Which is better option 1 or 2? Also, am I mad to pay these prices for a coat?!! I love love love them but I'm a bit concerned they'll go out of style quickly.

What do you think?*

@satsuma don't worry I lectured her about that as did her dad who is Canadian abc like me, anti fur and animal cruelty. She was much more ethically aware when she was young but that seems to have gone out of the window unfortunately. I have to bite my tongue abc remind myself that she's an adult now and can spend her earned money as she choses but I sbcc Dec get dad ensure she is aware of the facts around these hideously expensive, cruel and the opposite of stylish coats

I think you’d need to be rail thin to pull it off... if you are, you can afford it and you like it then go for it.

I’d look literally like a fat stuffed teddy in either so I won’t be buying!

dublingirl66 · 07/11/2020 21:13

Oh dear lord my eyes
😂😂

I have seen ten times nicer on ASOS

LindaEllen · 07/11/2020 21:16

I actually feel a bit sick when I think about how flippantly some people seem to spend money, when to me that could pay the bills for a month.

But you know what, I am also aware that it's not everyone else's fault I'm poor - and if you have the money freely available, and you want it, go for it. But not if it's leaving you short on something else.

PickAChew · 07/11/2020 21:17

If you don't want to go too cheap, this whistles one looks much nicer

This hush one looks nice, as well, though is chocolate rather than camel on colour

Oly4 · 07/11/2020 21:19

I spend a fortune on coats but both of those are awful, sorry. Agree with the Del Boy comments! You can get so much nicer

IrishMumSW19 · 07/11/2020 21:20

Love a MaxMara coat but I think you can do a lot better than this one.

LoopyLoux · 07/11/2020 21:22

God no! Don't do it!

LarryUnderwood · 07/11/2020 21:22

Watching trading places and I'm pretty sure that coat is the one dan Aykroyd wears 🤣

JuliaJohnston · 07/11/2020 21:22

The first is a nicer shape, but seriously - two grand for a teddy bear coat?? I wouldn't...

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/11/2020 21:24

Dear lord, step away from the hideous coat.

MikeUniformMike · 07/11/2020 21:25

1 is nice, 2 isn't.

kmkkkkkk · 07/11/2020 21:26

If you like it get it if you want it get it life is too short f**k what anyone else thinks do what makes you happy. Everyone's got their own style people need to stop being so judgemental and focus on themselves. But It's really expensive !!!! Is it a magic coat lol I'm sure you'll be able to get an identical one cheaper somewhere else

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 07/11/2020 21:26

Awful. They look cheap despite not being so.

ilovecardigans · 07/11/2020 21:28

@SomeSmotheringDreams

Made me think of John Motson.
Motty!

Yep, that was my first though too. Sorry OP.

PolloDePrimavera · 07/11/2020 21:36

I like no 1 but it's far too much for a passing trend which has already been around a few years. Have Jigsaw/Whistles got anything?

MiniMum97 · 07/11/2020 21:50

I like number 2. But it's a bit pricey for what it is.

Eaumyword · 07/11/2020 22:05

That chocolate brown Hush one is absolutely gorgeous!

bellagogosdead · 07/11/2020 22:18

@DrDavidBanner

I could be so good for you Love you like you want me too Oooh I'd be so good for you Grin
Lmao
PickAChew · 07/11/2020 22:19

I agree @eaumyword. It's a lovely shape and hangs well and if I was going to be tempted by a Teddy bear coat, it would be that one. I've only just gone over to the dark side of quilted coats, though, conceding that my barbour coastal coat might look smart, be water and windproof but it wouldn't cut the mustard queuing for the supermarket on a freezing morning.

wirldsgonemad · 07/11/2020 22:25

They have an Arthur Daley /Del boy vibe. Can't see the attraction myself.

remaininlight · 07/11/2020 22:29

I have the Max Mara one (bought second hand!) and I love it.

remaininlight · 07/11/2020 22:30

Actually, mine is a camel hair coat, not teddy bear. 🧸

MaverickDanger · 07/11/2020 22:34

The style is fast fashion, so I would absolutely not be spending more than about £100 on it.

For the price of the first two, I’d expect a classic wool camel coat or a trench or the ultimate warm stylish waterproof.
