Hello everyone, I hope you don't mind me popping in. SOTD today is Jovoy Gardez Moi. It's only a sample but it truly is a splendid gardenia, worthy of a wedding day. I wish it was cheaper!

@riotlady Karent Timson Envide is a great choice. Have you tried her fragrance called Hera? It's possibly the best orange blossom I've ever tried. Absolutely gorgeous and under £40 a bottle

I have! I don’t like it as much as Envide but it was nice. And very reasonably priced, especially compared to some niche perfumes!

Had a stupidly stressful week...mum was admitted to hospital on Monday but is back home now.
I've developed a weird rash thing on the centre of my chest so I've avoiding perfume this week

SOTD was a sample of Maison Crivelli Papyrus Moleculaire but it was irritating DH’s nose so I (tried to) scrub it off. It is a lightly woody, powdery leather with a little gentle spice though I’m not getting the green aromatics the notes promise. Great persistance though, despite a heavy cold and the scrub I can still smell from two small sample squirts. It really reminds me of BDK’s Crème de Cuir though pepper is about the only note they share.

There was a discussion on here about storing perfumes. I have quite a few, more than a hundred, plus miniatures, decants and samples, all kept in their boxes if possible and stored in stacking Really Useful boxes in a wardrobe. I like to think about what I might like to wear over the next week or two and get them out onto a little shelf unit (as pictured). But then quite often have a rummage in my boxes anyway!

Hi, I was wondering if @MissBattleaxe or any of you other perfume enthusiasts are able to help with some questions which I have about 4160 perfumes please? I like the sound Of Evil Max and Scenthuaism but with both of them as I read further down they both state that they are masculine fragrance. I especially like the sound of black cherries in Evil Max and I don't feel like this sounds particularly masculine, I very much go for feminine fragrances so should I just avoid them both? I was expecting to like L'occitane's Cherry Blossom fragrance but I'm not really a fan, it does smell slightly like going off fruit to me

SOTD M&S Freesia and Seasalt, it came in last year's beauty box, I do quite like it but it definitely doesn't smell expensive not that I'm not saying that it smells cheap!

Hi @Purpleblondelady. All 4160 perfumes are gender free. If you're looking for a pronounced cherry note then you might like 4160 Tuesdays Fruits of the tree of knowledge that smells like tart cherry jam. Scenthusiasm is a wonderful botanical fragrance that was a collaboration with Hendricks gin. It's gorgeous in spring.

I haven't smelled Evil Max for a long time but my friend Lisa loves it.

Thanks Battle, when I went back on 4160 Evil Max wasn't in my basket anymore, so I'll take that as a sign! I do like the sound of Scenthuaism and that it was a collab with Hendriks, but I'm not sure about the coriander in it.
I do very much like the sound of Fruits of the tree of Knowledge. I've added it to my very long list of fragrances that I want to try. With 4160 if a fragrance is in the vault does that just been that it's not sold by their stockists anymore?

@Purpleblondelady I love that Fresia and sea salt M&S too! I am looking for a longer lasting more expensive version but no luck yet.

I am having a scent of the week and it's MM Lazy Sunday Morning. I am going to work through a few samples like this. I have a girls trip to Liverpool in May and weekend in London in June and want to work out in advance what perfume I might treat myself too.

I did a count up and including samples I have 25 perfumes (this time last year it was none!) so I could rotate weekly for quite a long time!

And I ordered another 4160 sample set this week

Ooh Razor let me know if you do find a similar, higher class version! I like that it's quite fresh and spring like. I'm the same, last year I properly start my fragrance search and now I have quite a few and gathering better ideas of what I'm looking for?

Does any one know if Chanel Chance and MJ Daisy are quite similar?

@Purpleblondelady the ones in the vault are older and are sort of the last of their kind, although Sarah will always keep formulas in case there's a demand in future. Some of the ones in the vault are her very first when she started out. My favourite is Paradox which is an iris/violet/woody fragrance.

@Purpleblondelady By the way, I didn't detect a coriander note in Scenthusiasm, but then I like coriander so it wouldn't have turned me off. Scenthusiasm is definitely like all the clean fresh ingredients of gin before the alcohol is added, so: juniper, herbs, lemon, orange, cucumber, orris (iris root)

Hello everyone. I’m cold. It’s so dry everyone’s skin is cracking so SOTE goutal encens flamboyant layered with eczema cream.

@PearsMorgan I feel that! My skin has had an absolute hissy fit so I've now got spots, dermatitis on my hands and the corner of my mouth has split. Attractive(!)

Thanks @MissBattleaxe, sorry I couldn't post my reply last night for some reason. I think I'm going to have to go for it, I love the sound of it. I have spent a fortune so far this month already though, so I need to cut back after this.

I haven't decided on my SOTD yet today, probably one of the Zara samples that I'm not a fan of. My youngest DD is isolating so we can't go anywhere.
