I love the lip pencil. Don’t be put off. Give it a go!!! The pre cleanse I am using as a cleanse! They do love to layer extra stages on us!

MiaN · 07/12/2020 06:38

me too, pre cleanse is enough for me and I don't find it leaves any residue.

mynameiscalypso · 07/12/2020 06:40

@Whatiswrongwithmykid

My face is so sore after the pre-cleanse. Anyone else found this?!
I haven't found it with the pre-cleanse although I find it quite drying. I have found it with the venn though.
thecognoscenti · 07/12/2020 07:07

Very pleased with this morning's!

MiaN · 07/12/2020 07:18

I like it a lot but don't love it. Great size for handbag/travelling

mynameiscalypso · 07/12/2020 07:21

I really disliked the smell at first; it was so sickly. But it's mellowed a bit now and is fine. Not amazing but fine.

MiaN · 07/12/2020 07:23

I feel the same mynameiscalypso.

Chickydoo · 07/12/2020 07:30

Dear Polly by Vilhelm
I really don't like the smell, nice bottle though

Day 1 Aveda leave in conditioner- I am giving it another chance using very little. Happy to try but not sure about the product
Day 2 Venn all in one. Love this! agree
Day 3 Toner ..no way for my skin
Day 4 AA bath oil. Love this but I wish it was little larger bottle
Day 5 Nars lip pencil, not my colour but I am going to get some use of it
Day 6 Dermalogica cleanser. I have it already but will save this for travel
Day 7 Dear polly perfume. Too sweet not for me - agree

The Venn is my favourite so far, followed by teh bath oil. Dermalogica would have rated higher but I have full size in oil and balm - I am fan of the product.

AesopsMables · 07/12/2020 08:02

I do like this brand of perfume, especially last years Peony scent. As others have commented I'm finding it sweet but await the dry down. Gorgeous bottle.

KatharinaRosalie · 07/12/2020 08:05

I really love the perfume. Opened it accidentally yesterday and put it on again this morning, even if I'm not going anywhere. Oddly it doesn't smell sweet to me at all, smells like tea with lemon (no sugar).

Polpette · 07/12/2020 08:10

My husband just asked who was wearing Lynx. So the perfume is not a hit. Will stick with it for a bit and see if it grows on me.

Hits so far are:

Dermalogica - left my skin feeling really clean, which was a surprise as it didn't feel unclean before. This is one I may add to my routine permanently.

Venn - I love this, it has such a silk-like texture. But it seems to be irritating my cheeks. Or that may be a coincidence, will monitor closely.

AA oil - gorgeous feel and scent but I agree with @MiaN it's too small. Just three uses according to the instructions.

Quite a few buts in there!

I know I sound ungrateful but I find the more you spend on something the higher your expectations are.

I'm sure it will pick up from here on out.

MrsArcher23 · 07/12/2020 08:10

I’m delighted to find the perfume today. I loved last year’s so much, I bought more. (And my first impression last year was poor). I’ll wear it today and see how I get on in a few hours.

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 07/12/2020 08:15

How do you get the perfume out?! I’ve no hole in the silver lid and if I take it off there’s just the internal plastic parts. I’m thinking it’s broken.
Plus my face is still burning from the pre- cleanse. I’m not enjoying this calendar so far.

There's a little lid, if you pull the very top part it will come off
Polpette · 07/12/2020 08:17

@MrsArcher23 that's good to know as I really want to like this perfume. Not least because I love the bottle design.

As it's settling on my skin it's reminding me a lot like CK One. It must be the tea and bergamot notes that are in both.

AllTheDogsIveLovedBefore · 07/12/2020 08:28

The perfume is ok...it is like CK One and also the Anna Sui one with the angel on the cap.

Orcadianrythyms · 07/12/2020 08:37

It's always going to be a risk with perfume, I don't like it on first sniff but my daughter is gathering a good haul. When she gets home from University she'll be delighted.
I don't think I'll do Liberty again tbh, maybe my expectations were too high but the Amazon beauty I sent my daughter has delivered much more bang for buck. Maybe I'm just not classy enough Confused

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 07/12/2020 08:45

This is what I have when I take the silver “lid” off.

Are the silver cap and the top bit of the perfume with the spray bit stuck together?
mynameiscalypso · 07/12/2020 08:51

For me, I think the thing with the Liberty calendar is that I like it because it's very rarely things I would actually buy myself because they either seem too expensive for what they are or it would just never occur to me to purchase them (like a pre-cleanser). I don't really expect to get 'useful' products per se or basics but it's about little luxuries that I may or may not like but it doesn't matter either way because that's the fun of it. I don't particularly want practical things. The more ridiculous the better!

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 07/12/2020 08:51

Yes it looks like they are. There’s no way of prising them apart though as the cap seems to be jammed right down. I’ve contacted customer services to see if they can send a replacement.

millymae · 07/12/2020 08:52

Surely I can’t be the only one who loves this perfume - I have a full bottle bought last time I was in London. To say I was attracted to it initially because of the name sounds a bit sad but that was what drew me to try the tester in the first place..
I’m keeping my tester until my bottle runs out but my main complaint about the full size bottle which is also lovely to look at is that it’s round and chubby and not the easiest to hold and spray, plus it’s difficult to see the hole where the perfume comes from so if I’m not careful the perfume ends up everywhere but on me.

KatharinaRosalie · 07/12/2020 09:03

Day 1 Aveda leave in conditioner- like it, makes my hair very smooth and soft.
Day 2 Venn all in one - haven't opened, want to use up some other stuff first.
Day 3 Toner - not going to use
Day 4 AA bath oil. Will use it up in bath but I don't like the smell at all. Mix of old lady and pharmacy.
Day 5 Nars lip pencil - nice
Day 6 Dermalogica cleanser - too harsh for me, not going to use
Day 7 Dear polly perfume - love it, will probably buy the full size.
