Shoot me I nearly ordered Hotter shoes!

Disclaimer I suffer from painful feet.

I was browsing Hotter Shoes for my mother (wide foot and old Wink) and discovered that Hotter don't just sell wide shoes but they sell standard and narrow fit as well.

So looking through I found a pair of trainers that look lovely and I imagine would be so comfy and am considering ordering. The thing is they have a zip fir easy access Confused and I'm not sure I'm ready at 51 to wear easy access trainers even if they are comfortable.

So any suggestions for alternative summery comfortable trainers to wear with jeans etc? Please don't suggest Converse as they kill my feet.

Phew! Relieved to know I'm not alone. I've ordered and hopefully they'll be as comfortable as they look.

I think they look exactly like... Hotter shoes. And Hotter are probably only a ‘faux pas’ because they are generally hideous?

(I don’t like them, sorry.)

Igotmylipstickon · 08/04/2021 11:08

I actually thought that the zip was a trend, based on the amount of trainers available here with zips:

I've got the Leanne ones in grey - but do really fancy getting the ice blue ones too. Very stable and comfy, wear them all the time. Laces. No zip.

Think the ice blue would look summery and fab with jeans, but they don't have it in wide feet at the moment (have too wide feet for the standard).

Leanne style from Hotter

ExperienceTheLifeYouHave · 08/04/2021 11:14

They look fine and the zip looks like a style feature rather than a functioning zip...I'm 35.

ExperienceTheLifeYouHave · 08/04/2021 11:16

PS 500 people looking now Grin

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 08/04/2021 11:16

522 people looking now. You’ve started something OP Grin

Mumdiva99 · 08/04/2021 11:22

I have black hotter ankle boots....on my 3rd pair. I walk a lot and walked through so many pairs of boots before I found these indestructible sole. They are just black boots....nothing hideous about them. I'm 46.

I like those trainers. I would order some but I have too many trainers already!

BillywigSting · 08/04/2021 11:26

I'm 30 and I'd wear those. In fact I need a new pair of trainers for the summer and am very tempted by then!

The zip looks like it's just decorative, no one would know that it's the laces that are really just for show.

They certainly don't look like the sort of shoes you'd typically picture when you think hotter

hettie · 08/04/2021 11:31

They are ok....and not a bad price. You can get comfort with more style though (but you'd pay more...)

KirstenBlest · 08/04/2021 11:35

Nothing wrong with them.

They're decent quality and british made,

Some of their styles are aimed at people who want comfortable shoes, but not all the shoes arehideous. Some are nice.

Soothes · 08/04/2021 11:36

I have a pair of Hotter boots. Chunky soled biker type boots. I don't care what anyone says, I love them.

sueelleker · 08/04/2021 11:42

Cushion Walk do a good range-I had to buy some of theirs when I had a bunion removed. Some of them go up to a 5E fitting.

Mellonsprite · 08/04/2021 11:43

668 people looking now ha!
They don’t offend me, but I live in Birkenstock’s so not known for my cutting edge style tbh.

Soothes · 08/04/2021 11:48

I've never been able to do that thing where laces are tucked in rather than tied. These look fabulous to me, surely the zip makes them edgy? Grin

ferretface · 08/04/2021 11:53

Birkenstocks are fashionable though!

I think most things from Hotter are fugly but those are ok, the zip doesn't necessarily scream 'orthopaedic'.

TheVanguardSix · 08/04/2021 12:06

They're not bad, OP! I like them.
I don't think the shoe vigilantes will be knocking on your door with sawed-off shotguns on full display for this particular pair at all (other pairs, yes. This pair, no. Grin).

sonjadog · 08/04/2021 12:09

I have them in a different colour. Really comfortable and I have had them for 3 years, worn a lot and they are still going strong.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/04/2021 12:10

I wear hotter for work, they are sooo comfy.

Oldraver · 08/04/2021 12:18

Ha 139 looking when I clicked

I think they're ok but I'm all for a comfy shoe

It is hard trying to find stuff if you need comfort, arch support or closed toes

I actually wonder why we have been accepting rubbish sandals for years ie those that are just flat with no support at all

dontgobaconmyheart · 08/04/2021 12:41

Hotter analytics must be wondering what's going on Grin

I'm 33 and care how I dress but now operate a bizarre double life where if I'm not actually seeing anyone I care about (shopping, appointments, any walk, the garden, at home etc) I do nothing, and delight in my hideous hotter esque comfort footwear monstrous fleece clothing and unsettled hair. It all started when I bought some skechers slip ons 'for the garden' which appear to have been a bit of a gateway drug for me.

If I'm meeting people I know it's back to the styled hair, uncomfortable (comparatively) jeans, brogues blazer and jewellery or whatever and I do enjoy dressing up.

It helps that I've not long moved a couple of hours away from my hometown and most friends, I'll literally never see anyone I know here (famous last words I'm sure). Friends would be appalled I expect.

Get them OP! Tell us if the zip is convenient or not and how comfy they are Wink

plumpuddisnice · 08/04/2021 13:03

I actually like them.

But they're sold out now.

Nc967125 · 08/04/2021 13:04

Nike sb's look similar and are very comfy.
