Well here we go.
I couldn't see another thread, so thought I would start one.
Will try & post pictures if I remember.
If I forget perhaps someone else could post.
Day no1 coming up

I think it's (perhaps?) an age thing. I am definitely into the age bracket where help with lines ANYWHERE is gratefully received. Not so helpful for the young things on here! Grin

MabelMoo23 · 11/12/2020 13:51

I agree the overpricing of yesterday’s product has really skewed the value of the calendar

I’ve been using the Venn and quite like it, I used the lip pencil today with some lip balm and really liked it. Plus I’ve just tried the perfume and really like it so it’s not too bad.

MabelMoo23 · 11/12/2020 13:53

@friendlyflicka

Why is everyone hating the lip stuff more than anything else. I have tried it for 2 days and not expecting miracles but wouldn't write it off, what am I missing?
I think because it’s massively overpriced for actually really cheap ingredients

Also, cost of it has skewed the value of the calendar, so they’ve thrown some cheaper products in, like the toner to balance it out

Orcadianrythyms · 11/12/2020 16:15

I didn't hate the lip serum, although it is quite drying. I was just aghast that it was £150 pounds and the cynic in me thinks it was added to massage the value. I should have paid more attention to the products but did a drive by glance as I love the surprise. I was swayed by the promise of 18 full size items and the £798 worth of product and just feel it's over promised and under delivered. I've not actively 'hated' anything but have been quite meh about most of it. Love the Venn and liked the lip pencil, although that's clearly been churned out for the advent box market.

Interestingly on my spa night on Tuesday, my husband came upstairs and asked if I had put Vicks in the bath so the AA oil won't be a repurchase Grin

KatharinaRosalie · 11/12/2020 16:23

So I went to one of those websites that sends you perfume samples based on what you like. Got some and one of them was just gorgeous, I can't stop smelling it, it's just so so good. Smells like Dear Polly but I like it even more, so wanted to get a bottle like, right now!

It's Baccarat Rouge 540. Google it. Yeah..

chloechloe · 11/12/2020 20:06

I wouldn’t agree that Liberty has ripped customers off by overinflating the cost of one product and so the calendar. A quick google shows that the retail cost of all products from the brand are eye wateringly expensive, so the overall ~£800 value of the calendar will be there. I just wished that they’d chosen something else in that price range, or ditched the toner for example in favour of something better.

Initially I regretted having tried the lip serum thinking I should have sold it instead. But I wonder how easy it will be to sell for a decent price, given that it’s so poorly packaged that there is no way of being sure that it is unopened.

Hopefully tomorrow will be more promising!

friendlyflicka · 11/12/2020 21:05

I have used other products from QMS that have been really good

mynameiscalypso · 11/12/2020 21:06

I agree the lip serum is overpriced and I probably won't use it much but I think that's the luck of the draw really - some times the big ticket items are going to be amazing, sometimes they're not for you. Isn't that part of the fun of it? And if you researched the calendar before buying, wouldn't you already know it was in there?

Pomegranatespompom · 11/12/2020 21:17

@mynameiscalypso I think many people only had quick browse, so would not remember all products. I know there a couple of things I want still to come so it does balance out.
But I do think it’s feels like a product they’ve thrown in to bump up the price point.
Time for a change next year, I hope liberty read this thread and are taking notes !

Onekidnoclue · 11/12/2020 23:51

I’m really liking today’s balm - it’s like a slightly hippy version of 8 hour cream!
Random question but does anyone know if we get a foot cream??? My heels are super cracked and I don’t have one (never had this before). Was wondering if a miracle product was about to appear or I need to nip to Boots!

MiaN · 12/12/2020 04:18

something like this
www.boots.ie/eucerin-dry-skin-intensive-foot-cream-urea-100ml-10033393?gclid=Cj0KCQiAzsz-BRCCARIsANotFgPvBYkf7mH2DLfwqg-MLtFDoCaS1MOIOML-96AW59i3aQnOQwoLhbgaAvzTEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I use boots own version cream with urea, I don't see it online. I have used both and would rate them equally good but you need to use it every night for a week or so at start to see the effect

MiaN · 12/12/2020 04:21

sorry I misread your post but I think you need to drop into boots and getting a urea treatment cream, they wouldn't put something like this in advents I think.

Chickydoo · 12/12/2020 06:56

This looks interesting Augustinian Bader. The Rich Cream, day & night. Contains TFC8 (no idea)!
Apparently this 15ml size is a two week supply and available on their website for £65
I am about to slap some on, I will report back

That's bit of a luxury oh yes, I want to try please type of product. Victoria Beckman is a fan and have collaborated with the brand. I don't really need rich cream very often and have used few 7ml samples already but it feels so lux and nourishing! As my skin is combo something like this is night time mask for me

I wouldn't buy it due to cost but very happy to get it!

MiaN · 12/12/2020 07:08

It's actually great that they have included Venn and AB and one of them is lighter potentially day use and the other very rich potentially night or to suit dryer skin!

Chickydoo · 12/12/2020 07:09

Just applied, it feels lush! I have dry skin so this is perfect for me. It is pricey however I think it is fab. Will use again this pm. One of my favourites so far.

MiaN · 12/12/2020 07:34

It's getting harder to rate my favorites but Venn, the AB rich cream, the perfume dear Polly are my top 3.

Also really love the M&G balm, the herbivore prism mask and the nars velvet lip pencil

Really enjoying the aromatherapy oil too , the hand & body wash and pre cleanse will also be used.

I am not sure about the Aveda yet, everyone seem to love it but I can't seem to make it work for me

chloechloe · 12/12/2020 07:42

I love the fact that the chat gets going early on this thread! Morning everyone!

I’m super pleased with this today, it was one of the products I was keen to try but then I forgot it was in there. I’ll slap some on this morning after the lip serum.

I tried the Prism mask a couple of nights ago and liked it. It goes on really nicely and as you just need a thin layer I was actually able to put it on before I got in the shower and it stayed on whilst I washed my hair etc.

This thread is actually encouraging me to use things straight away instead of saving them as I have done in the past.

RoxyL · 12/12/2020 07:58

Today’s cream feels lovely in my slightly dry skin. Really rich and moisturising. ✨

AesopsMables · 12/12/2020 07:58

This cream is lovely as I've been using it a week or so (was also in the CB calendar) leaves my skin very plump and soft.

mynameiscalypso · 12/12/2020 08:07

Very keen to try this; I was thinking only last night that it would be nice to get a really rich cream as my skin feels super dehydrated at the moment and hey presto!

Like @chloechloe, this thread is also encouraging me to use the products rather than hoarding them!

Pomegranatespompom · 12/12/2020 08:08

Really pleased with this cream - come on Liberty, more like this please !

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 12/12/2020 08:54

I’ve been really pleased with the last few days! Slightly gob smacked at the cost of the lip serum. I’ve slathered it on like Vaseline Grin. Today’s looks lovely too.

checkedcloth · 12/12/2020 08:54

Love this cream, it’s got such a beautiful texture. Still also enjoying Dear Polly, it has such great staying power.

Lip serum on!

KatharinaRosalie · 12/12/2020 09:00

Very nice, my skin is getting so dry with all the cold weather and heating, so was looking for a nice rich cream. Will see how my skin reacts, it is quite sensitive so I can't use many things.
