Which is better option 1 or 2? Also, am I mad to pay these prices for a coat?!! I love love love them but I'm a bit concerned they'll go out of style quickly.

Definitely an option - I also think Jigsaw and Jaegar do cracking quality for the money.

I’ve got a Jaegar one that looks like new but must be about 6 years old and worn to death every autumn and winter.

@boohooyoutoo if you’re after a trench check out Mackintosh, the original and the best I love mine and it’s a good investment if you do want to invest in a coat.

The maxmara one might be expensive for a style that won't last but it is made of camel hair.

They are making you pay loads of money to look like Bungle or something.

I guess if you can't let go of the idea, option 1 is better.

I love Max mara coats and if I can ever justify spending the cash, I'd go for a real investment classic piece. These aren't classics and your new look purchase is much more sensible!
