@CaveMum I love that dress!

Hi Everyine can I join?
I had DD four months ago, had a haemorrhage then sepsis and now I’m waiting on reconstructive surgery.
With everything going on I’ve bearly got out my pyjamas, I’m back to work in 6 weeks and hoping to actually get dressed for that!

You all look gorge!

NeedWineNow · 03/01/2021 11:16

Have done virtual Zumba class this morning so after a shower I'm now in knit yoga pants from Peacocks with an old Chelsea t-shirt as we're taking the decorations down and will be up and down to the loft. Likewise it's my last day off so have made a resolution to wear smarter stuff whilst working at home. I've got a wardrobe of nice stuff but I've slipped down the jeans/comfies route. Nothing structured or fitted, but loose dresses, tunics with leggings, wide legged trousers with a nice top. And light make-up and jewellery.

Ellapaella · 03/01/2021 11:36

Welcome @Boomclaps

happytobemrsg · 03/01/2021 11:42

Welcome @Boomclaps!

Thank you for the mom jeans suggestions. I will check them out. I need easy returns - I get Hermes to collect it from my house & deliver back, so I need to make sure that’s an option. So for now I’m back in my ill fitting ones

Jumper: Only
Jeans: Zara

I'm back in my joggers again today, but have made a bit more effort and tucked in a band tshirt, so I feel a bit less slobby!

I'm probably a bit too new to the thread to welcome you @Boomclaps, (joined two days ago), but welcome anyway from me!

Sickoffamilydrama · 03/01/2021 11:51

Great jumpers @Sooverthemill & @Ellapaella.

I love Sugarhill patterns @CaveMum have a flamingo patterned dress from them that I love.

Welcome newbies 👋

My birthday present for my mum came is a nice shape on me but the belts it's a bit too high and constantly comes undone so it's going back. So now on the hunt for cream jumper has a similar shape but without a belt.

Feeling tired and grumpy today sometimes I get lots of joint pain because I'm unfit and hyper mobile plus DS spoke up at 5 then I couldn't get back to sleep, so gone for warm and practical.

Welcome @Boomclaps, I only joined 3 days ago and they seem a friendly bunch Wink Sorry you had a rough time with your birth/post-birth. When you are feeling up to it and want some “mum” focussed exercise, I can highly recommend MUTU System.

Welcome newbies 👋

Thanks GrinFlowers

Purplecatshopaholic · 03/01/2021 12:04

Last wearing of the Christmas leggings this festive season. Primark’s finest - bought as a bit of a joke but I love them! Should be taking the dog out but it’s snowing here again and icy already, and frankly treacherous under foot, so PurplecatDog may have to wait. I have to say he is snoring on the sofa quite happy, so my guilt is somewhat tempered!

They look comfy & warm @Purplecatshopaholic, I love them. My jeans are not long enough so my ankles are cold. Really not happy with these but no alternative yet

OublietteBravo · 03/01/2021 13:45

Welcome @AlbertaAlberta and @Boomclaps. I find this a lovely friendly thread (I’ve been here a little over a year now).

Final day of casual clothes before returning to slightly more office wear (even though WFH seems to be indefinite). Finally wearing my new DMs (@Ellapaella and @toastfiend have the same style in different colours).

Jeans: Boden

Has anyone seen @Shannith recently? I was browsing the Jigsaw sale and found myself wondering about her (and @Lobsterquadrille2 too).

PalacePaper · 03/01/2021 18:45

Hi everyone and belated Happy New Year!

I can really identify with those feeling a bit down. The school situation on top of the usual January blues is getting me down Sad I'm back to work tomorrow having been lucky enough to have 2 weeks off and not looking forward to getting back to reality!

Clothes-wise nothing very exciting to report, no sale purchases which is unheard of for me! @Sooverthemill I love the jumper, and @CaveMum I'm off to look at your dress so maybe it will end up being one sale purchase after all Wink

Today I wore velvet lined tights from M&S (soooo cosy!), jumper from Boden and skirt from white stuff

If anyone is after a sale bargain, Pure have an extra 10% off sale prices. A knitted dress and cashmere cardigan might have fallen into my basket Wink

Lobsterquadrille2 · 03/01/2021 18:58

Hello @OublietteBravo and happy New Year! You're as stylish as ever. I'm around but .... hanging my head in shame, I am living Monday to Friday in my (new, very warm!) dressing gown from Top Shop - plugged in front of my laptop for far too many hours. I also have my winter pounds on, which is slightly annoying .. I hate winter in the UK. I'm not hardy, happy to be outside bundled up with a smile and rosy cheeks etc.

Anyway it's year end work from tomorrow but I have ordered some new stuff so will be back on here when it arrives and I can get into it. I saw @Shannith on a thread recently too.

And a huge hello to everyone else and loving the outfits - especially that gorgeous Hush jumper, @Ellapaella !

Shannith · 03/01/2021 22:36

Hello @obliettebravo and @Lobsterquadrille2

I’m here, I got quite out of the Mumsnet habit for a bit (after 10 years!) but I’m getting back knit it again and you’ve reminded me this thread is the best bit about Mumsnet.

I’ll have a good catch up, hope everyone had a lovely

I’m currently rocking a fetching outfit of truly massive grey fluffy trousers, a long fluffy top and DDs pink fluff socks. And the smallest cat.

I’ve mostly been wearing all the clothes a la Joey in Friends as it’s been nippy and DD got a stunt scooter for Christmas so I’ve been doing a lot of standing around skate parks.

I did pick up these pink Stan Smith beauties for £4 to make me smile. Oh and some bootcut jeans (I know!!) as I appear to be having a 90s throwback moment.

Sooverthemill · 04/01/2021 08:56

Welcome @Boomclaps! It's A friendly thread so I hope you enjoy our company
Welcome back @Lobsterquadrille2 and @Shannith

So yesterday was ridiculous! After deciding I 'needed' new white t shirts I bought from sezane at full price a few things I'd been coveting for a while and managed to get free postage by hassling them ( apparently we've left the continent of Europe? Who felt that happening?) and also after reading wearsmymoney's ace dungaree blog I bought a fourth pair of Dungarees. Totally unnecessary but I should recognise my triggers ( extreme helplessness at DDs deteriorating condition at present and her sadness at how ill she is. So even holding a new hamster for moment wipes her out for the rest of he evening. )

So, my NY resolution is to not buy anything else at all until at least my birthday ( April). That means not looking at any shops!

Beginning to undo xmas in our house so I'm out of velvet and into dungarees!

Tee: Boden years old
Dungarees: fatface
Trainers: vans
Cardigan: warehouse

@Shannith bargain and PINK!

CaveMum · 04/01/2021 09:38

Morning all. Back to the grindstone today, well working from home at least! DD (6) has an inset day today so I’ve got her to entertain too!

Keeping it simple today, though I do have a full face of make up on for the first time in ages!

Knitted dress - Hobbs

I think I should join you in not buying anything else until April @Sooverthemill!

Back to work today, so I thought I’d wear a dress to try and make myself feel officey.

Hermes does lots of people now, more trailers have added them in. I actually paid to use hermes once over lockdown it was only around £3 and I thought it was better than DH waiting in the long queue at PO
