Can anyone recommend some good walking sandals that are also attractive?

I’ve recently bought a pair of crocs sandals - embarrassing but SO comfortable!

DeusEx · 23/03/2021 05:21

Also bought these a month or so ago:

Amazing. So comfortable. Great for city and beach. Also they hand wash really well.

I really struggle with sandals and need arch support. I found Strive sandals and they are fab. They have a footbed similar to Birkenstock's but leather instead of suede. Super comfy and a range of styles

@Foresttheout

Liking these from fitflop www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/lainey-leather-back-strap-sandals-p-BD9#592 Slightly concerned reading about fitflops being unstable and unsuitable for pregnancy because of ligament strain, I'm not pregnant but part of the problem with my shin is ligament damage in my ankle and foot causing me to over pronoate and have a collapsed arch.
Fitflop trainers were the only thing I could wear after an ankle strain that the doc at the hospital told me was a worse strain than a break. He recommended fitflops and Skechers and they really helped. It took a good while to heal the damage though!

I now have about £300 worth of sandals on my wishlist thanks to this thread! Love the coral wedgy Palmairas.

Foresttheout · 23/03/2021 07:12

@Geamhradh thats good to know thankyou! I have been told if I must wear sandals no flip flops so I need something with an ankle strap or a strap high up across the foot. Might ask the physio what he thinks. I am currently running wearing trainers everywhere as even flat trainers like converse are hurting me.
Thinking I will go for the linked fitflops and maybe also some two strap birkenstocks as i'm not in the UK and we get a good 9 months of sandal weather a year here so I don't feel so bad spending money on them.

Chocolateteabag · 23/03/2021 07:21

Sorel have several different sandals which might fit some of your bills?

I've just had a pair of black Kinetic's delivered - trainer sole, black leather straps so hopefully slightly more style for my long school runs or when it's hot but you need to walk with purpose not shuffle along trying not to make a blister worse

I'm now eyeing the "out and about" flatter sandals too

Peridot1 · 23/03/2021 08:01

I second recommendations for Fitflops. I wear their slippers, flip flops and this year some wellies. I get plantar fasciitis and need arch support and find Fitflops are excellent.

I wear Birkenstock’s too.

@Foresttheout - I think if I were you I would look for some more solid straps with Fitflops. I have a similar pair to the one you linked to and find my feet slip around a lot. I will wear them on holiday just going to dinner but wouldnt wear them for much more.

Also have a look on Amazon for Fitflops. I got some tan crossover strap slides this week - I think they are probably last years style but that didn’t bother me. They were around £35.

RosesAndHellebores · 25/03/2021 08:16

Hotter Voyage arrived yesterday. Going back.
Now trying Joseph Siebel with two buckles - sorry can't link on phone.

ScarlettDarling · 25/03/2021 12:21

I ordered these from Moshulu.

They were super comfy and I loved the colour but I just didn’t like the white sole so I sent them back. They do lots of colours though and were much comfier than birkies.

Vargas · 25/03/2021 12:36

I tried the Fitflop black double strap mentioned upthread. I have very narrow feet and although they fit ok on smallest setting they instantly started rubbing my little toes as I walked across my bedroom, I think it's just the shape of my feet are not right for them but others may find them super comfortable. Sadly for me they are going back. But I will keep the normal flip flops, they seem super comfy and my little toes are happy.

Trying sandals on has made me realise how much I need a pedicure!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 25/03/2021 14:09

I ordered these as an alternative to the DMs. They’re slightly smaller so I don’t feel quite as mutton dressed as lamb. They’re so very comfy and are quite wide.

I also really like these but I bought some saltwater sandals in exactly the same shade as the clove last year and can’t justify them even to myself Sad

Alsohuman · 25/03/2021 17:23

Love the Shuh ones @WillYouDoTheFandango. Those are definitely on my list.

Foresttheout · 25/03/2021 17:56

@Vargas that's good to know as I have very narrow feet. Not in the UK so would need to order online but perhaps I'll try harder to find her pair here to try on (and then order online for half the price)

I know fishermen can earn good money, but that price is ridiculous.

I think these are quite nice, and campers are usually comfortable.

WeeM · 25/03/2021 21:27

For those that like a bit of cushioning these from Oliver Bonas are really comfy. I’ve had them in navy for a few years and they go with everything.

I also live in havaianas for a lot of the summer. I’ve just got myself a new pair of flatform ones that I can’t wait to wear!

RosesAndHellebores · 26/03/2021 19:30

The Joseph Siebel's are great. Smile

MargosKaftan · 26/03/2021 21:00

I'm very temped by the Seasalt ones. What is their sizing like? The tan ones look like they'd go with a lot.
