I think it’s a great choice of dress - very professional. I love a pencil silhouette. Looks great.

The sleeves and neckline are a nice change and make for a softer silhouette

I’m not a fan of today’s look I’m sad to say (although I love the initiative and she speaks well which is obviously much more important). I know it’s not popular on here but i just thought she looked hungry in the pictures 🙈

I’m much more reassured when she’s in strong sporty mode.

She must be absolutely frozen - poor thing. It’s too cold for bare arms today.

I'm not a fan of the dress. The colour isn't great and the knee length form fitting pencil type dress looks a bit dated to me.
Fabulous hair though, talk about bouncy!
Plus, it's a great initiative and such a good thing to focus on early years.

That feather makes her look a tad unicorn-esque

I thought she looked lovely but I did wince when I saw a pic of her stepping out of the car and pretty much straight into a puddle in the pouring rain. Those shoes will be ruined!!

How does she keep her hair frizz free on a day like today?

I'm sort of indifferent to that dress. It's inoffensive enough, but quite boring. And I really wish she'd listen to us about ice blue not being her colour!

I think she looks lbdly.
She must have a will of steel to be so thin.
I can resist every except chocolate.

While I applaud her enthusiasm for her early years project, I'm not at all keen on that dress. The colour does absolutely nothing for her, and the dress looks as though it's been run up from an early 1960s Butterick pattern.
If only Leti would take Kate in hand!

As for being photographed under a stripey multicoloured umbrella....She should been given a pink umbrella, then the reflected light would have had a warm shine to light up her face, not flatten out the contours of her face as shown in the photo.

The colour comes across as a bit ‘nightwear’ to me. The fabric seems v thin.

I wondered about the umbrella too. Could be a coincidence but it is Pride month after all!

The brolly reminds me of one Boden were giving away a few years ago.

The colour is one that’s definitely in the ‘summer’ palate and I do think it flatters her, colour-wise, but it’s just really not a very current colour.

I thought the umbrella was a mod to Pride Month also.

Not a fan of Kate's dress this time. Bless her, it looks cold and wet but she always has a megawatt smile.

@Chewbecca I think this lilac dress is one of Kate’s mild toe dips into the fashion forward pool - several fashion journalists were writing about lilac being a “hot new colour” earlier this year. I ignored it, largely because I don’t exactly follow trends when homeworking, and lilac really doesn’t suit me! But this may be an instance of Kate wearing something like a big picture collar, or a padded headband, that is yet to be taken up more widely.

I also guess she picked the dress to tone with the colours on the publication she was holding?

See, I didn’t even know it was a ‘fashion forward’ colour! My 88 yo MIL will be thrilled.

Oh gosh, I thought the dress was pale blue, but on closer inspection I see it is lilac. Really not the best colour on her.

We'll all have to disagree to agree with me as I think Kate looks great & the lilac colour really suits her!
Agree with it's a fabulous initiative the early years stuff.

Finally, some glamour! Beatrice Borromeo looking amazing as usual. Not a look I'd go for myself (like I'd ever have the occasion to get this dressed up anymore!), but she can carry it off. It's Christian Dior.
