Hello, wonderful royal style fans - here's the next thread as the last one will get full soon. Please continue with the great pics, fantastic knowledge and wonderful observations!

I thought the 80s revival had been and gone as a trend? Aren't we getting towards the end of the 90s revival and heading towards a 00s one with low rise jeans etc?

Hello everyone, I’ve been lurking around for a little while... I sort of got out of the habit of looking for these threads during lockdown and lost you all

Not loving that dress on KM, it’s not the best thing she’s worn. Also not a huge fan of Leti’s top, she might take off if the wind gets under those frills

The photo of the Danes with Margrethe in the background is hilarious. I thought maybe she was that far back because of social distancing but no, she's pictured with the family in other shots from the day.

Really? I assumed the same. If it isn’t social distancing it’s ridiculous!

The Crown prince & family walked across the courtyard to the palace from their home at the Chancellery house and stopped at the bottom of the stairs to allow photos to be taken by the press & people that had gathered, that’s all. The Queen was waiting at the palace door to receive them as she had with other guests such as princes Felix & Nicolai.

To the poster who mentioned it, Felix and Nikolai didn’t move to France - Nikolai is 21 and studying at Copenhagen Business School, Felix is 18 and will be studying at the Royal Danish Military Academy. Plus they’ve always lived with their mother, as far as I’m aware.

I don't like that dress at all. She has a great figure but that makes her look shapeless.

A definite no to Kate's tartan dress-she has a fabulous long waisted slim figure and long waisted dresses just look weirdly childish and out of proportion on a long thin torso. She does suit red though.
I love the M&S mom jeans!

Hello all. It’s nice to finally have some Royal fashion to talk about again isn’t it...but oh my the dropped waist really does not look good on Kate! Those proportions are all wrong. Kudos to her for trying something slightly different though.

It is good to have more royal fashion, we have been most definitely deprived!

Camilla's clothes have been really boring low key for this trip, fab handbag the only bright spot! Charlie has looked dapper from his napper to his feet!

Kate's dress doesn't do anything for her, awful style and just Too. Much. Tartan.

Lovely fabric for draught excluders though.

@MotherofPearl 🌷 I was quite rude to a poster way back quite a few threads ago (really out of order of me - I was having a truly horrible time at the time and it just came out on the internet as such things tend to do, but that’s no excuse - and I did apologise and meant it sincerely) and since then I just don’t feel like I should be here, so I only dip in once in a while. Hopefully it’s water under the bridge by now.

I watched an interesting programme on YouTube about tiaras and jewellery of the Scandinavian royal families a while back and thought of you all, I’ll see if I can find it and post a link.

I'm not sure about 80s fashion but I was in M&S the other evening (DH wanted shirts) and there was a wall of ladies cargo trousers that was very 'Bay Trading circa 1997' so if anything I'd say it's 90s fashion that might in its way back. If only I had my 90s figure

Not a fan of Kate's dress, it makes it look like everything's gone south and isn't a flattering cut on her at all. I don't like the pattern either. Not one of her better outfits.

Did anyone watch 'A Very Royal Baby: From Cradle to Crown' on Channel 4 yesterday?
It was quite interesting

I did! I enjoyed it but no particularly new info. Omid seems to be the official spokesperson for M&H!
I liked the down to earth difference between Mike Tindall's birth account and the more official circumstances the others go through!
I was also reminded of how beautiful and immaculate Kate was straight after George's birth! I don't think I took my dressing gown off for weeks!

Yes I watched it too and rather enjoyed it, though as you say Eau, no big revelations.

I will have to have a sneaky look at that later on, maybe I can distract DS with a film after school and watch on my phone?

I quite like Kate’s shoes from the V&A. Not so much with that dress, as I think the detail on the front of the shoe only adds to the slight odd eighties child’s party dress look. But with a shorter, plainer dress, I think they’d look good. I like the little needle eye detail on the heel.

Those are Jennifer Chamandi shoes - on many of her styles there’s a thin strap that threads through through the eyelet hole that then sits across the foot (rather than around the ankle as most straps do). They are really lovely - Princess Beatrice and Meghan have also been seen in them - but alas, very pricey!

Oh yes, I remember Meghan wore a pair of those to that school visit she did last year. Hers were nude and black IIRC and I preferred them to these ones. I'm not a fan of the embellishment at the front, although as @Spudlet says, they'd look better with a different outfit.
