I wouldn’t so much describe myself as a dress convert, as l’ve said previously on S&B, they have been my wardrobe go to for years; easy to wear and easy to look after.
I tend to try and avoid buying too many things from the same place, although l have a few from John Lewis, Next, joe Browns, Oliver Bonus, Zara and House of Fraser, with concessions such as Mint Velvet.
By accessorising differently, you can convert from the casual to almost posh frock.
Yes, l do wash after every wear as l would a top, but the additional length makes little difference to a washing load and l try to choise things that require minimum if any ironing.
On feet l tend to wear ballet flats or a court shoe (l don’t do heels) or, if just about the house, a pair of socks, not a pretty sight but I don’t wear (or allow) outdoor shoes in the house.
Legs? Autograph seamfree (they must be seamfree) opaque tights this time of year, sheer stockings (l’m old school!) in autumn and spring before celebrating the bare leg season.
