Am 59.

Have longish hair. Recently with layer at front. Feel like it’s doing nothing for me, most days.

Any ideas for a change?

I think it looks fab, I'd just have a trim.

It might just be the angle but in that photo it looks like you have a very high hairline. I’d do long swept across fringe, some more shaping through the front and a few inches off the bottom.

Something like this is more flattering and youthful against your face imo.

Yes, I do have a high forehead! Have been trying to explain this because as I get older, it just seems to be a half of my sodding face! At 35/45 even 50+, it was Ok but now, I feel I look bald when my hairs up and just soooo OLD!

A fringe then. If it’s sweeping... won’t I be tucking it behind my ear the whole time so effectively, the same problem? What about a bob? “Lift” my face, as it were?

Actually, all through my 30’s and 40’s, I had a short “do”. Am tempted again as I could wash every day and just leave. But... I don’t have that plump face any more, thanks to weight loss for health 🙄

Found my shirt bob... a few years ago as on my way to “long”. Never expected it to be proper long but lockdown “can’t be bothered-Ness” got me where I am today 🤷🏻‍♀️

Different angle but still long forehead and to ne fair, it’s nearly always tied up.

No no no to the Bob. Embrace the long just make it more styled and add a long sweepy fringe

It's hard to be realistic about long hair- on tv it's carefully manicured and primped even when it's a dishevelled style. In real life it's an unattainable standard.

I think long hair looks great, even when it's not as immaculately groomed as TV long hair!

Ive been thinking about it as someone with long, thick, wavy hair. In the media, they'd straighten it then curl it. I'm happy with my somewhat uneven natural wave.

Yours looks great- trim it, or get a slight fringe, but keep the length.

Keep the length - bobs can be really ageing. But I agree that a fringe might be an idea.
