Look Fantastic Advent Calendar Opening Thread 2020

Hello Look Fantastic calendar openers! Post as you open each day and we'll discuss our thoughts. No spoilers please.
As said on other calendar opening threads, think it is fair to say you can post about the current day from 7am so people know to avoid the thread after that time if they haven’t opened yet.

Happy with this - I've enjoyed other Rodial products I've tried and cleansing products come in handy. I have many stacked up but will always go for more!

I'm happy with today's. I haven't tried much Rodial but I think the red colour intrigued me! Does this need to be rinsed off? I read somewhere micellar waters need to be rinsed off...

LarsErickssong · 04/12/2020 09:00

Oops if you do I haven't rinsed it off this morning! It doesn't say to wash it off on the bottle

AliceinBunniland · 04/12/2020 09:06

I think it's someone on YouTube who says you have to rinse them off but the directions don't say to rinse it off...

ferretface · 04/12/2020 09:48

Cleansers are always useful and Rodial is a nice brand so I'm happy :) very happy with all the products so far tbh.

AsPerMyLastEmail · 04/12/2020 09:57

I’m very happy too with today’s and all products so far. I like & use miceller water and although I haven’t tried this, I’ve used another Rodjal dragon’s blood product in the last and it was great.

Directionerforever · 04/12/2020 13:48

My AC is in my office so I’m curating a pile of products on my desk. Need to move them into a place where I might use them. Happy with them all so far though!

chloechloe · 04/12/2020 15:16

My stuff is all in my home office too directioner. I’ve taken to keeping some bits like hand cream, lip balm, facial spritz and candles there though in an attempt to get through my stash of products!

I’m pleased with this micellar water - I try not to buy it as I should really cleanse my skin properly but I love stuff like that when I’m tired and feeling lazy!

AliceinBunniland · 04/12/2020 15:20

My stuff is in my home office too! It's quite a big room though (for an office) and has my desk, a sofa bed and my dressing table!

I am being more lazy than usual about washing my face Blush

HedgieHog · 04/12/2020 20:35

I was disappointed with yesterday Molton Brown doesn't really blow me away, pleased with today's offering though

SomethingAboutNothing · 04/12/2020 22:27

Same here Hedgie Molton Brown doesn't really do anything for me, I've always thought it was overpriced. Smells ok though so I'm sure it will get used.

I'm quite looking forward to trying todays one, have had a different dragons blood product from them in a m&s advent calendar that I loved so hopefully this will be a hit too.

I'm excited to see what's in box 5!

ferretface · 05/12/2020 09:52

I don't know this brand but the packaging seems high quality! Any tips for application? I don't usually wear gel eyeshadows.

Butterymuffin · 05/12/2020 10:16

I only use the ones that come in a tube with an applicator. Think with this you'd just swipe it on with a finger but will see if others have any better ideas!
Just an ok day for me as it's not a high end brand - though I agree the glass jar is nice - and I had almost exactly the same product, same brand, but a darker brown, in my Glossybox calendar last year. Haven't used it.

LarsErickssong · 05/12/2020 10:36

With the Charlotte Tilbury ones that are similar to this they are creamy enough to apply with a brush but I think this is too solid to do that so it might just have to be by finger

HedgieHog · 05/12/2020 10:42

Not used cream eyeshadow but the colour is good, I like the glass pot
Will give it a go
There are several on eBay already
I’d rather this than the molton brown the other day

chloechloe · 05/12/2020 11:30

This is just up my street - I was looking to buy a neutral cream eyeshadow. I’ve never heard of this brand.

I tend to apply this kind of thing with my fingers - I apply from the lid up to the crease and then use a clean finger to soften the edges.

AliceinBunniland · 05/12/2020 11:38

On the fence with this one. I don't know the brand and the colour looks like it might be on the cool side but I have been wanting an new cream eye shadow of a similar colour to this so I will give it a go.

FlipperSkipper · 05/12/2020 12:53

I’m not very happy with today’s - love the colour and it’s something I’d wear but the lid had come off and it’s all dried out.

chloechloe · 05/12/2020 13:30

That’s really annoying flipper - send them a photo and perhaps you’ll get a replacement, although seeing how poor their customer service is from other posters maybe it’s a long shot!

Butterymuffin · 05/12/2020 14:15

Flipper, you can have mine. There's bound to be something we can swap. It looks nice enough but realistically given that I didn't get round to using last year's one, I can see the same happening with this.

Hellofayearsofar · 05/12/2020 14:46

Today was my first item that was wrapped in the pink paper. The other days, the pink paper has just been sitting in the box.
Nice eyeshadow today.

ferretface · 05/12/2020 16:37

I've tried out the eyeshadow and it's nice, kind of an old gold effect, dries down very quickly and therefore not that blendable but think it will last very well, I didn't use any primer either.

SomethingAboutNothing · 05/12/2020 18:04

I really liked todays offering, put it straight on this morning and it has lasted well, its a good colour for me too.

This calendar has been better than the m&s one I usually get - I'm impressed so far! Hope it continues.

AsPerMyLastEmail · 05/12/2020 19:35

I’ve also used today’s item straight away. I like the colour, it’s a wearable day colour, and I like that it’s creamy and has a glittery sheen. For practical reasons it’s not something I’d necessarily buy, it’s slightly indulgent and treat-like, which is why I appreciate getting it like this.

FlipperSkipper · 06/12/2020 07:42

Aww, thank you, that’s really kind! Let’s see what turns up that I can swap with you. I can’t be bothered to complain to LF, from what I’ve seen of their customer service it’ll be pretty pointless.

I’m very happy with today’s, I love the product but never manage to justify buying it!
