Shoot me I nearly ordered Hotter shoes!

Disclaimer I suffer from painful feet.

I was browsing Hotter Shoes for my mother (wide foot and old Wink) and discovered that Hotter don't just sell wide shoes but they sell standard and narrow fit as well.

So looking through I found a pair of trainers that look lovely and I imagine would be so comfy and am considering ordering. The thing is they have a zip fir easy access Confused and I'm not sure I'm ready at 51 to wear easy access trainers even if they are comfortable.

So any suggestions for alternative summery comfortable trainers to wear with jeans etc? Please don't suggest Converse as they kill my feet.

Ps I like them

Zoorhik · 08/04/2021 13:31

I swear by Fitflop shoes. I don’t wear anything else now! I think they’re a bit nicer than Hotter and you can walk for 10 miles even in their sandals!
I used to wear Toms all the time but then got extremely painful planter fasciitis because they were not supportive enough on the underside of the foot. You can always get Fitflops in the sale throughout the year. I’ve got about 20 pairs.

doctorboo · 08/04/2021 14:11

Bit naffed off to find that everyone and their mum has ordered these and now they’re sold out!

hedgehogger1 · 08/04/2021 15:08

It would be nice if more places could sell
Size 9 slim fit shoes..

Theyre great trainers. Make sure you go through Topcashback as well to the Hotter website, to save even more.

CatherineCawood · 08/04/2021 15:17

I have big wide feet (yay lucky me! 🙄). I spent bloody ages trying to find some flat knee high tan suede boots and hotter came up trumps. I too was surprised but they are really nice and think that this is the third winter I've worn them.

NCforthisconvo · 08/04/2021 15:34

I’m a teaching assistant in a school nursery, I’ve come to appreciate a pair of sensible shoes that don’t don’t make my eyes melt, are good for playing on the floor in or jumping around the playground digging in the sandpit and also going to forest school and trying not to trip over the tree roots.

Mylittlesandwich · 08/04/2021 15:46

I have trainer tripe shoes from hotter. Bought them in the sales after Christmas and they're brilliant! I'm 28.

JaneJeffer · 08/04/2021 16:22

trainer tripe shoes I think I got the tripe ones as well Grin

AgentCooper · 08/04/2021 16:24

I’m 35, recently bought myself some leather upper sandals from Hotter reduced to 19 quid and I love them. Not sorry.

Mylittlesandwich · 08/04/2021 16:25

Haha, I didn't even notice!

Type not tripe

DancingInTheDaffodils · 08/04/2021 16:38

Just had a look and 200 viewing the item plus it's now sold out Grin

fairydustandpixies · 08/04/2021 16:54

I love those! (I'm 49), bah that they're sold out!!

doctorboo · 08/04/2021 17:02

@YesThisIsMe mate what a bargain!

lifeinlimbo2020 · 08/04/2021 17:23

Urgh. I did this by mistake from Next! Didn't realise till I'd worn them and looked at them thinking they look like granny boots. 🤣😳

Booksandwine80 · 08/04/2021 17:28

I’m 40 and I quite like them. Am Shock at the full price though!

Alsohuman · 08/04/2021 17:31
I actually thought that the zip was a trend, based on the amount of trainers available here with zips:

www.shoehorn.ie/trainers-c-23_27.html
I thought that too. Loads of trainers have zips at the moment.

someonelockthefridgealready · 08/04/2021 17:59

I won't shoot you for ordering those trainers, OP, they're alright.

I might shoot you for having to put up with ads full of the more heinous Hotter shoes all day. Wink

sugarlost · 08/04/2021 18:17

I have got clicked on the link as I've seen them before and was tempted too....glad I'm not aloneGrin

The two strap Birkenstock Arizona are also appealing but I couldn't pull that off.

I just want some comfy summer sandels with a strap to hold foot in place. Or gladiators that don't dig in and hide my feet....

Have looked at fit flop but don't think the sandels will work.

Feedingthebirds1 · 08/04/2021 18:20

@OpusAnglicanum

I think they look exactly like... Hotter shoes. And Hotter are probably only a ‘faux pas’ because they are generally hideous?

(I don’t like them, sorry.)

@OpusAnglicanum

Genuinely curious - what makes them Hotter shoes rather than any other shoe? I wouldn't know the difference, I'd just think they looked fine. (Boohoo - not generally known for being a haunt of older ladies - are selling some that are very similar as fashion items.)

toolazytothinkofausername · 08/04/2021 18:24

I'm 33 and wear Hotter sandals.

LemonDrizzles · 08/04/2021 20:21

Back when I got married some years ago, I had not heard of this reputation. After a bit of research, I discovered their high heels were considered comfortable, esp for my wide feet. So I bought a few pairs of their shoes for the wedding period. I was in my early 30s at the time. Still very comfy. Also, I went to see a stage play around this time and the lady had hotter shoes on. She would not have been more than 40.

If you like them, get them!

Afishcalledwonderful · 08/04/2021 20:26

They're really nice! I might get a pair 😊
