Love your trousers @Sooverthemill. They look great on you. I think I’d like some velvet ones next year, I’m just not 100% sure on how to style them.

Today’s outfit. DH isn’t a huge fan of dungarees so I’m giving them a break today.

Jumper: Only
Jeans: Zara (these are too big on me now but they are the only mom jeans I have which are not ripped)
Belt: Gucci (new - I bought the Matt silver version so I could wear it with my rose gold jewellery, just don’t like the brass one with rose gold)

Today I’m channelling black and navy - a colour combination I’ve actively avoided for years.

Hello! Hope you don't mind me joining you on here. Looking for some inspiration and find that sharing my outfits makes me dress a bit less slob-like . So, in the interest of new year, new me yada yada...

Here I am in top with collar and floral skirt, (both bought recently in the Dorothy P sale).

Thanks for the welcome all. I know I don’t make full use of my wardrobe - I have several beautiful dresses from L K Bennett, Issa, etc that hardly ever see the light of day as I’ve “saved” them for special occasions, so I’m determined to wear them more (now that they finally fit again after shedding most of my “baby” weight).

I work in horse racing, so in a normal year I’d go racing several times, giving me a chance to dress up a bit more so I’m hoping I can do the same again this year! Otherwise I’m going to be rocking the school/nursery run before heading back to work from home 😂

Evening all.. everyone looking lovely. Today was a bit 'meh' - have period from hell and hormones have left me feeling very weepy. Had a cry taking down the Christmas decorations, feeling very out of sorts and not at all enthusiastic about the prospect of 2021. Felt a bit emotional about the fact that every month that goes by that I can't see my parents is yet another month we'll never get back.
My eldest son also went back to Bath (he's at college but had to get back for his part time job) and I'm missing him terribly.
Pulled myself together and went out for a run - now feeling in a much better fettle and hopefully tomorrow being a new day I will summons up some enthusiasm for the coming year.
Ordered some walking boots in the sale. My Jack Wolfskin coat seems to have got stuck in transit with Parcel Force so could be a while before that shows up.
Hush coated jeans, old blouse from FC and DM's today. Also had a long warm cardigan on from H&M as it was a bit chilly.

Sorry you’re feeling low @Ellapaella I’m very up & down too. Distraction seems to be the only thing that works for me, so maybe me getting back to work next week will help. Glad your run made you feel a bit better

So sorry that you're feeling down @Ellapaella. It's always a bit flat at this time of year anyway but after 2020 I think a lot of people are going to struggle. I'm glad your run helped make you feel better. Hurrah for endorphins!

Mr jilliwilliwoo does have a pretty good idea when it come to presents and I had a lovely haul of clothes this Christmas. He doesn't, however, always get the sizing right so I've had to return a fabulous pair of Mou Eskimo boots that are too small and sold out in my size ☹️

I had been wearing a pink American Vintage top but dropped curry down the front and had to change. Hopefully you'll get to see it if I can get the stain out!

I don't think I've shown off my gorgeous sparkly poncho, a charity shop find for £10 new with tags! It's lovely and soft, not at all as scratchy as it looks. I wore it nonstop over Christmas (away from food)

Sorry to hear that some people are feeling down. Regular January Blues mixed with the current shit show is a recipe for disaster. I’m currently stressing about schools/nurseries. We’re Tier 4 and currently no plans to close them but Lockdown 1 was incredibly stressful with a 3yo and 6yo plus attempting to work from home.

Definitely a touch of the January blues here. Dressed in my workout clothes with the intention of doing some circuits. Unfortunately it is too snowy and icy to run here otherwise I'd do that.
Excuse the part decorated bedroom. Haven't quite managed to finish painting my cupboards yet.

Wouldn't normally wear socks but there is no chance I'm having any skin showing - it's 12.8 degrees in our bedroom as we have no radiators yet ❄️

Thank you @happytobemrsg. I do like these Boden velvet jeans, all bought massively discounted a few years ago. They aren't too 'skinny' more relaxed. I have jigsaw velvet richmonds too ( like @jilliwilliwoo I'm guessing) but they feel more 'going out' so they don't get much wear! You can definitely just wear them as if they were jeans or dress them up. And tons on eBay very good prices

I'm sending hugs to everyone who is feeling low. It's been such a strange year for everyone and it's very hard to find the joy I know. I was despondent yesterday and DD was in tears much of the day. She has tonsillitis! I think we are going to have to find a private hospital for the traditional op, I cannot bear the thought of another 9 hour return trip for her ( or me TBR).

@jili how do you get a DH that is into clothes? The other day I moaned at mine for wearing a stained, tatty tee to a zoom with friends and he was just so confused that I noticed or cared. Sad

Anyway clothes:
I took a punt on this very very Boden sweatshirt. There are lots of floral jumpers and sweats around and I like the idea but they are expensive so when I mistakenly got offered 40% discount the other day I seized it! Had to chase them to get them to honour it but they did ( so they should I've bought at least 1 item from Boden every year since they launched ). Very very happy to hear opinions. It's quite different from my usual fairly 'classic' style. I think I like it and DH made no comment so he must not hate it ( he's vocal)

I like it @Sooverthemill! The jumper looks very nice with the velvet trousers. Is it warm? Seems to be my main requirement right now! I have tonsillitis & I’m part way through a course of nausea-inducing antibiotics. I hope your DD is better soon.

My DH is a PT so he only wears joggers & tshirts/hoodies. He has “nice” ones from superdry, CK etc but that’s pretty much all he wears. He mixes it jump with jeans when he goes out. The other day he wore a jumper I really hate - he’s had it for 15+ years & it’s horrible & shapeless. I mentioned it to him & the next day I found it in the bin!

Not very imaginative so I’ve gone all out with makeup - my DC bought me an eyeshadow palette from Mac for Christmas & I’m enjoying playing around with it

I am back in my joggers today, but in my defence, it is weekend and I've buggared my foot, so can't really go out today anyway. Can't walk very well!

So, here I am in M&S joggers and vest, an old tshirt which I don't even remember buying and a puffy sleeved sweater which I got in a bundle from Lost Stock.

Like a pp, since it's a boring outfit, I've actually put makeup on! Just BB cream mixed with a bit of highlighter stuff, brown mascara and eyebrow pencil.

Would anyone recommend any good mom/straight jeans? Zara’s sizing is rubbish. My New Look ones are nice but the same size in different colours don’t fit for some reason.

@happytobemrsg the only ones I've ever really had that I liked were by Bershka from ASOS. I'm not sure they suit me.

Went for a beach walk this am and got absolutely soaked jn freezing cold sleet!
Back home and changed into the new Whistles Tiger print top and Hush coated jeans.

I like the Boden sweater @Sooverthemill - it's a bit different and goes well with the trousers

@happytobemrsg - I find Gap are good for straight jeans.

I think I’m going to attempt to be abut more dressed up from Monday when I start work again. And I’m seriously debating making my family get properly dressed up once per month for dinner (at home). In the meantime I’m still casual.

It's alright @OublietteBravo if I keep everything I've bought in the sales lately I'm sure I've covered your spend as well I think you always look nice so don't think you need to make an effort but it is nice to dress up.

Glad you are feeling a bit better @Ellapaella and great outfit. Sorry to hear others feel the same it usually hits me after next week as my birthday is soon I find there's then nothing to look forward to, even though there is and my bday isn't ever a big thing.

Love the sweatshirt @Sooverthemill but I am a lover of colour and pattern. It will be great in winter to add colour and will also look fresh in spring.

I'm feeling stylish which is great I want to feel this way every day, only thing I'm not sure about is if I should go for a less chunky or longer jumper???? I'll try that next time.
