Boy mama sweatshirt suggestions ?

I’m looking for a boy mama sweatshirt or long sleeve top ( could say anything along the lines of boy mama)! Any recommendations? I want something slightly nicer quality if there is anything out there . I love soft materials and an oversized fit !

OP posts:
Oodlesofnoodles20 · 11/11/2020 07:03

Considering there are so many jumpers out there with “raising boys” or “mum of boys”, it’s not as unusual as some of you are trying to make out.
You should google photos of families in matching tshirts in Disney, it’ll blow your tiny minds!!

Coconut2010 · 11/11/2020 07:13

When I first read the OP I thought “boy mamma” was a new style of sweatshirt I was not aware of, like we say “boyfriend” jean.

I can’t help you OP as I’ve never come across this type of sweater before and in general I am not a fan of tops with text, whatever the text. Strangers don’t need to know what I like/think/am etc

baubled · 11/11/2020 07:27

Stop being weirdos and going out of your way to tell the OP why you wouldn't wear one/how awful they are. She didn't ask for your opinion on them, she asked if anyone knew of any nice ones, you obviously don't so why are you posting.

I've just had a look at the my rocking kids ones so seem to be popular

FamilyOfAliens · 11/11/2020 07:33

@LittleRa

Of course people wear what they like.

People who wear a band t-shirt, or a Friends t-shirt, wear those t-shirts because they like the band / TV show.

A t-shirt stating that you have a son is to advertise a fact about yourself to strangers. I’m just puzzled as to why that’s even a thing and I have to say, I agree with pp that it’s tacky.

Aparttogether · 11/11/2020 07:39

Oh I thought you meant a sweatshirt for a little boy.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 11/11/2020 07:40

@LittleRa because wearing a top that indicates you are a mother (of either sex) is an attempt to denote A Status, whilst wearing a top bearing rhe image of a show / band etc is to denote fandom. Clearly different and disingenuous to pretend otherwise.

FelicityPike · 11/11/2020 07:43

I can’t stand people calling themselves “mama”.

ShirleyPhallus · 11/11/2020 07:46

People wear T-shirts of the TV show Friends. Why do strangers need to know they like the show Friends? People wear T-shirts of a band they like. Why do strangers need to know which band they like? People wear T-shirts of the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas as they’ve been there for a meal. Why do strangers need to know they’ve been to the Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas? People wear a blue T-shirt. Why do strangers need to know they like blue? People wear what they like

@LittleRa love this reply Grin

FenellaMaxwell · 11/11/2020 07:48

I think my saggy boobs, fat wobbly stomach and exhausted expression are ‘boy mama’ signs enough without wearing it on a jumper tbh.

daisydukes26 · 11/11/2020 07:51
Hmm
ShaunaTheSheep · 11/11/2020 07:53

What does one wear if one has boys and girls?

suddengate · 11/11/2020 07:54

I have ordered from My Rocking Kids in the past, they've always been great. Hoodies are good quality and I know that they sell these

@ShirleyPhallus Grin Need I get started on football shirts?! Why does a stranger need to know you support Manchester United?

To be honest, I wouldn’t particularly choose to wear a Boy Mama T-shirt myself or many other things I see other people wearing, because they look uncomfortable or I don’t like the design or I don’t think they’d suit me. But there are a lot of very unnecessarily rude people on this thread coming on saying it’s tacky, weird, they wouldn’t wear it, “is this real?!” when all the OP asked was if anyone had any recommendations. Don’t have a recommendation? Move along and don’t post, it’s as easy as that 🤷‍♀️
I’m not even a fan of Miranda, don’t think I’ve seen a full episode, but I’ve seen this scene reposted before and thought it was quite fitting here (screenshot attached).

This is what the Communists said the West was like!

Cherry321 · 11/11/2020 07:59

Never heard of these sweatshirts. But boys get such a hard time as people often assume women would prefer daughters. So maybe these are to redress the balance a bit?

Wow. Where do I sign up for my state-sponsored grey overalls, because God forbid anyone should ever express any personal choice or individuality in their clothing.
Handsnotwands · 11/11/2020 08:03

I think buttery soft, high quality materials and logos are mutually exclusive

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/11/2020 08:09

I feel like this must be covert advertising aimed at directing people to a certain site. I mean even if someone really, really wanted a "boy mom" sweatshirt, would anyone real say it needs to feel "buttery soft"?

It sounds like one of those scripted conversations in a ad. "Reg can't keep his hands off me since I tried this new hair colour!" "That sounds great Bev. But is it multi-tonal?" Things people don't say in real life.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/11/2020 08:09

And would you really want a sweatshirt to feel buttery?

ShirleyPhallus · 11/11/2020 08:18

I’d say I wanted a sweatshirt to feel buttery soft. It’s a pretty standard description to mean really really soft Confused

FamilyOfAliens · 11/11/2020 08:24

Need I get started on football shirts?! Why does a stranger need to know you support Manchester United?

@LittleRa are you seriously unaware of the reason why football supporters wear their team’s shirts?

I always think “greasy” when I hear the term “buttery soft”.

Of course I’m not Grin I’m echoing the poster who said “why does a stranger need to know you’re a mother of boys?” Why does a stranger need to know anything about your through your clothing choice?
TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/11/2020 08:31

I always think “greasy” when I hear the term “buttery soft”.

Me too. The term used to be used for leather, where it slightly makes sense. On fabric it sounds like.

FamilyOfAliens · 11/11/2020 08:33

Wearing a football shirt is about supporting the team. It’s a world away from informing strangers, via a slogan on a t shirt, that you have a son.
