To you lovely lot who asked - I'm all ok thanks. First time with COVID despite working in an office throughout all the lockdowns, with the kids in school/nursery throughout.
Can't smell or taste a bloody thing (though still craving ice cream) but otherwise as right as rain. Slowly losing my mind while stuck at home with two little ones though. And miserable that we've missed end of the school year and a holiday we're meant to be going on.
Seeing as I can't enjoy perfume I was thinking of my summer top 5:
- JM nectarine blossom and honey. No saying power but so so glorious that I just don't care. Juicy and fresh and fruity.
- 4160 rhubarb and citrus. One of my favourite perfumes ever. Makes 30degrees in London bearable.
- clarins eau des jardins. I use this like a grown up body spray. It just smells like a lovey citrusy garden and I can use with abandon as - and I mean this in the best possible way - it won't offend anyone. It's uplifting and happy and easy to wear.
- diptyque l'ombre dans l'eau. I find this both tart and heady at the same time, and it reminds me of long summer drunken evenings before kids.
Struggling to choose between 4160 WIDOMH and diptyque philosykos (fuck knows if I've spelt that right). I love a fig perfume in the summer so will probably plump for that. I've found a few other figs recently I might slightly prefer but I can't smell them to remind myself which ones they are. And Phil is a classic that I've worn for years so I probably shouldn't let newness steal my heart without some proper wear time.
Well that was fun. That's 30mins of this hellish isolation well spent.
