[[https://www.hush-uk.com/shoes/sandals Hush]] so many nice ones here, I have the tan studded ones.

PineappleCakes · 22/03/2021 11:17

Not exactly pretty, but I have a pair of Tevas, midform Universal. Oh so comfortable and supportive. I'm already looking forward to wearing them. I love my Birkenstocks for support, but I find these even better.

What about these from Spanish brand Musse and Cloud @MaryLennoxsScowl? Not sure how easy it is to get hold of them post Brexit though. They're not as nice as the R&B ones but I've had their sandals before and they're well cushioned and comfortable.

@Foresttheout

Following for all these suggestions, I usually like dainty tan leather sandals as I have neat and thin feet but quite chunky legs so I find chunky sandals just make my legs look bigger and my feet look like i'm wearing someone else's shoes. However I have absolutely buggered my shin and walking in completely flat sandals is impossible. I was thinking birkenstocks for the arch support but would appreciate any other suggestions of sandals with a bit of support and cushioning
Fitflops (they do flip flops, sandals, shoes & boots). Are designed with the correct ergonomic support for the foot and excellent cushioning. I have a couple of pairs of Birkenstocks and they are comfortable, but I find Fitflops even more comfortable and they have a much broader range of styles. n.b. I could never cope with the feeling of a toe post until I discovered Fitflops flip flops. I now live in them throughout the Summer. Despite being the simplest of footwear, Fitflops manage to make them highly supportive to the arch of the foot and beautifully cushioned Smile

I had some red ones like this when I was a toddler! It's a shock to see them for sale for adults.

dividedwefall · 22/03/2021 16:17

The Gina mules are gorgeous

Anoisagusaris · 22/03/2021 16:23

@AnnieSnap

Snap! I used to feel queasy about toe posts before I tried Fitflops. I live in them all summer (when not working) and wear them as slippers all year around. I can walk miles in them and they are so handy for the beach - water/sand doesn’t destroy them.

I have more covered in sandals for work or when I need to be slightly more dressed up but still casual.

Anoisagusaris · 22/03/2021 16:27

‘Sandals’ covers such a wide range of options. The Gina mules are very pretty but wouldn’t be much use on a long walk, while the Tevas wouldn’t look great for dinner out etc. I’d love if there was something that looks stylish but yet suitable for mucking about on the beach or on a walk.

theotherfossilsister · 22/03/2021 16:35

Ah, I love this thread so much.

There are some lovely pink ones on Boden but not sure how to link on my phone.
@VallarMorghulis the DM Blaires come with a white upper... but no ankle strap.
Actually there is a version with a strap and a purple upper!

Not the colour I had in mind (I'd prefer a tan sort of colour) but it's something!

I really like the Teva sandals, especially those

Amen to this

I've just bought these from FitFlop, they arrived this morning so I've been wearing them all day. So comfy! Just need to get my feet in a reasonable state so I can venture out in them!

@anniesnap thankyou I'll take a look, I've always avoided birkenstock and fitflop due to fear of looking frumpy but currently I'll deal with frumpy to prevent pain if needed. Also chunky is in style these days right so perhaps I'll actually look cool

Fitflop do lots that are not chunky. Take a look at their amazingly comfortable and stylish flip flops!

thirstyformore · 22/03/2021 20:02

I've just a pair of DM sandals. I'm 40....think I'm hankering after a misspent youth wearing DMs and German army boots. I'm sure my husband will hate them!

VallarMorghulis · 22/03/2021 20:14

I had a look at the fitflop website and I agree, there is a lot to like! I particularly like these

AnnieSnap · 22/03/2021 20:27

There are currently lots of Fitflops on BrandAlley. I just got a couple more pairs of flipflops. As I said, I live in them in the Summer and when on holiday (ahh those were the days)!

Now I love DMs and I had some fab military boots bought from Famous Army Stores (do they still exist anywhere?). But I can't get away with those sandals. They are massive.

I have ordered these, have been after some simple tan slides for a while. Not sure these are quite right but will have a look.

I live in havainas, saltwaters and palmairas normally.

RosesAndHellebores · 22/03/2021 21:04

Those are fabulous @LeaveItToWeaver. I have just ordered Hotter Voyager but I think those are better.

Liking these from fitflop www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/lainey-leather-back-strap-sandals-p-BD9#592
Slightly concerned reading about fitflops being unstable and unsuitable for pregnancy because of ligament strain, I'm not pregnant but part of the problem with my shin is ligament damage in my ankle and foot causing me to over pronoate and have a collapsed arch.
