New thread to continue discussion of any and all beauty advent calendars. As before please don’t post details of content before 7am on the relevant morning.

Only 3 days left to go Sad. But we can continue to discuss products used, and those doing Jadvent please continue posting updates.

I've just had an awful thought after mentioning breakfast - I wasn't in the office the day we shut down in march. I really hope someone has emptied the fridge as I had a large tub of yoghurt in it envy

I shouldn't worry - fridges 'should' be emptied weekly. It's an employer's H & S responsibility. Hope they've done it!

I guarantee my employer hasn't done it. Last time it was cleaned (I never used it before that as it was a serious cess pit) my office neighbour brought in rubber gloves and serious chemicals. She put up a couple of forthright notices about keeping it clean and I brought in a cloth and cleaning stuff. It's been kept pretty clean since.

Microwave is still disgusting. No way will I use that.

Talisin · 07/01/2021 06:23

Today is Natura Siberica Natural Hair Mask which I’ll give a whirl at the weekend.

DrRamsesEmerson · 07/01/2021 07:40

Rimmel jelly highlighter in Amazon today. Another meh day.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 07/01/2021 16:27

I've been working. Too tired to post Grin Further in Selfridges, I've had a huda eyeliner today, a REN magnesium body oil ( I buy this anyway for leg cramps), an Ordinary buffet and Ex Nihilo fleur Narcotique 7.5m (lush).

So apart from the Morphe highlight stick, all is good so far.

Talisin · 08/01/2021 07:21

Welleda Arnica Recuperating Bath Milk from H&B today. Right, that’s going with the hair mask for upcoming pamper session this weekend.

DrRamsesEmerson · 08/01/2021 07:33

That Weleda stuff is lovely, @Talisin - I’ve already bought another bottle of it after getting it in the calendar last month.

Max Factor blusher + highlighter in Amazon today, in colours I think will work OK on me.

Talisin · 08/01/2021 08:15

Ooh, good to know - thanks @DrRamsesEmerson!

OchonAgusOchonO · 08/01/2021 09:28

Just finished the LF advent calendar today (started the 15/12 when it finally arrived). Overall, the contents were pretty good and I would have been happy with it if it had arrived on time.

Obviously, I will never buy from LF again as it was all very stressful and upsetting, but in the end, the calendar was refunded, plus I got €121 of store credit from them, I discovered the CEW beauty edit, which was amazing and I did the advent journey on this wonderful tread where I got to see all sorts of calendars being opened. So overall, it was a bit of a blessing in disguise Grin

Thank you all and I hope you enjoy the rest of jadvent.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 08/01/2021 19:12

Halo reusable make up remover pad. 1! Sigh.

ashmts · 08/01/2021 21:48

Quite right @OchonAgusOchonO! I won't be buying from them again after seeing the level of their customer service. Ditto Glossybox (I think they might be linked in some way as see you can spend Glossy credit on LF?) as that calendar I ordered on 27th November never arrived. I've chased it about 5 times (including on Twitter) and they just keep saying they've passed it to the relevant team and thanks for my patience and sending wee love heart emojis. It's pathetic service and very infuriating

OchonAgusOchonO · 08/01/2021 22:00

@ashmts - that's awful. That was the 2019 calendar, wasn't it?

You need to be persistent on twitter. I annoyed the hell out of them, including responding up positive tweets. Eventually they just wanted me to go away

ashmts · 08/01/2021 23:01

@OchonAgusOchonO yeah 2019, if I ever get it I'll have lost the urge fgs. I had given them a bit of leeway over Christmas but there's no excuse now so I'll be hassling them on Twitter as of tomorrow as you suggest.

OchonAgusOchonO · 08/01/2021 23:18

Good luck with it ash

DrRamsesEmerson · 09/01/2021 08:50

Altruist sunscreen factor 50 in Amazon today. More meh. The odd thing is that when I bought it I thought there were enough worthwhile things in there to justify the price, so they must be in the second half of the calendar.

Good luck with LF, ash!

bigdecisionstomake · 09/01/2021 10:40

Roccabox still giving me interesting items. Todays is Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm. Apparently I can use it wherever I have dry skin and it has multiple uses and is not just for your nipples! It looks and smells like Vaseline, only a bit thicker - as it’s a tiny tube I expect I will use it up. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow has to offer.

OchonAgusOchonO · 09/01/2021 10:47

I got the nipple cream before and it's really good for dry patches.

bigdecisionstomake · 09/01/2021 10:59

@OchonAgusOchonO I’m guessing it might actually be useful to stop nipple chafe when running - when weather gets warmer obviously, don’t want to get too carried away!

OchonAgusOchonO · 09/01/2021 11:30

@bigdecisionstomake - quite possibly. My back is too dodgy to try running now but back when I used to, it wasn't anything I suffered from. Large boobs = serious sports bra with nothing moving so no chafing Grin

Butterymuffin · 09/01/2021 11:38

Yesterday I got a Bare Minerals Skinlongevity herb serum. Always like trying serums.

Today's is a Nudestix lip and cheek pencil - I am never convinced these dual use things work for both but it's a decent looking nude style shade so will try it on my lips.

Talisin · 09/01/2021 13:47

Ecodent toothpaste today. Will get passed on (if I can find anyone who wants it) or chucked as I have sensitive teeth and use Sensodyne only. I’m impressed that the majority of the stuff so far is fullsize.

ajandjjmum · 09/01/2021 15:47

So from LF today I got.........a black eyeline pencil.

Butterymuffin · 09/01/2021 15:59

Ah @ajandjjmum I remember that day arriving in December! My thoughts are with you at this difficult time Grin

bigdecisionstomake · 09/01/2021 16:27

Sorry to hear about the black eyeliner @ajandjjmum - we've all been there Grin

@Butterymuffin I like trying new serums and a herb one sounds lovely. John Lewis Advent calendar performed quite well for skincare stuff in December but so far nothing from Roccabox - hoping for some as I open more...

Talisin · 09/01/2021 16:46

I have just taken a bath using the Arnica bath milk from H&B, washed my hair with Living Proof Full shampoo (Fenwicks) followed by the Siberica hair mask (H&B) and used a shampoo brush (not from a calendar but recommened on the calendar thread). Afterward I used the hyaluronic serum from H&B followed by the Clarins moisturiser from Fenwicks - I feel properly justified in my calendar purchases now!

For what it’s worth, I rate the hyaluronic serum and will definitely buy again. I like the Clarins moisturiser and Living Proof shampoo but like other (cheaper) products just as well so unlikely to buy. I rarely use bath products so unlikely to buy more bath milk - having said that, I woke up aching in my back and chest this morning from yoga last night and that bath did feel very soothing, so maybe? I’ll wait until my hair dries to come to a verdict on the hair mask.
