Mine is the Philip Kingsley elasticizer.
All my friends love it but every time.i try it my hear is left like a grease slick. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong as I follow every direction. I rinse my hair more than normal when using it.

What doesn't work for you?

For me it’s YSL touché eclat - makes my eyes incredibly itchy. Have heard others say the same - I think if it doesn’t irritate your skin, it works brilliantly but it’s no good for me,

PussyMalanga · 22/12/2020 17:17

Function of Beauty shampoo. I fell for the influencer hype. It's rubbish, and really expensive. A cheap bottle of Tresemmé does a better job.

Spodge · 22/12/2020 17:33

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. I just don't get it.

Thisbastardcomputer · 22/12/2020 17:39

Another vote for YSL touché eclat, I don't get it

Bathroom12345 · 22/12/2020 17:41

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. Just makes my skin drier

BlueStarRose · 22/12/2020 17:42

Charlotte tilbury makeup - overpriced and not good quality

Function of beauty shampoo/conditioner

mnahmnah · 22/12/2020 17:44

The Ordinary Buffet. Sticky. Didn’t make my skin feel or look good.

ChrissyPlummer · 22/12/2020 17:44

YY to 8 Hour Cream and Touché Eclat, neither have been any good for me.

The YSL mascara (can’t remember the name) that everyone raved about. It smells lovely, it looked lovely...until it started to flake all sodding day. Thought I may have just got a dodgy tube so bought another but it was the same.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 22/12/2020 17:46

Touche Éclat is crap. I get better results from Boots Natural Collection old fashioned stick concealer.
8 Hour Cream smells like petrol and Vaseline is better.

Shayisgreat · 22/12/2020 17:49

Charlotte Tilbury pillowtalk lipstick. It's not a universal nude - it doesn't suit me at all.

Oversizedhoodie · 22/12/2020 17:49

One hundred per cent function of beauty!!! I was led to expect higher by Sali Hughes who I love. Was terrible

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 22/12/2020 17:51

Face creams and foundations with spf in them. Cant wear them, they make my eye read and watery all day.

TheSilentStars · 22/12/2020 17:59

Virtually everything already mentioned!
The Ordinary- yes, it is.
Touche Eclat pen thing. Stinks like a dirty dishcloth after 3 days. Always tickles me that people still think it's a concealer and end up looking like a reverse panda. (I know they do a concealer concealer too, but the famous TE isn't it)
8 hour cream is greasy vaseline. Literally. The marketing guys must be the best there are though.
ANR was ahead of its time as one of the first serums to contain the ingredients it did, but now they've all got them in. It's also mainly cheap as chips hyaluronic acid so meh
Any hyaluronic acid
Any rosehip oil. Someone once said, once you get past 40, a rosehip oil ain't going to change anything. So true.

This makes me sound like a bitch (and I really like her columns and her videos on Insta and her general advice- I have her book and everything) but anything Sali Hughes wears on her own face- she says she has really dry skin, yet her (orangey) foundation looks like an oil slick. Whenever she says what she is using I think "oh, that's one to cross off" Blush

Thecazelets · 22/12/2020 18:07

Yes to PK Elasticizer - what a waste of money.

I enjoy her books and columns but don't follow Sali Hughes' skincare or foundation recommendations any more as my (greasy) skin's so different to hers. Great that I don't have a single wrinkle (over 50) but spots are still far more of a concern to me than dryness or dehydration.

BringMeTea · 22/12/2020 18:25

Couple spring to mind. Armani Luminous Silk foundation = crater like pore settling. Aveda thickening tonic = lank greasy mess.

ChrissyPlummer · 22/12/2020 19:19

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip (I think that’s the name) cleanser. Just the scent was enough to have my eyes watering like I’d chopped 100 onions. Wasn’t impressed with the whole range.

Onthetrain75 · 22/12/2020 19:58

Clarins flash beauty balm. Does absolutely nothing as far as I can see.

mnahmnah · 22/12/2020 20:07

@Onthetrain75

You must have amazing skin already Grin

ThriceThriceThice · 22/12/2020 20:28

Yes to YSL touche eclat - it’s just shiny stuff under your eyes and doesn’t work as a concealer at all.
Benefit generally leave me underwhelmed - as do all mascaras that aren’t Lancôme.
Clinique skin care is about the same as Nivea for me.

But I love PK elasticizer - I have semi fine hair and it works wonders on mine. I also love any make-up by Laura Mercier.

earsup · 22/12/2020 21:33

The Ordinary Caffeine stuff for eyes....used it every day until I finished the bottle....zero difference

Clarins beauty flash....again no results...the cheaper one from Boots time delay range...radiance booster seems ok

KangapooandRoo · 22/12/2020 21:38

Hair remover spring thing for eyebrows/tash - leaves me with ingrowing hairs

Chickydoo · 22/12/2020 21:50

Anything by Kerastase, just doesn't seem to work.
Expensive mascara, I prefer Maybeline.
8 hr cream is just greasy.
I love Beauty Flash Balm though, gives me a nice glow, find its great under make up

ChrissyPlummer · 22/12/2020 22:24

Kerastase was nice on my hair, but I’m unfortunately allergic to it, brings me out in a rash when I use it in the shower 😢.

sausagepastapot · 22/12/2020 22:44

YY to Pillowtalk, urgh.

Elemis pro collagen marine cream, I hate it.

Elasticizer has been hit and miss for me. Won't buy it again though once this lot runs out. Olplex is miles miles better.

Urban Decay all nighter, entirely pointless.

Gerbi1 · 22/12/2020 22:46

Do you put it in WET hair?
