day outfit looked like (in the 80s).

Evening, @HorriderHenry. Your primary school teacher (like those of us around at the time ) would have been considered stylish, nay, chic. I may or may not have photographic evidence of myself in such shoes....

Kate channelling her inner Essex girl with those shoes I'm sure they're £££ but you could probably get similar for under a tenner at Primark!

The skirt is very similar to a dress she has but on balance I prefer the dress. There's nothing inherently wrong with today's outfit, it's just a bit boring compared to some of her previous Wimbledon looks.

Lose the polka dots and she could be stewarding Wimbledon

Talk about ageing!! Not good.

Leti's dress is very pretty, very summery.

The older Charlotte gets, the more she looks like her mother. She is an absolute carbon copy of Caroline.

Less enamoured with Charlotte's perspex wedges, I must admit. She is very beautiful and stylish, and as you say @KillingMeDeftly just identical to Princess Caroline.
