General beauty advent calendar discussion and swap thread

Like many others, I’m looking forward to starting my Beauty Advent Calendars on Tuesday. With no M&S calendar or thread this year, I thought it might be fun to have a general beauty advent calendar discussion and swap thread. I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts about the calendar they are opening, whatever it is.

I suggest though we comment only on content from current or previous days, so as not to spoil the surprise for those opening one day at a time.

Or Eimear, which means swift...

Well I think the LF has clearly been off having some intrepid travels somewhere so maybe Brendan after the Saint? My history is very rusty though

Another excellent option. Although I was assuming it was female. Perhaps not. A female calendar would have made its way here long ago.

I'm amazed and delighted for Ochon that the LF calendar materialized!

Can't believe the LF calendar actually arrived! I ordered the Glossybox 2019 calendar (bargain linked on the old thread on Black Friday) and almost three weeks later it hasn't even been despatched. Not holding my breath for it ever turning up tbh.

ASOS was a tube of tinted red paw paw lip balm, full size, very lovely...

I got face wipes in the Boots AC today which I haven't used for years but good for emergencies I guess.

@ashmts - oh no. That's awful about your calendar. Hopefully it will turn up. I had it last year and enjoyed it.

I must say, one good thing that came out of the massive delay in my calendar was that I ended up on this thread. It's been great seeing what people are getting from the different boxes. Plus the revelation that is gustobox.

@ashmts I also ordered the Glossybox 2019 one off the last thread but got it sent to my parents in the UK (rather than sent to Ireland). It was delivered 4 days after ordering so you should chase that one up.

@BuffaloMozzerella hmm interesting. I sent a message on 4th December and customer services said it was delayed due to covid (that old chestnut) but would ship within 72 hours. Gave them some time but I sent another message earlier today so waiting to hear back. I do have Space NK and Rituals already so not the end of the world if it doesn't arrive but still disappointing.

That's annoying. I hate all the fobbing off and lack of clarity. You should apply Ochon's approach and start complaining on Twitter - then if you don't get the calendar you may at least get some compensation

I’m expecting a new fridge-freezer tomorrow. Fortunately, I haven’t had to wait nearly as long, but I’m looking forward to not having to keep the milk outside the back door.
