Mine is the Philip Kingsley elasticizer.
All my friends love it but every time.i try it my hear is left like a grease slick. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong as I follow every direction. I rinse my hair more than normal when using it.

What doesn't work for you?

Another one here for Touché Eclat.
Also Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream which I has to chuck away because I couldn't abide the smell.

TheDailyMailIsAFilthyRag · 22/12/2020 22:59

Was coming on to say Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. See I'm not the only one!

Baycob · 22/12/2020 23:02

Pixi mud mask, kerestase shampoo/conditioner, isle of paradise tan, Aveda volumizing spray and damage repair serum 🤷‍♀️

Scbchl · 22/12/2020 23:03

Ysl touche eclat, it's so overrated.

changedmynameforChristmas · 22/12/2020 23:07

Months ago I started using Revatalift hyaluronic acid serum. It left my forehead with lots of tiny bumps and I had to stop using it. They are still there. It feels like I have damaged my skin using it and it was not cheap

MariaTia · 22/12/2020 23:15

Elasticizer here too. Just did nothing, very disappointing. Also Aveda shampoo and leave in conditioner.
Kerastase shampoo makes my hair get greasy very quickly and irritates my scalp. Like the conditioners though

NowWashYourHandsPlease · 22/12/2020 23:24

I forgot the name, but a tiny pot of Laura Mercier brightening powder for under your eyes. I use the tiniest amount and dot it on with a brush so gently and seems to make my bags 6 times bigger and look absolutely haggard

NotVeryChattySchoolMum · 22/12/2020 23:49

Perfumes:

Byredo - seems incredibly expensive for their stuff that hardly lasts on the skin and doesn't smell that special...maybe I like Bal'd Afrique but can easily think of other happy summery scents. Ditto Jo Malone, even though stuff smells nice (if a bit like home fragrance) but the concentrations must be....homeopathic! Diptyque seems to be so much better on my skin - can smell but not project too much.

Yes.. Kerastase does nothing for me but my daughter likes it
Woeismypants · 23/12/2020 00:13

Olaplex
The Ordinary

Nikhedonia · 23/12/2020 00:47

The tinted moisturiser from Laura Mercier. Was a MN favourite years and years ago. Brought me out in the worst kind of cystic looking acne ever. Never had such terrible skin in my life.

dontgobaconmyheart · 23/12/2020 02:43

Estee lauder night repair, literally no tangible benefits that I can see, feels like nothing on the skin. Broke me out to add insult to injury and I swear made my skin drier.

Another one for the 8 hour cream here too. I can't imagine who would use it or for what. It's a rank sticky tube of 2/3 vaseline and a few immaterial drops of other bits. It has salycyclic acid in, which us actually drying. I think people - god knows why- get very excited over any marketing that purports you can 'dab' a bit 'anywhere' and put the 'leftovers on your cuticles". To make it sound worth the money.

The nuxe lipbalm that everyone raved about a few years ago I thought was awful and not moisturising with a weird texture.

Otherwise that Dior nail glow, and all Chanel's nail varnishes.

TuxedoPanther · 23/12/2020 04:33

Charlotte Tilbury anything.

myhumps123 · 23/12/2020 04:42

IT cosmetics. Crap foundation, greasy concealer and mascara flakes throughout the day.
Kiehls midnight recovery face oil. Had very high hopes. Left my skin drier and caused a couple of breakouts.
Ouai thickening shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo had a lovely aroma but that's about it.
Elemis Marine cream. Smells disgusting, caused breakouts.
Tarter concealer. Ok but nothing great.

myhumps123 · 23/12/2020 04:42

Tarte

ChrissyPlummer · 23/12/2020 05:21

Oh God...Elemis. A few years ago I treated myself to the cleansing balm, the Marine Cream and a cleanser for the morning that you removed with a cloth. My skin has never been so bad, everything was just so heavy. I was gutted as I wanted to love it.

Bluntness100 · 23/12/2020 05:29

Touché eclat for me too, and ysl mascara, both give me styes in my eyes.

Oreservoir · 23/12/2020 05:36

Touche éclat - does nothing
Clinique - All about eyes - no visible effect imo

violetbunny · 23/12/2020 05:59

@ThriceThriceThice

Yes to YSL touche eclat - it’s just shiny stuff under your eyes and doesn’t work as a concealer at all. Benefit generally leave me underwhelmed - as do all mascaras that aren’t Lancôme. Clinique skin care is about the same as Nivea for me.

But I love PK elasticizer - I have semi fine hair and it works wonders on mine. I also love any make-up by Laura Mercier.

That's because it's not a concealer, it's a highlighter.
Malin52 · 23/12/2020 05:59

Oh god sooo many.
Clinique moisture surge - made my skin really dry. WTF?
Touche eclat - the fucking thing seems endless and just highlights every pore line and bag
Clarins Beauty Fish - balls up under make up
Bobby brown foundation stick - oxidises madly and sits nicely in every pore
Every sodding primer ever - I've got millions of them and they are all either drying, bally or create a facial oil slick
Tinted moisturiser/Cc creams/Bb creams - no coverage and hair sticks to face
Better than sex mascara - shit
Anything from beauty and the boutique - the lovely videos of a face made up with select products that makes the owner look fresh faced and stunning again make me look like I've ran 20ks. Shiny and red faced.

I hate chucking things away so have to finish these things

lyinginthegutterstaringatstars · 23/12/2020 06:23

@PussyMalanga

Function of Beauty shampoo. I fell for the influencer hype. It's rubbish, and really expensive. A cheap bottle of Tresemmé does a better job.
Thanks for posting this. I'm always tempted to buy this because of the fancy website where you click the tabs to get what colour and qualities you want in a shampoo Hmm
Elwynne · 23/12/2020 06:27

La roche Posey tinted moisturizer makes me look like an umpa lumpa Blush

notacooldad · 23/12/2020 07:31

Olaplex
The Ordinary
They are two brands that I have bought last week for the first time.
I bought the trial size olaplex but not used it yet. I'm wIting to get my roots done after Christmas and then use it.

I got buffet and something else from The Ordinary and it has made my skin feel extremely dry. So much so the beauty therapist asked what happened to my skin when she did my threading and brows last week.
I dmfirgit to take my moisturizer to work when I was on a sleep over a few months ago and bought Nivea light ( the one in the white tub) as an emergency and it has been amazing!!! I'm going to stick with that for now.

Another vote for pillow talk (or charlotte tilbury lipsticks in general) made my lips ridiculously dry.

SingleWhiteFemail · 23/12/2020 07:56

Banana garnier hair food mask.
It literally did nothing for my hair. Cantu and Aussi hair masks are good.

Charcoal powder and tooth paste..i found arm and hammer much better at whitening.

The ordinary 10 minutes peeling solution. I found superdrug overnight glycolic acid much morr effective.

Yes to carrots mask. I found garnier moisture bomb much better.

Loreal clay mask pots. I found aztec healing clay frim amazon much more effective.

Egyptian magic. I like the idea of it but found it left my skin very dry and took aaages to dry. I think i could find a cheaper bees wax based thick cream from natural shops like neal yards, burts bees or small skin care online companies. Egyptian magic is a hype.

Norwegian lip balm. I love their hand moisturizer but i found okeefe or burt bees better at keeping dry lips at bay.

T gel dandruff shampoo. I toind good old head and shoulders better.

If i think of more i will repost.
