Maxima in a shade I always think of as Dairy Milk purple. She has such joie de vivre and always looks like she's having a ball on her engagements.

Eaumyword · 20/05/2021 20:32

Love that dress. Also love Dairy Milk 👍

Gooseysgirl · 20/05/2021 21:37

OMG that red tartan dress that Kate wore is a shocker 😲

KittyKatChonky · 22/05/2021 23:05

I do like a lot of Catherine’s style but that red tartan dress is hideous.
This is the first time I’ve posted on this thread so sorry for dropping in and immediately being a bitch but I really don’t like that dress.

KillingMeDeftly · 23/05/2021 09:40

Not really style-related but I felt I had to share this photo from an upcoming Harry and Meghan TV movie as it's hilarious. The only vaguely convincing lookalike is George!

KillingMeDeadly that is a terrible photo. And what on earth is 'Meghan' holding? It looks like a turkey baster. 😂

RomainingCalm · 23/05/2021 10:10

Sorry KillingMe Deftly - autocorrect fail.

chesterelly · 23/05/2021 10:13

Delurking to say the most shocking thing about the red pseudo-tartan dress is that Kate hasn't saved it for this weeks trip to Scotland. Anyone want to join me in predicting her wardrobe. I'm going for something in Saltire blue, the overly long wide trousers with a tweed jacket, probably some tartan (bonus points if it's the new NHS one) and for the St Andrews visit something red (in keeping with the famous undergrad red gowns) or maybe skinnies and an "I played a round in St Andrews" sweatshirt. Probably throw in some Scottish designer accessories and a bit of cashmere.

whataboutbob · 23/05/2021 10:25

Been lurking for a while, this is a guilty pleasure ( I’m married to a republican ). Congratulations for not engaging with the whole Harry vs William thing and going all AIBU on here. Makes a refreshing change. This is virtual Prozac and I mean that in a good way.

Maireas · 23/05/2021 11:26

Ok, @chesterelly , good call, we're game...
Tartan/ red
Tweed
Saltire blue
Brooch with a thistle
Heather themed scarf or accessories
Any other suggestions?

@whataboutbob - glad we're of service!
Virtual Prozac. Love it. Maybe a nice virtual hug with a teeeeensy bit of eyerolling. The clothes, not the people.

I agree, I love that whilst we all no doubt have opinions on RF behaviour at times, we keep it just to the fashion on here and posters are also friendly and respectful of each other. It's my happy place too!
My vote is Kate will go full on House of Bruar catalogue p14 (Spring edition.)

Ed Sheeran has joined the royals has he 😂😂
KillingMeDeftly · 23/05/2021 12:03

Yes! I was trying to figure out who "Harry" reminded me of Grin

AppleKatie · 23/05/2021 12:03

That look alike photo is hilarious. I can feel all four of them cringing from here!

KillingMeDeftly · 23/05/2021 12:04

@chesterelly I didn't know they were off to Scotland but have to say I was surprised that she got the tartan dress out in London. When are they next going to Wales? She may don a dress with a leek motif!

Maireas · 23/05/2021 12:15

"full on House of Bruar" brilliant!
Indeed, it does look like Ed Sheeran has joined the Royal Family. My brother is leading in his field and there was a dramatisation of an event he presided at. The most upsetting thing was the actor that played him. Significantly older, plainer and more weighty. We were most upset.
Imagine if you look in the mirror and think, oh I don't look too bad, but someone portrays you on tv looking like Olive from On The Buses.

Nice to see Her Maj yesterday, on a flying visit to the aircraft carrier named in her honour. She's out of mourning now, wearing tomato red!
She wore her beautiful Scarab gold brooch set with rubies and diamonds, a personal gift to her from Philip in 1966.

I thought Wills looked smart in his blue three piece suit on his Scottish trip yesterday, a real improvement for him. All at Savile Row must be cheering!

I hope Kate gives her fab pleated red tartan skirt another outing, though she also suits some of the dark green tartans too. She's sure to wear some thistle emblem jewellery!

KillingMeDeftly · 23/05/2021 13:18

@Maireas It can also work the other way around. Apparently Dominic West and Olivia Williams have been cast as the next C&C in The Crown, which I think is quite a compliment!

Maireas · 23/05/2021 13:33

GrinGrinGrin indeed!!

RomainingCalm · 23/05/2021 13:48

A few tartan options. I agree with PP that the red skirt is due a rewear.

I predict yet another McQueen Black Watch tartan coat as it's unseasonably chilly.

MotherofPearl · 23/05/2021 13:57

I am a little embarrassed to admit it, but I love a bit of House of Bruar! Blush

Welcome @whataboutbob. Yes, the poster who started these threads a few years ago insisted that this was a light hearted thread where we stick to critiquing the clothes not the women. We steer clear of all that stuff on here, and try to keep things pleasant. I think that's what gives it that Prozac feel! Grin

Eaumyword · 23/05/2021 14:08

So do I! I love a good catalogue these days Grin

chesterelly · 23/05/2021 14:42

Filming Instagram of William driving it like he stole it round Knockhill, cutting quite a dash in all the protective gear.
