And I'm fairly frumpy but these are more frumpy than I would go.

They kind of look like the ones you can order from the last page in the magazine at the dentist.

I don’t think I have ever seen a pair of Gabor shoes that wasn’t frumpy.

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz they are nice. I find shopping for shoes online almost impossible. I have arthritis in my left ankle so it doesn't bend properly and that sole looks like it might be too rigid... if only I could try them on. Also need a slightly wider fit than standard.

If anyone could find me rose gold or plain white trainers (or both) that fit the bill I'd be grateful

Yeah, Gabor trainers will never be trendy. It’s a comfort brand like Hotter or Ecco.

For grey suede low top non sports trainers that are on trend, try these which the JD Sports website assured me are selling fast.

I think new balance are too narrow but can't know for sure without trying.
My most comfortable trainers are my Nike air max but I'm looking for something less sporty looking.

Try Tamaris, I need a wider fit and got lucky with some of their boots

I quite liked the grey ones - didn't think they were trendy but they had the same sort of air as my son's - but the rose gold ones are hideous. I think it's the utter contrast with the sole.

And I speak as someone who owing to width spends most of the time wearing Hotter laceups

Mind you, I can't tell the difference between those and the Superga ones linked by BRW...

The grey are ok but I'm not looking for grey. Really it's white I definitely need.

They aren't as bad in other colours.
