Big hugs @Experiment627 you’ll get there. Feel free to pm me too. The whole experience has inspired me to study nursing as I am now so passionate about the difference the correct health advice can make for each individual woman at this time of life that snowballs right through for the rest of it. I’m a good sounding board despite living in another country. We’re all women, and we’ve been disempowered and silenced on the subject for too long.

Experiment627 · 07/07/2021 10:32

Thanks @justilou1- you are amazeballs!

I have some empties:

  • Superdrug travel size rosehip & cactus fruit: meh... think I am going to treat myself to some Briogeo and if that makes no difference to my locks I might try the Sarah Tran 14 day challenge
  • Soft & Gentle ylang ylang & almond oil deodorant: this was fine... was a little worried it may be too highly fragranced but actually could not smell anything...

Another empty - Narciso for Her travel size. I have two more to go. I think they’re 15mls.

clary · 10/07/2021 09:34

Two more empties - System Professional Luxe oil for hair - this was from my AC in 2019 so needed to be gone, I liked it as I have v long thick hair, tho the last bits were a bit yucky (but it's 18mo old)

Also Lumene vitamin c brightening lotion, liked this, liking this range, but have some REN ones to finish first

After no empties last week I've got 4 this week. Slowly working my way through my hoard.
Dr Barbara Sturm rich face cream - I really liked this, it's a no nonsense rich cream that leaves your skin feeling plump and hydrated. Would consider a RP, but got a ton of night cream to get through.
Kate Somerville exfoliate cleanser - it was fine, not as good as other products in the range and I wouldn't buy it, but would happily use if I got it again.
Omorrovicza miracle oil - this was really nice, gorgeous scent and did feel luxurious.
Dove body wash - got 2 sets of these at Christmas and have only one bottle left. I've got loads of smaller higher end body washes that I've been keeping for going away over the summer, but I'll start using at home once my last bottle of Dove is gone. Nothing wrong with Dove but keen to get into my other stash.

I've been doing well with not buying anything for a couple of months now and plan to hold out until the autumn GWPs launch (I could probably hold out on most things until next autumn!). Gradually working through my skincare and make-up hoard. I keep getting free shampoos and conditioners to review from Ocado - so my haircare stash keeps getting bigger!

Be proud of me ladies… stopped myself from making a very expensive makeup purchase. (Because it was my birthday and was down in the dumps.) Am close to returning for the Nars Laguna Crème Bronzer while it’s available. I’ve been hearing good things and I love crème bronzers. I have Bondi Bae from Nudie Stix, but it’s muddy on me, and the original Chanel one and it’s virtually invisible. (In a total waste of money kind of way.)

clary · 11/07/2021 08:35

Another empty - Goldfaden MD bright eyes - this was in a GWP and actually I really like it. I am not normally convinced about eye creams but I have used this one regularly and I think the dark circles are reduced. May need to RP.

Experiment627 · 11/07/2021 19:36

Am so proud of you @Justilou1

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. Was very spoiled, @Experiment627. I am still trying to choose between the Mars and the Fenty bronzer. I think the Fenty’s a better colour. Might have bought a tester of Le Labo’s By the Fireplace though. It’s winter here and it’s divine, but ridiculously overpriced for what it is.

Ponks · 11/07/2021 21:12

woo hoo ! And that Ameliorate stuff is seriously good, did wonders for my arms. They also do a face moisturiser which I'd like to try.

Empties from the last week:

  • Becca first light primer, lovely stuff, gives a bit of a sheen on the skin but no sparkles. Have another ready to go.
  • IT Cosmetics retinol moisturiser sample from GWP, seemed ok but only a tiny sample so can't say much.
  • Fresh Rose moisturiser, little pot from gwp, nice but not special

@clary that Goldfaden eye cream is lovely isn't it, I bought a couple more of the sample sizes from eBay after using the one from Cult GWP, there's also a set including the eye cream on Feel Unique at the mo which is much reduced and good value .. it's very tempting.

Caggie09 · 11/07/2021 22:06

Just checking in on thread as i dont want to fall off!! Should have a few empties soon.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 11/07/2021 23:31

I finished the Ren ready strady glow tonic. Not sure if its done anything tbh.

Experiment627 · 12/07/2021 04:02

Either sound like a good choice @Justilou1

@ponks I have used the Ameliorate... maybe not the one mentioned- I got in an advent 1 but don't recall being blown away. I think I was not a fan of the smell. But anyhow am still so proud you got a mention!!!

I used over £60 of Boots points earlier - gonna try loads more of "Your good skin" range - have gel cleanser and day cream so far & am really impressed.

Checking in as I’ve fallen off.

Three empties.

Two foot mask/sock things. One from SuperDrug (a charcoal one which smelled lovely) the other a korean one which came free with feelunique.

And bumble and bumble heat protection spray. Because I only wash my hair a couple of times a week and rarely at the moment use a hairdryer it has taken ages for this to be used up.

Justilou1 · 12/07/2021 07:18

@Experiment627 - I decided on the Fenty because it’s more portable and has a mirror if I ever need one. It’s also slightly less “tuggy”. (Not that the Nars actually is, but it’s a more siliconey formula, and the Fenty just slightly more emollient. At 49, it matters. I bought everyone’s fave, Butta Biskit.) Also a gift card today purchased some Ultra Violette Lip Balm in Shimmer (pale, cream with a slight cool shimmer I think will look fab with every pencil I own) which has SPF 50 - vital here in Aus and a three - pack of Lanolips in Perfect Nude, Rhubarb and Rose - which are SPF 30. My mother had two melanomas cut out of her lip, so I’m a bit paranoid. (She also sunbathed and chain-smoked, and I have never done either of those things, but I do believe in mitigating risk. I also wear fugly hats.)

Justilou1 · 12/07/2021 07:19

@Ponks - will you remember us now you’re famous?

Experiment627 · 12/07/2021 08:56

@Justilou1 blimey so much to consider for a bronzer!!! I rarely use any as it always goes wrong but perhaps I am using the wrong stuff!
Lip balm with SPF is a good plan.

Finally some empties!

1000 ml Schwartzkopf professional anti yellow shampoo. It was good but stained my fingernails so I'm back to the mainstream anti yellow one. They both deal with brassiness really well.

Lixirskin vitamin c treatment. Love love love this. Will RP

MAC concealer

Elizabeth Arden double wear mascara

Imperial leather shower gels. They do the job, nothing special.

Justilou1 · 12/07/2021 14:03

Mini (sample-size) Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask x2. I don’t often use masks, but when I do, I want pretty instant results. This one’s fabulous. It’s a moussey, clay mask with salicylic acid to soften and loosen the pore contents. Simple, but effective. The X2 version has double-strength SA. While this version is in a pot, I prefer the lighter mousse version. (Easier to spread, more hygienic.) There is a stick version, but I just can’t go there. I have a new big pot, a small, travel pot and a can of the mousse in my stash.

emoji fail!

ememem84 · 13/07/2021 09:09

Another foot mask thing gone. Yay

Caggie09 · 13/07/2021 21:26

Finally some empties!

•Girlz Only Dry Shampoo. I liked this, but i found as i was nearing the end of the can, it became less effective?

•Mitchum. HG🧡

• Skin+Me, first month on a low tret. Skin has reacted well. I actually went foundation free to work the other day. Bloody miracle worker. Will build up to a decent amount of tret.

• DE Sweet Biome spray. Not an empty. It flares my eczema big time. Its going to a friend.

• Fresh Glow powder. I cant be bothered with products which i have to mix myself. I never get the ration of water to powder right. It didnt make me glow either. Could be user error thoughBlush

• Elemis Pro Coll Ultra Rich. I always forget how much i actually like Elemis skincare, i get it and think Meh. But i love it when i use it. I wouldnt say its that much richer than the usual one. Its not thick and greasy, smells like a spa and really soothes my skin. If i seen in a QVC set, id snap it up.

• Noble Isls Rhubarb shower gel. The smell was lovely. Didnt feel or smell like an average cheapo.
