SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

@VivaVegas my current obsession is with the LouLou.

There's a smaller version which is still past your £1,500 limit.

I also like the Kate though the YSL is a bit front and centre.

Stokey · 18/09/2021 10:35

No idea about nice bags, but the practical side of me would want something I could easily fit a book in and that was waterproof just so I'd use it a lot.

My hair is a bit crazy at the moment, I've gone for a teal underdye... Quite liking it! I'm not ready to stop dying the grey yet although it's great to see people like Sali Hughes doing it.

DryWhiteagainW · 18/09/2021 20:37

I’ve been trying on jeans. Total torture. Just not sure what to go for. My jeans feel dated. I prefer a slim/straight leg so not going to miss skinnies . I like the higher waist too. But I’m not sure which way to go......fashion or flattering?

Stokey · 19/09/2021 08:13

Jeans are tricky @DryWhiteagainW. I've got some cropped flares and high-waisted straight longern ones. I think I want longer flares but then keep remembering what a nightmare they were in the rain in the 90s!

Has anyone bought any short-sleeved knits? That seems to be a thing at the moment. I really like this one from Erdem but need a more wallet friendly option. This is ok from Stories but would prefer a more colourful option.

MarshaBradyo · 19/09/2021 08:23

I bought two dark straight jeans from NaP

NaP

J Brand

A bit similar but I liked both in the end

Damn not sure links are working here’s pics

Stokey I like those tops

Viva lovely idea

I’ve started using my navy Celine trio again, which I really like

Elle really nice blouse

MarshaBradyo · 19/09/2021 08:29

Lib your hair is glossy and looks v healthy. I just go with same colour again. It looks really nice

QueenCremant · 19/09/2021 10:19

@DryWhiteagainW what styles have you been trying?
I’m thinking of trying bootcut/flare but not sure on what shoes/boots to wear. Also, I rarely wear jeans anymore…
@stokey I’ve never understood the point of short sleeved knits. They’re too hot if it’s warm enough for short sleeves but you can’t put a cardigan over them.

QueenCremant · 19/09/2021 10:24

@VivaVegas I’ve always loved the lily or the darley. I gave the small darley in blue.

QueenCremant · 19/09/2021 12:03

This weeks bonkers item

CarolineBingley · 19/09/2021 14:37

Those are great bag suggestions @QueenCremant!

@Stokey funnily enough I saw a paparazzi picture of Pippa Middleton yesterday wearing a white short sleeve knit with jeans and I thought it was a great look. I actually still have short sleeve knits in my wardrobe from when they were last in fashion about 10 years agoGrin

Themarvellousmrsm · 19/09/2021 14:59

I love a short sleeved knit and whispers never really stopped wearing them. Currently have 3 from H&M and 1 by James Perse. I saw some in Zara the other day but the queue for the changing rooms and cash desk were hideous so left without purchasing.

That raspberry BV bag is a thing of lovliness! In fact, loving all the bag links. Here's my favourite atm Small iris

The Rains jacket arrived and is a good fit, will struggle to get a thick knit under I think but is more for spring/autumn anyway

Trousers, what a pita they are atm! Love my various wide crops etc and the gf jeans but what to wear when the weather is too cold for a bare ankle? The Whistles barrel leg jeans look good with chunky boots but stuck on the non jean purchase

Themarvellousmrsm · 19/09/2021 15:06

This is one of my new purchases from a local shop plus
this fabulous dress - for a particular outdoor event but the weather was terrible so ended up in trousers and trainers - my vision of wafting about in a dress and silver (Hush) sandals was as distant as the sunshine!

CarolineBingley · 19/09/2021 17:58

Oooh I like that jumper @Themarvellousmrsm it reminds me of something @shopafrolic would wear.

I bought this Ted Baker crochet cotton jumper recently and wore it with my M&S skinny jeans. @DryWhiteagainW I am still wearing skinnies although I have bought a couple of straight legged ones to be more 2021Grin

QueenCremant · 19/09/2021 19:17

I’m struggling to find decent links…
I mean, who would this look good on?

VivaVegas · 20/09/2021 22:48

No bag as yet, still can't decide, needs to be right.

Impromptu trip to Whistles today, lured in by the 20% off.

Bought a sweatshirt in my face colour, which I know @shopafrolic has and a skirt which isn't really me, but I like it. Just not sure what top to wear with it. Like the idea of with trainers and a denim jacket with it for now, leather jacket later but what to wear under the jacket. Maybe the new sweatshirt!

blue sweatshirt
pleated skirt

shopafrolic · 21/09/2021 13:56

It's a fab sweatshirt @VivaVegas - washes well and I wear it loads - enjoy Smile

I love cobalt, it was a toss up between the one I bought and this green sweatshirt as that's a lovely colour too.

shopafrolic · 23/09/2021 10:48

Bargain of a silk shirt if you're tiny

It's all gone very quiet!

Has anyone got any mascara recommendations? I wear contacts so need one that's pretty smudge proof as I can get watery eyes on occasion.

I have this Kevyn Aucoin one but I don't like it, it's smudge proof but gives no volume whatsoever. mascara

Other than that I need to sort my wardrobes out to see what I need for winter, have got 2 Christmas dos booked in which is so nice after the having to eat outside last December, fingers crossed they go ahead!

shopafrolic · 08/10/2021 10:55

@VivaVegas Lancôme Hypnose - the original one. I continually try others but always go back to it. I wear contacts too. It is bomb proof.
Not sure whether we should bother with another thread - it’s v quiet nowadays….

It would be sad for MNV to cease to be. I do think it has its special place, & without it S&B seems a bit less stylish...

I have managed to buy 3 cardigans in the last week, a green and black one from &OS which I'm planning on wearing over dresses and with the wide leg jeans I'm yearning for but can't actually find. Also bought a lovely cobalt blue long one from Cos which I can't find on their website, and tried on a very weird thing that I thought was a knitted vest thing, but ended up being open say both sides like a bib. No idea what the point is.

I am looking for a knitted tank top/vest so do let me know if anyone sees a nice one, maybe fair isle?

VivaVegas · 15/10/2021 16:13

I agree @Stokey although not sure I consider myself v stylish!

Cobalt blue cardigan sounds lovely, one of my favourite colours.

I bought this lovely long gilet from Mint Velvet, it's so nice with 2 layers you can do up separately and fleece lined pockets. Have work it every day since I bought it which is a good sign!

Have a few more Mint Velvet items in a delivery today, can't resist when they have a discount, will try later.

Childfree weekend, much as I find it one of the hardest things about divorce, it's nice to keep busy and see friends again. Out to dinner tonight, lunch tomorrow and then doing a race on Sunday.

Have lovely weekends all!

maradesbois · 16/10/2021 12:23

Hi Voguettes,

Wasn’t sure if the thread was still going so am happy to see it hanging on in there, just! I’d love to help keep it going, reading it after a break feels like coming home but I find it much harder to make the time (not find the time) to post these days.

@libertyonhertravels lovely to see your beautiful hair. Think I’m probably a couple of years behind you in the grey stakes and a similar hair colour & texture so will watch what you do with interest. I tweeze mine out around the hairline and pay ds 1p/hair for others!

Love autumn colours but quite happy with my current wardrobe and also lost a few kgs so am fitting into things I haven’t been able to do up for a couple of years. Need new jeans and want some Grensons but that’s about it. Are your Grensons tts @shopafrolic? Won’t get nanette much as I love them as already have lace up ankle boots I like, want the Doris high Chelsea boots to wear with dressed and cropped straight leg & flare jeans.
