Ooohh a Davines product - their Oi shampoo is amazing, makes hair really clean and full and bouncy. Unfortunately they don’t ship it where I live for no known reason yet I’ve had it in calendars and GWPs. I’m excited to see if this is as good as the Oi shampoo (bizarre name)!

Good idea to pair it with the Aveda, that hadn’t occurred to me!

I’m a bit relieved that the CB AC tailed off a bit so I might stop kicking myself. I was also a bit worried that I’d not be able to get one after all the hype and talk of it selling out fast and I was sure that Liberty, having been released earlier, would have sold out by meaning I could have missed out on both.

I did promise myself that if I held off buying the CB AC I would treat myself to the CB GWP which is likely to be out in the new year. Hopefully it’s a good one.

Thanks@MiaN, my card was missing, it's probably in the back of the box somewhere.

Just got out of the shower. I have used the Essence oil, and today's shampoo.
I also follow the curly girl method so shampoo is not something I would normally try. I wasn't expecting high lather and it doesn't. You need to do two phase wash I think. Smells fine (I think, I had the oil on which takes over everything). Will report back once hair is dried.
I went off the essence oil but my husband absolutely loves the smell of it drifting through the house. So much do he ahem pounced on me last time. Thankfully he is out of the house today Grin I might buy it
Biggest change for me is that I've been putting the meadowfoam balm in my hair and OMG my curls!!!!!!! Brilliant product!!

AesopsMables · 16/12/2020 10:02

I'm keen to try this as only use sulphate free shampoo and not familiar with this brand. 👍🏽

ajandjjmum · 16/12/2020 10:44

I love Davine products - will save for a holiday - please God let it be useful within 12 months!

Stokey · 16/12/2020 12:35

Likewise, have added it to my holiday washbag with the shower gels, fingers crossed it gets used before too long.

ajandjjmum · 16/12/2020 12:38

Sad Have just received an email from BA cancelling our flights to Aus in March/April to see DS. At this rate, all the 'holiday' stuff I am saving will have gone off!

KatharinaRosalie · 16/12/2020 13:37

wow they don't expect things to improve any time soon, do they?

Chickydoo · 16/12/2020 13:58

Gosh @ajandjjmum that is awful. Clearly things are not going to be much better by the spring. How sad for you ThanksWinecan only hope you get to go before too long

ah no, so disappointing!

supadupapupascupa · 16/12/2020 14:35

Hair is dry and feels the best it has in a very long while. Whether that's the balm or the shampoo who knows.

whitershadeofpale · 16/12/2020 14:39

Those of you combining the balm and shampoo, are you still using conditioner or just washing and then adding the balm?

ajandjjmum · 16/12/2020 14:45

Third trip cancelled by them! Why I've gone mad on the Advent Calendar front - had to cheer myself up somehow! Grin

Chickydoo · 16/12/2020 15:24

Used the shampoo this morning, lovely soft hair, very happy

chloechloe · 16/12/2020 15:58

I’ll have to try the balm on my daughter’s curls - I would never have thought of that. Do you just warm it a bit and run it through the ends?

supadupapupascupa · 16/12/2020 16:10

I usually wash only in conditioner. I've used the shampoo followed by my conditioner (which I need to get the knots out) Rinsed and then applied balm all over. You squeeze into fingers and it melts at body heat so quick mix on the hands and apply to hair

friendlyflicka · 16/12/2020 19:08

I have curly long hair and used the balm on it instead of conditioner. I combed it through, harder work than with conditioner, and then put on my usually curl stuff. I really like it. It maybe that I quite like my hair a little less conditioned though and have just found this out

Pomegranatespompom · 17/12/2020 06:51

Love today’s - reminds me of holidays

Chickydoo · 17/12/2020 07:01

A hit for me today! Love this body cream. Brazilian Bum Bum. Never tried it, am going to pile it on this morning & imagine I am somewhere hot & sunny 🌞

I remember getting this a couple of years ago - think I quite liked it (although clearly not enough to repurchase!) and agree that the smell is lovely.

AesopsMables · 17/12/2020 07:21

I've been curious about this cream and wanted to try it out. Pistachios and Caramel?! It's very sickly to me. However I said that about the lovely Polly perfume ( which I have worn every day and will now purchase!)

MiaN · 17/12/2020 07:38

it's very strong smell but it smells like summer. I use it as hand cream as it cheers me up on long dark winter office work days. Happy with it, I have used good few of them.

Nc135 · 17/12/2020 07:54

Yes love this one. I also love the blue one which has a weird but addictive scent.

BrewThru · 17/12/2020 10:39

Delurking. Reading this thread has really added to my enjoyment of the calendar so thank you.

It's the first beauty advent calendar I've had. It's been a pretty terrible year so thought I'd treat myself like many of you and had been eyeing this one up for the last couple years! It's been interesting to read that some of you have not enjoyed it as much as previous offerings. I've loved trying many of these products which I otherwise would never have tried.

Quick run down of my thoughts:

Aveda leave in treatment: a small sample but it's made my frizzy dry hair smooth and soft. Had it in my Liberty basket but has gone out of stock since. Will repurchase though.

Venn all in one: I have sensitive skin but I like using this and feels good on.

AB cream: love love love this. Skin feels beautifully moisturised and plump. I have been applying it morning and night. Not sure I'll ever be able to justify the price to buy myself!

Dear Polly: wow. Just by the description I would have swerved it. But it is gorgeous on and so addictive. I love smelling it throughout the day and it has really good staying power. I haven't been anywhere to know if I'd get any compliments on it though! Will definitely buy again - when (if?!) it's back in stock.

Dr. Sebagh HA: was very excited to use this. My face was damp before applying as mentioned up thread. Used it morning and evening and by the next day I had a dry and visibly flaky forehead. The AB cream cleared this up quickly. Bit nervous to try it again now.

Bum bum cream: was excited to get this and was one of the products I remembered from when I was researching. Have rubbed it on my hand this morning and it's silky smooth and smells great. Reminds me of warm sunny holidays abroad. Again, smell seems to have good staying power.

Aromatherapy Associates oil: such a tiny bottle but the three baths I had with it were sooo good. I've read that not many of you like the smell but it's right up my street. Would repurchase as I'm longing for more baths like these - seems so luxurious compared to my usual bubble bath!

Malin and Goetz oil balm: like the smell and texture. Very moisturising. Have been using it on my hands at night (so dry and sore after all the hand washing this year!), my lips and last night tried it in my hair. Has worked really well overall. Very versatile.

MD fabulous hands: have only used this once or twice as have been using the oil balm. Not amazing but I liked it.

All other products have been fairly 'meh' but probably standard filler products.

I know now after purchasing to look at the size and shape of the compartments! It's fair to say that Liberty is restricted as to what it can offer due to the set up of the box - but it is beautiful and looks great in my lounge!

The anticipation of opening up a luxurious treat every day has been amazing on these dark and rainy days.

BrewThru · 17/12/2020 10:46

Oh sorry two more I forgot about:

Yesterday's shampoo smells lovely and left my hair feeling fresh and clean.

It was good to find a bit of make up with the nars lip pencil. (I did buy this calendar because it's not make up based - as it's riskier for me with my very pale and sensitive skin). Colour looks good on. I apply after a bit of lip balm. I've never had a pencil lipstick before and I actually really like it.
