I’m looking for a boy mama sweatshirt or long sleeve top ( could say anything along the lines of boy mama)! Any recommendations? I want something slightly nicer quality if there is anything out there . I love soft materials and an oversized fit !

If you google mum of boys jumper there are plenty out there. Raising boys is another one. Is it just boy singular you are after?

@Oodlesofnoodles20 When I googled it nothing caught my eye . They were not quite the quality I wanted but it’s hard to tell by looking at a picture online . I love buttery soft materials .

I’ll keep looking but if anyone has any suggestions let me know !

@33goingon64

What is a boy mama sweatshirt?
A sweatshirt someone wears to tell people they are the mother of a boy?
Harmarsuperstar · 10/11/2020 17:35

Is this a thing? What a funny world we live in Confused

33goingon64 · 10/11/2020 17:36

Huh?

EgSk · 10/11/2020 17:48

Okay never mind . I didn’t think I would get negative comments .

I looked this up. I never knew it was a thing.

Welshponyslave · 10/11/2020 18:03

I have a “raising boys” sweater from My Rocking kids. Not the softest but I got The gold print and it has held through washing and still looks good.

Selfish mother jumpers are lovely too but not sure if they do “boy Mama” ones, I have two of the “Mother” ones and they also wash and wear well.

I feel so ancient!

SockDrawer · 10/11/2020 19:19

I don’t know about the softness but I like the look of the ‘Raising the Future’ ones here: meresoeur.com/

(And then you could get your DS a ‘future’ one!)

My youngest boy is 23 -have I missed the boat on this?
CannonCaboodle · 10/11/2020 23:40

Is this a serious thread?

FamilyOfAliens · 10/11/2020 23:43

So have I got this right - you wear a sweatshirt to tell strangers that you have a son? (Because obviously everyone who knows you will know you have a son).

Why do strangers need to know you have a son? Am I missing something here?

JaneJeffer · 11/11/2020 00:01

@ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords you'll have to wait until you're a grandmother Grin

People wear T-shirts of the TV show Friends. Why do strangers need to know they like the show Friends? People wear T-shirts of a band they like. Why do strangers need to know which band they like? People wear T-shirts of the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas as they’ve been there for a meal. Why do strangers need to know they’ve been to the Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas? People wear a blue T-shirt. Why do strangers need to know they like blue? People wear what they like 🤷‍♀️

I would no sooner walk round wearing a sweater advertising im a mental health nurse , or any of the other roles i have . I just find it weird that women want to pigeon hole themselves like this.

Yes I totally get it . Children are amazing, iv had a traumatic path to get to be a mum.

But do i need to advertise something that women have been doing forever?
Not really.

Luckily, no one is asking you to wear one?
HerFlowersToLove · 11/11/2020 00:18

Is this real? I genuinely don't get why anyone would want to label themselves with the fact they've had a child and what sex that child is.

PicpouldePinet · 11/11/2020 03:11

Very odd. Is this a thing? A 'boy mama'? Sounds a bit tacky to be honest.

LavenderHills · 11/11/2020 05:33

Agree this seems very odd, but I think maybe it is an American/Canadian thing? I've seen a few mums on Instagram talking about being a "boy mom" or "girl mom" if they have children of only one gender Confused
