@ScottishMouse that is grim. Are you anywhere near the Edinburgh shop? I am returning stuff there now. Ridiculous that it’s come to that!

ScottishMouse · 11/05/2021 11:45

I am very near @doorornottodoor. I should have done that. I know that they can’t refund you in store like they used to be able to, but do they give you any receipt of what you have returned or anything?
Have just got the refund email, so hopefully that’s that. No more online shopping for me. I will consider John Lewis and in store, but I need to get over this latest frustration first.

doorornottodoor · 11/05/2021 11:49

It still took ages to come through to my account. I’m sure they could show you and give you some kind of receipt in store. Mine came through as an email receipt quite quickly but still took a while to refund.

doorornottodoor · 11/05/2021 11:50

Where’s @Toast1997 gone?! This thread got too hot to handle.

AmethystMoonShine · 11/05/2021 11:51

I’m speechless @ScottishMouse, that is truly shocking. I’m sure they’re in trouble as a company. Prices are rising with no justification in terms of quality. Plus they’re scrabbling about with new initiatives such as insta, made to order and the auctions. Customer service which was one of their main attractions has gone to the dogs.
I also feel like screaming why are you messing about with new workshops and all of the other stuff whilst your core business is failing?!Confused

ScottishMouse · 11/05/2021 12:02

I’ve just checked the proof of postage and they are not even right saying the weight recorded was wrong. It is over 1300g, surely enough for the items recorded, and almost a kilo more than the weight recorded on my last return receipt for two items.
The refund has been issued, so it doesn’t really matter, but so many excuses!!

Saurus72 · 11/05/2021 12:12

This is absolutely shocking, and also v sad to see a company we all love and have loved buying from go through such a spectacular fall. Totally agree re: focusing on core business and not podcasts, workshops etc. Their Trust Pilot is a disaster. Also interestingly I saw a post from someone which said she tried to leave a review on the website and was unable to. I’ve noticed no more reviews have been added for quite a while now so I’m wondering if people were leaving very angry reviews about service etc so they’ve stopped it completely?

So sorry about all of your woes @ScottishMouse, it truly is an absolute shocking situation.

ilovecherries · 11/05/2021 12:22

That is shit, scottishmouse. I have actively decided not to buy anything direct based on the experiences here. There is a dress I love that JL isn't selling, and normally I would have sent for it in two sizes, but no chance now. I only recently went back to buying from Toast direct as they infuriated me so much 3 years ago by prevaricating for a month about refunding a damaged item - one that had arrived damaged, and was returned the following day, so not even that I felt it hadn't lasted or washed well, but something that they had sent out with a rip. I'm annoyed as I recently bought a post pass, but I will just write that off.

AuldFox · 11/05/2021 12:37

Very poor service @ScottishMouse I can hardly believe what I’ve read!

AuldFox · 11/05/2021 12:40

On a brighter note the skirt really looks fabulous on you @doorornottodoor would you mind measuring the waist for me? Much obliged. I might brave ordering one size, but not two given the state of their returns.

neveradullmoment99 · 11/05/2021 16:39

The skirt is beautiful and really suits you @doorornottodoor
What a ridiculous situation @ScottishMouse It just goes from bad to worse. I have not ordered a thing from them although I love some of the things.

Countmeout · 11/05/2021 16:55

Yes the skirt is lovely @doorornottodoor. I also like the dress on you.
Shocking state of affairs @ScottishMouse
I think unless you know something will fit and you really want it /know it suits you it’s too dangerous to order from them at the moment. Which is an awful pity.

neveradullmoment99 · 11/05/2021 16:56

Oooh yes, the dress is also gorgeous. Only saw the skirt!

Laska2Meryls · 11/05/2021 18:09

Truly dreadful ScottishMouse....

I am afraid that I am with Countmeout here and think that its too stressful and foolish to order , unless I can be am absolutely sure of size or if something will suit me..

Sadly that means the Pihu skirt is out for me, atm.. mainly because i'd need to see how it looked ,as well as know the waist measurements .. The problem being that I am fairly sure that I will be between sizes one way or the other, being quite chunky of waist and slim of hip .. so by sizing up, the style could look far too big on the hips ..

I can live without it Sad... and atm with all their undoubted problems I am definitely not risking a potential £240 refund with them ..

I was hoping that Toast had a shop in Exeter as we are going down that way next week , but sadly not..

Maybe I will get up to London sometime soonish..

Laska there is a shop in Cheltenham if that might be on your route west?

neveradullmoment99 · 11/05/2021 18:31

So they use shopify now - the route of all their troubles. Read trust pilot!
This is a review! Sound familiar?

Sticky Fingers
The company is set up to tap in to the resources of any company making money. Their objective is to use their software platform to deduct money from customers purchasing goods from retailers/outlets immediately, even if the trading company does not stock the item. They withhold the money from both the retailer and the customers for as long as they can to create a revenue stream at the cost of everyone using them. They serve little and no purpose to business or individuals.

Laska2Meryls · 11/05/2021 18:31

No sadly, GoneGrey we are driving from Southampton area

Shock I suppose it saves Toast money then as they dont have to employ people directly themselves and pay their wages.. ....

There is no way to get in touch with customer support. No email. Only ressources. And I an actual person to help me get a receipt from one of my stores that I have closed, and some information to move my domain to WIX.com.

Bimblesalong · 11/05/2021 22:45

@ScottishMouse that truly is dreadful. What a frustrating waste of your time and money.
Their Instagram tells the same story as trustpilot.
I hope they can get on top of this before the damage spirals.

doorornottodoor · 12/05/2021 07:15

Thanks ladies for your Pihu skirt compliments. I’m very pleased with it. I’ll measure that waist this morning.

Laska2Meryls · 12/05/2021 11:02

Has anyone bought anything recently had a fast refund ? A friend sent something back a week or so and got one really quickly ..
Wondering if its the older orders , made around changeover that are causing the trouble still?

I see that Toast are reintroducing menswear !

Gonegrey31 · 12/05/2021 11:10

I will let you know Laska . I have a top coming today ( apparently!) and I’m sure it probably won’t be right for me - so if it goes back I’ll keep you informed. Had I read those dreadful reviews, I would not have risked it .

Gonegrey31 · 12/05/2021 11:13

The top is the ruffle sleeve poplin top which someone on this thread bought in a shop and said it was lovely . Problem is my wrinkly upper arms !

doorornottodoor · 12/05/2021 13:30

@AuldFox the size 8 is 14.75 inches across at the waistband
