SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

I love the MD shirt too - didn’t buy it and am regretting it.
@Stokey first Westfield visit was a Sunday - it was okay until around 3pm and then was mental busy. I think the lack of maps, and the fact the kiosks that are meant to give directions NEVER work meant that people just hang round the central section looking bewildered and walking in circles.
Saturday was better. But was again getting a bit manic when we left at 3.
Distinct lack of masks although most wore them in the actual shops.

@AppleFairy that dress looks lovely, you got a bargain too!

My success on my buys wasn't too bad.
Cycling Shorts - returned, fitted on waist, fitted on bum, too tight on thighs, might try again with a different brand.
Mini Dress - returned, didn't fit my torso nicely, shame as it was v pretty
Midi Dress - love, kept it
Midi Skirt - returned, ordered two sizes and even the smaller was too loose on the waist, may get a smaller one when restocked as it was really nice
Crossback Body - love, kept it
Puff Sleeve Top - love, kept it

AppleFairy · 06/08/2021 05:34

@SummaLuvin thanks for the update. It’s so important to be open to try new things to avoid a style rut!

My IM hoodie arrived and I love it. The red colour is beautiful. It’s rather large but may shrink when I wash it.

DryWhiteagainW · 06/08/2021 08:29

Hello all....I’ve just caught up with all of the lovely links. This is what I like about the thread, it’s like reading a fashion magazine but better because you can imagine everyone in their purchases.
Apologies if I miss anyone out:
Shop you are so good. I can see you in all of the purchases. And, yes, the “wobbly scallop” is a weird and annoying development (is it an age thing?) I think I have a clear idea of what suits me and over the years have tried to buy less quality items rather than bulk but tat, but it requires a whole lot of self control that I don’t have most of the time Sad

Marsha the Rico skirt is very you too. I like their stuff, v famine etc. Couldn’t see the dress

limesoda is it you who broke their ankle? So sorry, my son broke his a few years back, nasty.

Apple are you me? Grin . I do miss dressing up too. Am going racing soon which will require a dress/hat combo, as you can imagine I’ll go totally ott Grin

Shop I really love the dark skinnies you bought. I never felt good in skinnies (small, pear with short legs) especially the ankle clenching types, so stuck to straight ....think I’ll just hang in there.

Hello from sunny climes!

Hope everyone has been keeping well. We are halfway through our summer holidays. Feeling very privileged to have got away, even if understanding the tests needed was a nightmare 2 weeks ago!

I did a massive holiday splurge pre holiday as I decided I didn't want to struggle to breathe in anything I own.

Today's outfit is this red top paired with these denim shorts. Right now am wearing these Freya bikinis.

The theme for evening dressing has been metallic gold. Think these shoes, with matching clutch bag. Or these charming ballet flats. I even got metallic gold slip on trainers which I wore with a jumpsuit to dinner a few days ago

@libertyonhertravels your bracelet is of course with me. Much treasured and makes me think of you on holidays x

libertyonhertravels · 31/08/2021 10:35

Awwwh @CarolineBingley I love that you still have it Smile I was sorting out jewellery the other day and found the one I got myself at the same time and was thinking roll on summer so I can wear it. I can't see your links Confused

@SummaLuvin and @FairyApple thanks for the updates. The IM sweater is gorgeous.

I ordered lots of jeans from Zara recently so tried out some different styles. these ones in chocolate brown are great. Feels weird wearing such wide legs but they are very flattering IMO, make me look taller!

I was really impressed with the quality of the jeans I tried. Really thick denim, good shapes. Sizing was a bit 🙈. I had to size up but hey ho! Also a lot of them are 100% cotton but I need a wee bit of stretch.

Hope everyone is well. I got lots of pictures of my nieces and nephews starting new school year today.

libertyonhertravels · 31/08/2021 10:59

Here are some of the spring pieces I am coveting. Not much chance as we are broke and despite being broke have decided to buy an expensive dog Grin

Stunning floral dress

Another floral dress in perfect colours for me

love the shape and swishiness of this even though it's black

this denim dress keeps catching my eye

libertyonhertravels · 31/08/2021 11:03

Final link

this Toast dress looks great

DryWhiteagainW · 31/08/2021 20:47

I love all of those dresses liberty xxx

DryWhiteagainW · 31/08/2021 20:48

And caroline I’m a big gold fan.....bet you look awesome

Stokey · 31/08/2021 21:32

Was just thinking about you all today as was reading an article in Vogue about 2 models getting married with Mossy as their ring bearer. She was looking wasted but beautiful as ever.

Holiday sounds fab Caroline, although I can't see your links either. We managed to escape too. Pretty low key wardrobe wise as we were staying in villas and just going out to beach bars for meals but so lovely to be warm. I had a new Freya bikini too.

Must be nice to be going into spring Lib, feels very autumnal here already. The summer has been a bit disappointing on the whole. Great links for you, I can really picture you in them all, even the black despite the colour.

No fashion news my end. Have had a crazy week since we got back as Dd1 got offered a waiting list place to a grammar school that we'd assumed we were too far down for, so have had a couple of days of decision making followed by a mad rush to sort everything out before term starts. Hope we've made the right decision, she'll have a long commute but think it's worth it. Once that's all sorted, I hope to start thinking about clothes again!

QueenCremant · 01/09/2021 08:51

Hey all…
lib those dresses are gorgeous.
I don’t think caroline linked anything Grin.

It’s feeling very autumnal. I don’t feel that I’ve worn my summer clothes enough but am considering packing them away for next year.

I’m not really sure what I need/want for autumn. Browsed round the shops yesterday but nothing inspired me. Anyone got an a/W wish list?

CarolineBingley · 01/09/2021 09:24

Hello!! Back from hols. Glorious time with lovely weather and food. Just nice to spend time together as a family.

Love a couple of those floral dresses Lib (3rd anc 4th links?). Not the denim one. I couldn’t see that turning out well with anyone with boobsGrin

I am not sure what I was trying to link! Here’s a few from my £700 Hush orderBlush:

lovely cami top

Hush bikini in both the lagoon print and leopard blue and black print looked really good on.

khaki animal print play suit is lovely.

tie back t shirt - scroll and look at the back.

this grey leopard mini skirt which I bought more as an Aukumn buy.

I wore this top out to dinner one night with black cotton trousers. It looked really good.

Stokey · 01/09/2021 17:18

@CarolineBingley those bikinis are presumably good for the large of chest then? What size did you go for? I really like them.

shopafrolic · 01/09/2021 17:23

Just flying by with a

CarolineBingley · 01/09/2021 20:06

Hi @Stokey yeah I am 30F and got size 12 in those bikinis so they properly covered the boobs.

Stokey · 01/09/2021 22:02

Great thanks @CarolineBingley xx

Kittyhello · 02/09/2021 17:01

Glad you had great holidays @CarolineBingley and @Stokey. Loved the links Caroline very summery and fresh.

Hey @libertyonhertravels how are you doing down under? Hope you're not in a lockdown area and are still Covid free. I too liked your lovely dresses links.

@QueenCremant I'm with you on the lack of summer front. That's the second year my Castañer's have remained unworn. I'm desperate for some winter sun and am trying to convince dh that the PCR faff will be worth it.

Anyway clothes are the last thing from my mind at the moment as we are almost a household of Covid lurgy people.

DC1 came down with it first, we think they picked it up from our UK city break. The rest of us we were all clear - did daily LTFs. Then one week later we all came down with it apart from 1. So we're mostly all stuck at home in self isolation. The dc are asymptomatic but dh and I are feeling under the weather - the usual Covid symptoms - we'll be okay in a few days.

On the upside I've lost a few pounds Grin.

CarolineBingley · 02/09/2021 23:10

Ugh poor you @Kittyhello. Big big hugs to you all.

So I have had a super glamorous day at Salon Privé. First time I have had a day like this in 18 months. The dress code was summer finest (like posh wedding or garden party) so I wore Alexander McQueen pale pink dress which has black print floral design on it. Shoes were my low heeled Valentino Rockstuds and handbag was a tiny Prada bag (literally only holds your phone, lipstick, mirror and brush). The fashion there was amazing.

I haven't taken my jewellery off yet so I have been wearing them with my PJs this eveningGrin. Lucie Campbell floral diamond dangly earrings, together with a diamond cluster ring and this bangle which I wasn't sure about when dh got it for me, but now have decided I love.

They kept my glass topped up for 5 hours while we looked at very expensive cars (the Ferrari gto 250 that I was looking at apparently worth $70mShock) so let's just say I had a nice evening snooze on the drive back!

CarolineBingley · 02/09/2021 23:16

Oh I bought new underwear. This Fantasie bra with the matching knickers. Dh's face as ds woke up and insisted that I sit by his bed till he's 100% asleep was pricelessGrin

QueenCremant · 03/09/2021 07:56

@carolinebingley I love fantasie underwear. Their bras fit me well. I’ve got the blue version of that one you linked.

@Stokey sorry to hear you are all unwell. Covid is just never ending.

The weather looks good for the next few days so hoping to eeek out a last few wears of summer dresses.

SouthernFashionista · 05/09/2021 13:31

Wow @CarolineBingley to be so casual about a bracelet worth £19k is a little shocking. So relatable Hmm

CarolineBingley · 05/09/2021 16:55

@SouthernFashionista

Wow *@CarolineBingley* to be so casual about a bracelet worth £19k is a little shocking. So relatable Hmm
Lol, the poster who called everyone back to the thread when it stopped being active moans about it not being relatable.

Relatability is all relative. There are plenty of people financially struggling right now who would find the entire S&B board distasteful. So are you going to police every post all just the ones that you don’t find relatable to you? Hmm

But honestly, if an expensive bracelet on a thread in S&B called Mumsnet Vogue is “shocking” then it might be kinder to oneself to use the hide thread function.

QueenCremant · 05/09/2021 17:06

@SouthernFashionista it’s not about being relatable. These boards allow for a little bit of fantasy. Some of us have bigger budgets than others. And that’s ok.

19k isn’t relatable to me but @CarolineBingley is now a personal friend thanks to this thread. She also will just as happily wear something from accessorise as long as it’s shiny enough!

There’s is no snobbery on this thread. There is room for everyone.
