Started off with amberama this morning and then the sample of baccarat rouge 540 arrived in the post so I couldn’t help it and slapped it on... umm, let’s just say it’s not love.. it’s smells like here’s fluid to me, or that iodine solution my granny used to have in her cupboards for when we skinned out shins messing in the back garden. I’ve tried to wash it off and it’s refusing to budge! I’ve no luck, all the things I love the smell off don’t have any staying power and the things i hate are bloody indestructible!

I quite like baccarat rouge but the price makes me really cross so I'd never buy it.
Sotd a vegan perfume (?) called bramble smoke from a new perfumery called Abbey Perfumery.
Its quite nice.

SOTD is the newly arrived Angel Nova. Its pretty much angel with extra woods and fruits and some of the choclatey smell toned down a bit, theres distinctly more woods in this for sure . i like it though, its very long last as well, i sprayed two sprays fromt he sample the send with it to 'try before you commit' and its lasted all day and i can still smell it on my jumper now

SOTD Sex Goddess 4160 from a sample set the lovely Rupert sent me.

I like it well enough but enough to purchase a full bottle.

I am tempted to sign up for 4160 Complicated Shadows on pre-order but I haven't smelt any of the versions of it... I am worried if I don't buy it I will miss out and be envious on release day!

razor I had clouds. It was lovely. Really well blended scent and unusual.
You can still get fluffy Lemon top I think? That was one of the 1st incarnations of clouds.
Sotd after my shower will be something warm...its grey and cold and rainy out there today ☂️

....and I always think that if I don't like it or won't use it a perfumista on here will take it off my hands!!!

@Bee0808 yes love amberama, was kicking myself for putting rouge 540 on and ruining it! I literally only put the tiniest bit on the back of my hand but it totally dominated and even after washing it off it was al I could smell right up to getting into bed.

Sotd sexiest scent ever (imho)... hmm, bit underwhelmed, it’s not bowling me over, maybe I had too high expectation based off the name! Oversold and underdelivered (imho) 😂

If anyone wants the baccarat rouge let me know, I’ll never get on with it so there’s a full sample, less one tiny spray sitting in the drawer that will only ever languish unloved here

Hex, I would love your unwanted Baccarat Rouge! I adore it but can’t really justify a full bottle. The slight medicinal note is a beautiful complement, to my nose! I have lots of samples to send you in exchange. Perhaps some of the 4160s you don’t already have?

My SOTD is Dark Heart of Old Havana, deep stewed fruit with rum and coffee. It is a very comforting fragrance for a rainy day indoors.

Baccarat Rouge is so divisive. Its the only 'Gourmand' scent I really enjoy but DH says it smells like mouldy wood. So I don't wear it anymore. I also really dislike anything sweet & vanillary as I seem to amp up the sugar quotient.

Sotd is Vintage Private Collection - sharp & pungent for a miserable damp day. Other than that I've been wearing Wrappings & La Fille De Berlin for the last few days.

SOTD Ffern winter. Smells like Christmas!

I prefer extra sexiest scent which is stronger (extrait version)

SOTD is soap and glory again which I have FINALLY finished on my using it up/no buy mission!!
Next I'm starting on samples as I have some with just a couple of sprays left in. Mostly 4160 Tuesdays ones

@Fferny1 I don’t get mouldy wood, never ceases to amaze me how everyone smells things so differently. Occasionally I have a wobble of confidence that I’ve slathered myslef in something I think smells amazing but could be walking around smelling with Men’s Victorian subway toilet stalls to everyone else. Ah well, I haven’t made any one visibly retch yet so I guess I’ll just crack on

Meant to add sotd is 4160 bodhi language, I’ve only just put it on so I’ll see what the dry down in like bit it’s a bit heavy on the vanilla for my nose at the minute, can’t quite place what it reminds me off, there’s a cocktail I used to drink years ago that it’s reminiscent off... it’s strange, that’s the first thing I think off but if I try to smell it it disappears and I get all the woods and then as I move away from it I get a hit of vanilla.

@Bee0808 that is a good point! I will invest in a small bottle and can always sell on.

Fluffy Lemon Top is going to be in my next set of samples as I think I'd really like it. Trying to wait til pay day for that, I have got too used to treating myself because it's lockdown, and trying to practise for when things re open and I also want to spend money down the pub

Oh, I know...I've been awful.
So many candles, bottles of perfume, things for the house...

I've just bought a bottle of unusual perfume for one of my customers. She doesn't like full on florals at all, so I found Farmers EDT - a very unisex blend of lavender, bergamot, elemi and lots of other things. It's like a very aromatic traditional cologne. I think I might go back & get one for me too.

Well, my bottle of Chanel Chance arrived...

Very nice, but I immediately recognised it as my best friend’s signature scent! I had no idea what it was for all these years.

I couldn’t get past it - it felt like wearing somebody else’s knickers.

So she now has an almost full bottle of Chance, and my search for ‘my’ Chanel fragrance continues...

I seem to be wearing my new Diptyque non-stop. I need to wear something else before I sicken myself of it.

SOTD 4160 Tuesday sleep knot. I hate jasmine and ylang ylang but love this

@Fferny1 I’m dying to know what line of work you’re in where your clients get bottles of perfume bought for them!

Sotd Dow in the snow as per @Bee0808 recommendation, it’s very soft and gentle, totally suits its name. Dries down to a powdery talc on my scent which is totally inoffensive but reminds me of when the babies were small and I had post natal depression not for me I think. It’s amazing how evocative smells can be.
