Well here we go.
I couldn't see another thread, so thought I would start one.
Will try & post pictures if I remember.
If I forget perhaps someone else could post.

I am same with all hylaronic acids. They say use it on wet skin and wait until you apply the next procut but I feel they leave tiny layer on my skin and my more important serums don't absorb properly or as you said make my makeup flakey

Most creams now contain hyaluronic acid anyway but it's extremely popular as serum and this one is very highly rated & full size expensive product.

MiaN · 15/12/2020 07:17

I have a friend who has drier skin and is my skincare guru - she really knows her skincare and she loves a good HA serums, but my combo skin doesn't seem to get on with them.

MiaN · 15/12/2020 07:21

Rewriting my post to make sense.

I am same with all hyaluronic acids. Experts/dermatologists say to use HA serums on wet skin and wait until skin is completely dry before applying the next product. I feel HA serums leave tiny layer on my skin and my more important/beneficial serums don't absorb properly or as you said make my makeup flakey if used in the morning

Nc135 · 15/12/2020 07:34

I think last year it was the vitamin c powder from the same brand. I haven’t used this before and had the Liberty calendar last year

Chickydoo · 15/12/2020 07:48

I find this serum really suits my skin. No flakiness, gives a nice glow and leaves a clear fresh look.
A while back I read somewhere that Elle Macpherson uses this everyday & she looks fab!

Onekidnoclue · 15/12/2020 07:54

So do you put this on first? Then wait for it to dry before slapping the other stuff on? I was told to put the most expensive on first 😂 so normally go vitamin c, then moisturiser.

imp2007 · 15/12/2020 07:55

@Nc135 yes you are right was the vitamin c powder last year which I didn't find amazing m, still have a bit of it left - was this product the year before - my first year of Liberty Calendar. This is great - one of the few products I have used and had compliments on my skin at work - really makes a huge difference for me - no issues with flakiness etc for me . Happy with door 15!! Definitely worth using x

imp2007 · 15/12/2020 07:56

I put it on under my moisturiser x

imp2007 · 15/12/2020 07:59

This may be useful x

I really like this stuff, am just coming to the end of my current bottle. I’m starting to get fine lines on my forehead and this plumps them out and makes them disappear.

For those of you who finds it makes makeup flakey, perhaps you are using too much? Especially if you’re layering lots of products then you just need very small amounts of each.

I actually put it on dry skin but might try spritzing a hydrating toner on beforehand to see if that gives a better result.

Pomegranatespompom · 15/12/2020 09:24

Yes it was vitamin c powder - I still have one somewhere.

YouWereRight · 15/12/2020 10:31

I’m very pleased with this HA serum today, I usually use a much cheaper one, so this will be a lovely treat.

I was a bit meh about the nail stuff yesterday, but having put it on, my nails feel lovely and soft and my fingers really needed a bit of TLC.

GinandGingerBeer · 15/12/2020 13:45

I can't get on with this product. And I have lots of it!
I prefer the hado labo which is cheaper and doesn't pil on my skin.
This one, I've never found a way to apply it without it balling up as soon as other skincare/make up hits.

Stokey · 15/12/2020 16:27

This was one I was waiting for as had finished my HA last month & remembered there was another in here. I may alternate it with the Venn, could use it before I guess but seems like a waste. I normally use other serums/retinol in the evening so don't bother using HA twice a day. It was definitely the Vit C powder last year which I just found really fiddly.

@supadupapupascupa Fenwicks as samples doesn't sound great.... Maybe F&M is the one.

chloechloe · 15/12/2020 16:34

That’s a shame that the Fenwicks one was a disappointment - it looked really promising. Hopefully those who bought it got the GWP that was going around at the same time - hopefully that will save it. I would have bought it myself but they didn’t ship abroad.

I had F&M last year and really liked it. Although it did have some products that were slated here - eg the Noble Isle hotel duo Grin

I may go for Cult Beauty next year, it was just the palette that really put me off this year, but I shouldn’t led one product sway me!

Costacoffeeplease · 15/12/2020 17:49

I’m afraid I let one item sway me. Any false eyelashes and I discounted it 😄

imp2007 · 15/12/2020 18:08

I fancied a change this year was going to go for Cult beauty but didn't manage to get one - also thought Soace NK looked quite good too. After a bit of a slow start I'm happy with Liberty though - looking at the other thread Cult seems to have started strong and now tailed off a bit x

MiaN · 15/12/2020 19:15

the palette in CB is off putting but on few days they have good few products, it makes up for few that won't be of use.

liberty is most likely one and done for me but I am enjoying the chat in this group a lot! It's the most active of all

happilybemused · 15/12/2020 19:46

I have had Liberty for 4 years now. I was wavering towards Space NK and really wish I had done so. Repeat products if you do the same calendar however pretty it is .)

Housewife2010 · 15/12/2020 19:53

I have the Cult Beauty and am really happy with it. I swapped the palette for a different one and I've already sold the advent palette on eBay.

Polpette · 16/12/2020 06:54

How early is too early to open the calendar? I had the joy of insomnia last night so have been itching to open today's drawer since 3am. Finally caved at 6am.

I'm really pleased with today's offering. I love Davines products. And while this isn't full size it is pretty close and will last a good amount of time.

This followed by the Aveda should be a winning combination.

MiaN · 16/12/2020 07:00

I would have prefered conditioner or mask but happy to with it too. It will be my first experience of davines!

Chickydoo · 16/12/2020 07:44

Davines nourishing shampoo.
100ml.
No card today, thankfully no explanation required. Not very exciting, however, it smells gorgeous.

Little shampoo today. I follow curly girl method so don’t shampoo but will regift it. Would also have preferred conditioner as could make use of that. Quite a nice selection of things so far. Improved after the first week I think
